    NHS nurses are truly the unsung heroes of UK health system. I remain astounded what they have been through and nothing in reality has been done to support them. A payrise that is worthless with rising inflation and promises that are just words from our government. Shame on BJ and his cronies .
    NHS thank you so much 🙏👏👏👏

    Hi gwen! Does the nurses there do bed side nursing care? E.g. Assist showering, bed sponging, changing diaper, top up patients water jug, serve diet? And… all the shift works for 12 hours shift?
    Curious to know.. cause in singapore, we do all those but we have different kind of shift.. 7hr, 8hr, 9hr shift n only night shift works for 11hr shift. Cheer :))

      I think it depends what field/area you’re in, what band you’re on, your specific hospital and staffing levels. For example, at my hospital, it’s kinda rare that nurses do personal care (P/C). We have HCA’s and students that do most of the P/C. Granted, we help out sometimes if the staffing levels are poor but I’ve found it to be mostly medication, shift running, documentation, catheter care, IV, bloods etc. But it all depends. I’m not that great at P/C tbh because I don’t do it that often 🥴

    How many days do you work in a week and is it all a 12 hr shift ? and is it true that NHS funds the nurses who are willing to go for further studies?
    inadvance thank you :)

      Hi yael . Full time is to complete 37.5 hours in a week that would be 3 long shift and one in a month 4 long shift in a week. And yes depends on the trust you work in. Hope that answers your questions.

      @@GwenGeorgie I understand Band 5 salary range is 24-30k/annum. The initial offer of the trust na inapplyan ko is 24k after completion of OSCE. That means minimum yun ng band 5. My question po Mam is, when do they start increasing your salary? Kasi napapaisip ako kasi sayang din years of experience ko (13).

    • @GwenGeorgie
      @GwenGeorgie  3 года назад

      It depends sakanila kung consider ung experience mo outside uk. so u can discuss with ur h.r. kung considered and kung kelan nmn u can ask ur payroll kasi increment is yearly

    • @minominmina5672
      @minominmina5672 2 года назад

      @@yvettekristinepedrosa8240 as far as i know the years of experience is not counted. But having experience is right. If u r newly qualified in the UK as a nurse, your salary will start from the bottom band 5 (24k) coz u are new. Yearly there is appraisal with ur senior nurse in the ward where u will work. This is a review of your performance of ur last year’s for example, as years go by, your salary will increase, not a lot though until you reach the top of band 5 (30k). This is how it works. To be able for u to get more or extra money, u can do extra shifts. Or work in uk care homes, they give higher salary than nurses in hospital. Only the benefits is better for hospital workers.
      You see, even when u are skilled in the philippines, u have to adapt to the system of the uk hospital, coz u are new. U have to undergo lots of trainings like inserting a cannula, even u did that a thousand times in the phil.
