Thanks for the help. I didn't have the plug adapter so my friend and I made up a harness and I notched the end of a flat screwdriver and bent it 45 degrees which worked great to get the clip back on. Couldn't have done it without your help.

To reinstall the rubber boot, simply pull the bulb out of the metal ring after installation into the headlight housing, this will allow you to reinstall the boot, then slide the "bulb" back in, making sure it clips into place.
Alternatively, you can install the adapter and the metal ring into the headlight housing without the bulb, set up the boot, then slide in the led "bulb" at the end.

You can put the rubber back in before the plastic adapter, the heat sump won’t be protected but at least you won’t have water going into your headlight.

Have you had any issue with water getting into the headlight? I think most of those LED bulbs are waterproof but I was worried that water would enter into the headlight compartment. Also how did you water proof the cable part where the light wire plugs into the old bulb adapter and then into the car power?

I have a 2008 Mazda and is it hard to change the right one. The fuse box is so close. I am still not sure how to change that bulb for low beam. It is going to be really tight. Only thing I can do is remove the bumper and remove the headlight completely.

Good question, but no. The protector goes over the original socket a bit, but it won't go over the cooling system of led. You could just cut it...make a bigger whole.

  • @phthisics

You need to specify the model year. I have 2012 and it uses H11 and 9005 bulbs, not H7s, for starters. One thing is true, though. No matter what year your hands will hurt after you do it.

Thank you first time I think I understand. I seriously hate how dim my low beams are but high beams are great. It's like everyone I know with mazda3 2010 body style my mom's 2007 2009 are the same. But my doesn't have the noise in reverse quite often. I had her car checked out. It's hydraulic and it is working. They. said replace it might be a waste of money because oem parts tend to work. the same. I had two mechanics assure me that my mom's car was OK. They explained why it doesn't happened all the time. But my 2010 doesn't currently. I thought I heard something but they look alike but they aren't. I think her car looks tricker than mine. I bought mine because I already know mazda3 and I my favorite vehicles seem to have Mazda made engines. It's not the fastest car but it can get out of its own way quicker than alot of cars out there my is regular engine hers is bigger. But I like when I can keep up with the big boys. 60 to 80 happens to easily. I don't realize that I am doing 80. I only wish that I had a v6 the mazda3 is lite and I sometimes need to have power. I have a stock and it's not the mazda3 red I love but it rusty red. I love black interior but it is to dark in mazda3 I also had hoped my mom would switch with me. She wanted a white one because of the interior. I thought that the two tones mine has was different and looked better than white cars. Ain't a white car with lite interior avenue some kind of Greyish blue. But mazda3 still have black dash and door panels only . I have yet to see the other red color with kohl interior. But I didn't know how many of mazda3 there was until I bought it. I like the beige but not on my seats. I put cheap black with leopard trim. Now I couldn't find any seat covers that backseat had a good look and I paid under 20. For front and back (which haven't been installed yet.) And my friend who installed them said I was getting junk for the price. He was pleasantly surprised. I definitely can't keep lite color seats lite. But I can't make it tough looking I would like to see where I don't have to flick the lights to verify I'm not driving with parking lights. And fog lights aren't on mine but would they help?
