If you're not fussed about having a newish car. A great starting tuner car is the Saab 9-3 aero 2.0T. Can buy a decent one for £1500 and a simple noobtune map (£90) will take it from 210hp to 250hp. Fit a bigger intercooler and downpipe and you can map to 285bhp. Fit some deka 630cc injectors and a Kinugawa td04-20t turbo and we can map to 330bhp. All in sub £4k, £3k is doable if you're good with spanners

Pretty poor results for nearly 4k though. 120 bhp increase for stage 3 sucks. You can get 75 bhp on a vag car with just stage 1 remap. Then there is the reliability. I bet this engine won't last another 10 k miles lol

@@steeldevil98 the difference is for a fist that is an increase of power by 60 percent which is huge. A golf r getting to 370 ish on stage 1 is only a 20 to 25 percent increase, thats a big difference. Also a stage 3 fiesta will probably keep up with a stage 1 golf r just due to the weight difference. If you look at pure numbers on a remap things like bmws and amg v8s would be twice as good as the vag cars

Really enjoyed watching the build, makes a difference from a lot of youtubers who are all talk and end up flogging the car before they even touch it. Thing is I couldn’t justify spending that much on a Fiesta ST all to make just 300bhp, I’ve driven one with a X57 turbo (was cammed etc, around 350bhp? No sure exactly) and it was an absolute dog to drive, horrendous turbo lag and I’d guarantee most cars on the road would make a fool of it if you weren’t in the right gear at the right revs at the right time. You’d think it’d be great on a track but the engines are chocolate, cracked heads, head gaskets, random compression loss for no reason. Such a great car to drive though out the factory, just feels very well balanced. Shame the powertrain lets it down. Oh one thing, upgrade the radiator and fit a cooler thermostat, seen a few of these things with various upgraded turbos cook themselves, cooling system seems to struggle even at idle.

Meme Machine it’s not exactly a shit box though? It would be a good second car for me. It’s just enough power for a young driver. That’s the point I’m making. I would have one if I was 25 but being a young driver you can still have a lot of fun with it.

Cool and instructive vid. I have a fully mountuned stage 2 for the time being with some additional stuff here and there (struts, springs, engine mount, etc), I wanna go st3 but am worried about reliability and engine abuse. I like it where its at now with thee 230bhp roughly. Are you going to open up the engine and put cam and rods? Thank, peace out

If I’d driven 2hrs, to Portsmouth of all places, and the guy tried to pull a fast one like that with me - I’d have left him ‘Cat N’ just like the car 😐 This should have taken place in the boot of that beast RS5 as an add-on toy 😄 I love the fact you’ve openly shared the build costs with your Ford fan base and given people something to think about. I’m an Audi man also so I’m dying to see how ripped you make this new machine! 😎

Quick question; would any of you remap a 122 bhp 155k mile Mk6 golf turbo?? It's dsg and is fast already off the line if I go stage 1 I can get about 150bhp and 250nm!! Is it worth it or high mileage too risky??
