I am a UK registered nurse working in the NHS. I am a surgical nurse by background and was redeployed to Intensive Care Unit following the Covid-19 outbreak. At present, I work as a Junior Sister in Acute and Chronic pain services.

Nursing is a job with highest responsibility with least power. And nobody acknowledges the hardwork they do in Indian esp. I sometimes feel so inferior that i want to quit and navigate to other career path.

Hi, how did you get into specialist nursing and how long were you qualified for.
To get into specialist nursing you need to have relevant experience within the field you are interested in :) they typically look for experience of 2-5 years minimum depending on the speciality you are interested in.

Hi beautiful! What degree did you do at university? How long did it take you to become a specialist nurse? Does this role require a master degree? Do you have mandatory 12 hour shifts to work or can you work more flexibly over 5 days. Also looking at this video do nurses not get morning and lunch breaks! How shocking you guys work so hard

Ahh, I am happy you enjoyed my vlog ❤️! I currently work in pain specialist nursing, so caring for patients with acute and chronic pain needs. To become a specialist nurse, you will definitely need relevant experience beforehand. Every area will have different requirements of course, so double check with the job post when considering to apply :)

I have graduated BSC nursing 2021/22. And I still haven’t started working yet due to disability. Complicated 😔 it’s been 2 years. I haven’t done any hours or registered to NMC. But I am more confident now. I am planning to start end of this year or beginning of this next year! Excited!!

Hellooo! I don't think it will ruin your chances, but you do need to get used to seeing bodily fluids such as blood as a nurse! It will be a good suggestion to perhaps gain some experience in a hospital setting to see x

Unfortunately they refused my pin in December saying I'm diabetic. I've completed the msc Adult Nursing, so fully qualified and HR offered a job position. Lsbu didn't graduate me and rcn is a failed system. Its pathetic and a disgrace. If they looked closely as Lucy the midwife those 10+ premature babys would have survived. Clearly some discrimination is going on. I wont give up that easily, 4 yrs of my life was a struggle completing this esp with 12hr x 4 shifts a week on placement with a newborn baby, Ive contacted Acas. Good video 👍🏻
