Do IB Analysts usually get a room to themselves as a workstation? Or are you usually in like an open workspace set up? also how often are you interreacting with the others on your team throughout the day?
Analysts normally don’t have our own room. I’m just booked a meeting room for a meeting, hence what you see in the video. We interact with others on a daily basis!
Amazing and insightful video!! Keep up the good work! I would like to work in an investment firm oneday as an analyst (either investment bank or private equity), and obviously since the industry is very competitive to get in, I was wondering if you could give me some insight about some odd jobs in the industry that could help me get a foot inside the door like a photocopie associate in the printing department, or a job in the mailroom , or a clerc. I might not get the analyst job but it would be good to get one of those odd jobs in the firm to start of with. Thanks
How do you get into investment banking? I’m in my senior year of college with a degree in economics and I’m worried if my skills won’t be good enough for entry level. I didn’t do an internship because of the pandemic. I never learned SQL and such. Any tips?

Hi totally loved your video❤️I'm currently 17yrs old and interested in Investment banking.. do you advice people to join investment banking? Is it worthy? Do you get time for yourself to enjoy? Such a cool video! Thanks a lot! Can you kindly advice me if I need a Finance degree or I am good with Coursera and other onlien courses to start my career as a Investment Banking Advisor or an Analyst?
Thank you for the content, you mentioned having to be on a bunch of live deals being… well yeah, but wouldn’t you want to theoretically as isn’t total compensation based on the amount of deals? Sorry beginner level understanding of IB
For analysts generally, compensation (bonus) is based on two factors: 1) the overall performance of the company this year 2) your rank in your analyst class. So analysts’ bonuses can’t differentiate by that much, unless you are really bad. (normally ~50-60k difference in bonus between a bad analyst and a great analyst). However, more senior bankers (VP/Director/MD)’s bonus are more deal-dependent because they are the ones earning/chasing those deals. These differences can go up to the hundred thousands or even millions.
