Love the support for Zappe as he delivered impressive performances so far backing up for Mac. That said, those saying Mac is on the hot seat need to watch Mac’s film and recognize that he is a starter and is stages ahead of Zappe.

I didnt see many deep risky throws from zappe because the pats know thats not the recipe for success with him. it could have been growing pains but the pats offense i saw in baltimore was not the same one i saw in detroit or clevelend

If your really a Pats fan then admit that mac has sucked the end of last year and this season. Hes literally gotten worse right in front of us🤣. 4 int and 2td in 3 whole games against some pretty bad defenses. He was supposed to be better than last season NO EXCUSES. For whatever reason they let Zappe use play action as a crutch but wouldn't let Mac use it or RPO, they started to implement play action and he improved. I don't have the energy to really defend Mac anymore tho. Let them put Zappe in for an extended period of time and we'll see what happens.... I don't think it will be good but I almost need it to happen just to prove it. This team sucks tho. Penalties. Horrible play calling. Arrogant Bill pissing away his legacy. I wish I didn't care....

Great video & I agree with just about everything you said , except for the offensive weapons. It’s not horrible , yeah not great but we have a decent group of wide receivers this year , so you can’t really blame them . I think it’s more of not good enough or mediocre quarterback play and offensive coordinator/play call problems , not getting this weapons in open space or using their strength . Davonte Parker , Jakobi myers , Nelson algohlor , Kendrick Bourne , Damien Harris , rhamkndre stevenson , tyquan Thornton , Jonnu smith & hunter Henry is a decent solid core of weapons in offense . Now if you were talking about a couple years ago back in 2019, & 2020, then yeah for sure you can for sure blame the lack of bad offensive weapons . In 2019 Brady had it badddd, he had a bad Nkeal harry, Phillip Dorsett , an underperforming Mohammad Sanu & an Edelman who was hurt a lot of the season or playing hurt. His best WR & most reliable weapon that year was a freaking rb in James white . Only good weapon that whole year . Still made the playoffs and almost got the one seed but lost those crucial last games instead . In 2020 cam had it bad too , he had nkeal harry , Damiere Byrd , Edelman , moncrief , gunner olszewski , and a young jakobi myers . So about the same as 2019 . But this year the offensive weapons is definitely more & better than 2019 & 2020 .

Mac Jones looked great last year, but we also had an offensive scheme that worked. We lost McDaniels, refused to replace him, have Matt fucking Patricia calling plays, tried a new offensive scheme, and didn't bother getting Jones a single playmaker during the off-season when all those trades were happening. Their best effort was Davante Parker, who is okay but isn't a true alpha receiver. Give Mac Jones a Gabe Davis type receiver, a Stallone to compliment the workhorse that is Meyers, and you'll see a lot more happen.

And bledsoe was playing like ass before Brady came in anyways. These are different situations old timer.

Zappe has done something no QB has done around here since TB12 left....the games are FUN to watch again!! We are not doing predictable plays that will either boringly more the chains a bit or shut us down. And Zappe is a style of QB that we have never seen in these parts. The closest would be when i came onboard Patriots Nation and Steve Grogan was QB (near the end of his career). He was mobile in the pocket, but typically just to run it. Zappe is a surprise. He will dance around out of the pocket and make a pass. He may leave and then run it. He will start running an then pass. FUN.....it FUN to watch!!! I've been sooooo bored!!! He is a breath of fresh air.
And 2 last points. I never felt Mac was a good as folks acted. They wanted a new QB to adore. He seemed like a nice kid, so OK, it's him. But dang he messes up alot and BB has coddled him. I see FAR more potential with Zappe. 2nd, the team has rallied around Zappe in a way I didn't see for Mac (or the Alien lol..not a Cam fan). Not sure why, but they have been responding FAR better to him than anyone else. BB will always go w/the best player. I'm hoping Zappe is out there for a long time, as long as his play supports it!!!

What's sad is that Stafford has probably has a top 5 biggest arm in nfl history. Accurate no, but in pure yeeting force Stafford got an actual bazooka of an arm. Seeing him deteriorate just shows how you can't be at your peak longer than 10-15 years (unless you're tom brady who peaked at 35(

I'm a pats fan and I just think it's a bit dumb to assume anything about bailey Zappie who has only played 3 games for us, and also to assume something about mac Jones who has only played 1 season for us so far.
The issue with the Pats offense isn’t Mac Jones. It’s Matt Patricia and Joe Judge. Belichick needs to consider giving the reigns to Troy Brown or calling up Edelman to call the offensive plays if it continues to be anemic.
Yeah 10th best offense and 4th best rushing attack in league with mediocre weapons. This with Meyers missing 2 games, no 3rd down back and starting QB out 2 games. Fire these two clowns and let Troy run things.
@@MassAppeal966 17th in yards per game, tied for 21st in passing yards, as of week 5. Only thing the offense does well is run (9th). Team is even bottom 14 in points per game.
Keep in mind that the PPG went up without Mac Jones, since you want to add in the “without their starting qb” excuse. I’m not saying that Mac’s a top QB in the league but that the offense took a significant downgrade without McDaniels. Judge had his hands in 2 of the worst league offenses as a head coach, and Patricia had 3 bottom half offenses as head coach (2 of which ranked 20th or worse), 2 of which had Stafford.
I think it's far to early to judge these guys. I remember the big knock on Aaron Rodgers is that he was a system quarter back coming out of ucla. I also quite vividly remember people hyping up Alex Smith for his iq and methodical play style but ultimately Smith was a system qb. Josh Allen was widely considered a bust in his first two years but yet he has dispelled that myth. We really don't know what we have in Zappe, Jones and other rookie/sophmore qbs yet.

That's exactly what your saying but hedging your bets knowing its unlikely anyone can ever be that good again. I compare him much more to literally every other backup that came in and looked good for a few games until D's figured him out. as it is far far more likely he ends up as Matt Cassel instead of Tom Brady.

There's no controversy. Mac is the better QB. Once he's healthy enough to play, he'll play.
This isn't Brady-Bledsoe II either. Tom Brady was better than Drew Bledsoe throughout training camp of 2001. It's why he kept Brady as the starter. Patriots were 5-5 (5-3 with Brady starting) when Belichick declared Brady the starter the rest of the year.
