Hi, each trust kasi may mga kanyang tawag sa mga department nila. Ang sa intindi ko gen medicine probably ward iyan hawak mga medical pts. Ung amu:acute medical unit ay sa after ma triage sa ED ilagag yan sa amu.

Hi gwen! Does the nurses there do bed side nursing care? E.g. Assist showering, bed sponging, changing diaper, top up patients water jug, serve diet? And… all the shift works for 12 hours shift? Curious to know.. cause in singapore, we do all those but we have different kind of shift.. 7hr, 8hr, 9hr shift n only night shift works for 11hr shift. Cheer :))
woow mind blowning , yes very similar and that is just on top of your main role as a nurse. We have healthcare assistant but you still do these bed side care you mentioned. Our shifting are 0730H to 2000H vv day and night. during the day we have early shift which is 0730 to 1400 or late shift 1330 to 2000H. No matter shift you got in a week as long as you complete 37.5 hours for a full time contract.
I think it depends what field/area you’re in, what band you’re on, your specific hospital and staffing levels. For example, at my hospital, it’s kinda rare that nurses do personal care (P/C). We have HCA’s and students that do most of the P/C. Granted, we help out sometimes if the staffing levels are poor but I’ve found it to be mostly medication, shift running, documentation, catheter care, IV, bloods etc. But it all depends. I’m not that great at P/C tbh because I don’t do it that often 🥴

When starting I believe they will let you do both , but if you have reason or request to be a night or just day shift, most likely you request will be granted.

Hi yael . Full time is to complete 37.5 hours in a week that would be 3 long shift and one in a month 4 long shift in a week. And yes depends on the trust you work in. Hope that answers your questions.

If u r newly qualified in the UK as a nurse, your salary will start from the bottom band 5 (24k) coz u are new. Yearly there is appraisal with ur senior nurse in the ward where u will work. This is a review of your performance of ur last year’s for example, as years go by, your salary will increase, not a lot though until you reach the top of band 5 (30k). This is how it works. To be able for u to get more or extra money, u can do extra shifts. Or work in uk care homes, they give higher salary than nurses in hospital. Only the benefits is better for hospital workers. You see, even when u are skilled in the philippines, u have to adapt to the system of the uk hospital, coz u are new. U have to undergo lots of trainings like inserting a cannula, even u did that a thousand times in the phil.
