When I click on the REC button I am not getting any audio coming through even though Serato works just fine in all other aspects. I am not seeing the VOL for the recording gain even of I turn it to max. Any ideas how to fix this please? thanks
Nice video. @3:30 - when your left channel in the Serato interface is hitting the orange, is that something we should be worried about? Is there a way to permanently attenuate the channel levels in Serato, so it stays in the green in the box?

I try to record with soundcloud songs but it won’t let me record it says to me eject streaming tracks from decks to start recording so I record first then try to add a track and it says stop recording before loading streaming track on deck do I have to download all songs from SoundCloud to record?

Can you actually show us connecting the controller to the lap top? And changing our lap top settings so that we for sure get sound on our recordings? I’ve recorded 2- 2 hour long sets with no sound.

I recorded a mix and there was no sound. I used to always record my mixes then I started touring and now it seems like any controller I use it won't let me record. now when I am unplugged it works fine. I need it to work with the controller. Any help?
I wish they still had the option that recorded in .als. Recorded into ableton format without having ableton open. You would open the recording in ableton and it was all recorded into individual channels.
hey mate on saturday im doing a 12hr set which i want to record - Ive done 2-3 hrs before no problems but just read this on serato website... NOTE: Recording files are automatically split when the recording exceeds 3 hours (16-bit) or 1 hour 50 minutes (24-bit). Recordings are saved as 24-bit by default. Have you recorded over 3hrs before? im worried itll stop after 3hrs and wont record the other 9

im using a dvs box rane sl2...when i press record it only gives me channel 1 or 2 option. there is no mix option to choose from. any help would be appreciated.
You won't have the option without a a 3rd channel unfortunately, however you should have the option to connect your usb to record in depending on what hardware you're using?

I think 3 hours is the limit but I have a feeling it auto saves & then automatically starts a new recording. I' sure it's happened to me when recording live sets.
hi! i've downloaded serato dj pro and trying to record my amateure mixes but software's interface looks different than yours and i cant see the rec button as well. i'm wondering why is that? is it because that i dont have a dj controller? can't i record mixes only using laptop or pc?
Hey, having the same issue - my controller just broke while I was recording my radio show...and it seems that NO, you can't record in laptop mode without a controller plugged in. :( This info seems to be hard to find on the Serato website.
how do you add mix to soundcloud also how do you add to you tube. on serato it shows the mix but only has audio in serato. will show time in audio player but no audio.
The gauge next the left of the record button isn’t showing any activity of that makes sense, so I believe it results in no audio when I play back my recording

I record to my desktop via Audacity and then load the mix into FL Studio for mastering. Good video, bro!

Orange is ok, just avoid red. There is a feature called 'auto gain' which you can set to a lower level, you'll find it in settings.

If you follow the steps in the video, it will be saved to your mac in your serato folder.

No, thats not possible. If you make a mistake, stop mixing, go back to the part before you messed up & then edit it afterwards.

Do all plug and play mixers allow to record the mix straight to serato? Currently looking at the Mixar Quattro.
I don't know that specific model but generally yes, as the sound travels directly through the usb cable.

It should just do it automatically, but if you're worried just save it manually every 3 hours just for peace of mind
