It’s very simple why Stafford is struggling, Stafford is still a very good qb but he has no O line and he has no one to throw the ball to other than Kupp and Higbee
So basically his lions career 2.0?
He’s been in this situation before but clearly he’s lost a step
It’s literally that simple lol
I hope you give other qbs that pass
@@youtubeshypocrisy it’s literally not. Bad o-line play is not an excuse for him missing receivers, arm becoming a noodle, and him making overall bad decisions. From 2018-2022 cousins had a bottom five offensive line each season. Yet he continued to throw 30+ touchdowns and under 10 picks. Burrow made it to the super bowl with awful protection. It’s not an excuse
As a Ram fan there's other problems not just Stafford, Of course it's his decision making on the field. But it's the O-line not giving him time to throw the ball. Which Stafford reaction is give it to Kupp or higbee every damn time. And to make it short the run game is sucks.
Rams fans exist!!! Who knew

The injuries are killing them, continuity on an OL is important and they havent had any. Hoping as the season goes on they can get healthy on the OL and start running the ball. Then you can work in that PA and give stafford some time to work.
Of all the stars lost.. The Rams miss Andrew Whitworth the most.
so true, so true
The league may have figured out McVays gimmick too, that could be part of it. His entire gimmick is that 90% of the offensive plays are run from the same look, so it's hard to know what coverages to use.
Thats less they figured out the gimmick and more mcvay needs to find a larger variety of plays to run out of a similar look. I did the same thing on madden when i played. Every play looked the same then id custom audible routes for unique unpredictable plays they may stop some plays on good guesses but it will always get some through as long as you truly keep it unpredictable
@@UnholyWrath3277 bruh madden blows
That only worked when he actually ran the ball which made playaction lethal but he ditched the zone run scheme like 3 years ago and now its just a soft and pass heavy offense like most other teams. Even in an era where defenses are playing cover 4 on 1st downs, so many teams still refuse to run the ball. Its even dumber than it sounds.
nope. His offense revolves around compressed formations, which isnt a gimmick, or at least not more or less of a gimmick than using plus splits, If you are reffering to him using 11 personell 90% of the time, i dont think "gimmick" is the right word. Using 1 personell group with more depth as opposeed to multiple personell groupings with less depth is more of a preference. Early on mcvay would use deep shots of PA to take advantage of runnig from compressed looks, but with stafford has used more Check Protections to take deeper shots without protection Still Using Semi Compressed Sets. Using 11 personell 90% of the time, and using compressed sets arent "gimicky" If you want to be technical there is more space between the numbers and hash then numbers and sideline so technically there is more creativity in compressed sets than open ones ("if we are using the numbers as the divider)
Or it was KOC who was the actual genius there
As someone who is a lifelong Lions fan, and was extremely happy for Stafford to get a chance and win a Super Bowl, I guarantee he isn’t the problem. He has 0 protection, McVay is overrated and gets figured out, and he’s most likely dealing with a lingering injury.
MCVSAY IS A SHOWMAN
The Rams won the Super Bowl with no running game last year, but a good pass protecting offensive line. This year they have no running game AND they can't pass block either. We're going nowhere with this combination of problems, and yeah, this would be a great time for coach to show some of that "offensive genius stuff" he's known for, because that offensive line isn't going to magically go back to last year's level.
And they struggled vs the niners, couldn’t close out the buccs, and couldn’t do anything once OBJ went down. Even before OBJ went down it came down to him winning quick because the line wasn’t holding up very well to start the game and they couldn’t run at all.
Spoiled fans. Some teams would love a trip to the super bowl lol. Stafford is having one bad stretch and people are dropping videos on how bad he is. Give me a break. Your analysis is 100% spot on though.
We have a lot more problems than Stafford on the Rams right now.
I think Stafford is injured. He keeps missing throws even when he makes the right reads and the oline has sucked.
@@youtubegm8256 he is. Except this time it’s his actual throwing arm. They need to bench him and let him heal fully. This is dangerous
Our whole offense has fallen apart from last season. It’s not just Matt’s fault but it’s really putting a spotlight on his down falls. He’s not a very mobile QB so he can’t save himself when the O line lets 2 guys through and there’s not open receiver. He’s not very consistent, I mean, he threads some needles and can run a short pass offense like hell but he can’t necessarily hit the outside shoulder to a fading receiver on call. Robert woods and OBJ made a lot of snags for him last year and got him some YAC he’s missing those for sure.
@@Vader-San the more hits he takes, the higher the risk for injury
@@therealjaystone2344 exactly. Time to bench him. He’s got plenty left in the tank, still relatively young. They better not ruin it for him
To me, there's a pretty clear correlation between sacks/pressures & Stafford's performance. Which would honestly affect any QB's performance. Your stat lines at 0:37 & 0:54 show exactly what I'm talking about. First 8 games of the 2021 season, 7 sacks - that's 0.875 per game & he had great stat lines. Some of the best in the league. Last 9 games, 23 sacks - that's 2.55 per game & his stats tanked.
This year, in 5 games he's been sacked 21 times already, that's 4.2 per game & now, his stats are worse than the previous 9 game downslide. Beyond the sacks, his offensive line is usually crumbling as soon as the ball is snapped, he's under pressure from multiple directions & is running for his life. He's getting an average of about a half a second to find an open man & throw it. Kupp/Higby seem to be the only ones consistently getting open in that time, so of course that's where he's throwing. In the Dallas game, he actually got a few seconds of protection a couple times & BOOM, two of the highest yardage plays they've had all season & the first 2 to go over 30 yards.
Another factor that people seem to overlook is that Stafford has become fairly injury prone over the years of being known for his toughness in Detroit. At 34, he' seems fully aware of his "glass cannon" status & does what he has to to avoid getting hurt. I'd compare him to a spell caster in an MMO - super powerful when protected, but if the tanks goes down, he's done for & he knows it. He just can't take those hits like he used to.
I agree with your entire comment except that last part. "Injury prone" is strictly not true, especially becuase that usually comes with the connotation that the player won't play or will be hindered by their injury if they do play. Stafford occasionally gets banged up, hurts a hand or shoulder or ankle, but there is literally never a noticeable difference in his play becuase of it and he never leaves the field unless forced to. It also doesn't happen more than any other qb in the league.
He doesn't need a tank to soak damage, he needs time to cast a spell, that's pretty different imo. Another video game analogy can be made with the absolute lack of run support he is getting. Spell casters are only good if there is a melee/physical damage character to supplement so that the enemies can't spec into magic protection entirely. Right now he is a lone spell caster with no time going up against opponents with full magic resistance. He is getting no time at all and defenses are strictly worried about his passing.
Also something that makes the sacks/pressures go up = performance go down more clear is the 2 games the Rams won, he was only sacked 2 times total, 1 per game. In the 3 games they've lost, he's been sacked 19 times, over 6 per game. It's an incredibly clear distinction.
@@_KingRaz I guess I could've worded it differently, I can't think of a tougher QB in the league. I was more getting at the combination of his age & years of getting thrashed in Detroit. That stuff builds up over time - he's not 25 anymore & he knows it. Sometimes it just seems to me like he's panic throwing &/or making decisions he wouldn't have made 5-10 years ago when there's 1000lbs of man coming at him.
Love the additional analogy too, definitely agree with his need for cast time. Stafford never really had any notable run game to help him though. Even a half decent run-game would open up a lot of possibilities for him.
@@Krazyk007x2 I'm a lions fan and agree with your assessment.. he got injured his rookie year with a shoulder thanks to Julius peppers. But besides his back and finger over his last couple years in Detroit he was tougher than a 2 dollar steak.. we failed to protect him here in Detroit and you can look at his numbers and when he is sacked less and has more time he has the arm to get it wherever.. also we never had a running game here in Detroit.. our last 1,000 yard runner was Reggie bush.. granted back then the NFL was still letting a running back carry it 20 times a game.. that isnt really the case anymore cuz it burns out running backs even faster. But no blocking or run game will lead to problems like he is having this year
@@ezio_Winchester Goff has better stats this year, Stafford has always turned the ball over all.
It’s their offensive line that is the problem as to why he’s struggling
@Anthony Mercado Kupp was playing like that before Odell came but ok 😂 his production actually slowed down when Odell got there
@Anthony Mercado You’re an idiot.
@Anthony Mercado bro you dont know stafford if you think he was missing throws like that before lol but yes regardless of the sacks he is just declining (he is known for putting deep balls up where only his guy can get it but picks do come when you have to force the ball down the field every game with a trash team hence why goliday isnt doing good with the giants)
He's trash and always been trash. He probably always will be trash. Hence the nickname Matthew Trashford. Last year was a lucky fluke.
@Anthony Mercado bro Kupp is still top 3 this season, idk what NFL you’re watching bc sounds to me like you’re hating to hate🤷♂️
More like the rams are trying to run their entire offense through kupp and that’s a very inconsistent game plan.
Name another weapon than higby? If you watch the tape you’ll see the other receives not being able to beat their 1v1 matchups and w the Oline struggling there’s nothing worse than receivers that cannot get open.
@@nathanieldoyle6652 Matt just doesn’t like throwing to him for some reason. It’s not like he’s getting clamped stafford just doesn’t throw to him

who would have thought that after a year of film teams where gonna figure out the statue cant run 😂😂
3centers and 5 guards in 5 games and they only kept 8 Oline this season. It looked like a practice squad line up against the 3 best Ds in the league because that's exactly what it was. Blaming it on Stafford is ridiculous 🙄
1.) Defenses have been successful in making Stafford MOVE HIS FEET. You don't have to sack Stafford to slow him down, you just have to move the pocket.
2.) His injuries are definitely bothering him a bit.
3.) A lot of Stafford's EARLY SUCCESS was from the emergence of COOPER KUPP as a bonified SUPER STAR. First half of the season (last year) dude was averaging like 1.25 TD's per game, and 125 yards.
1.25 TD"s per game.....as a WR.
2nd half of the season, his TD/game ratio got cut in half. Though, he came close to maintaining the yardage.
I miss Whitworth
Wait… Atlanta almost came back from 28-3?! Lmao
Stafford's Offense Line is so bad right now. He's getting pressured basically every play and and almost all the starters are out for OL.
So basically every other qb?

What? The oline is practically the same other than Andrew retiring. Stafford has had issues for years and Detroit had very good olines for most of his career. Especially towards the end of his Detroit days. He had a great guard, pro bowl center. Okay RT before they drafted Sewell.
@@Greendeath312 They’re on the 3rd string center, no??
The Stafford - Goff trade is weirdly gonna go down as a successful trade for both teams. Rams overpaid, but got a Super Bowl. Lions got a serviceable QB through a rebuild and two 1sts.
This would have been a lopsided trade in Lions favor if Rams hadn't won that Super Bowl.
It's just weird how it benefitted everyone (besides maybe Goff).
It didn't benefit Goff - who had to play for the Lions.
Rob Gronkowski decided to retire rather than play for the Lions, that's how bad the Lions are.
@@RCmack definitely benefited Goff he’s had his best season in a while thus far. Established himself as a starter in this league.

This is a lot like the situation brady is in right now, both have no offensive line. Both still good quaterbacks but not as dynamic and relay more on a good offensive line to really reach there max potential. Think both qbs will be fine and they could be seeing eachother in playoffs again!
Brady is doing a better job of protecting the ball though. This has always been a problem with Stafford. He doesn't know when to just hold on to it and take the sack, or try to throw it away. Too often does he try to force the throw. With a team like the lions, no one really cared, because in most peoples eyes, every game was lost, and if he completed the pass, it would give them a good chance of getting a win. More often than not it cost the team
Don’t ever compare stafford to brady.
Don’t compare Fantasy stat padding Stafford to Tom Brady
Stafford is the only one who knows if he is truly struggling physically or mentally or both. If he can't give a 90 percent or even 80 percent to the team, he would know what would be best for the team. It's we not me mentality. So if he would be hurting the team by playing, I think he would rather step aside and give the reigns to someone else than to hurt the team. That's what I think because he doesn't seem like the selfish type. I could be wrong.
As a 49er fan I am glad that we got the w over the Rams and I know of the Rams are still a great football team but it just seems like the Rams are a little different than last year like they don't have the same fire they had last year.... It could be a super bowl hangover but we still have a ways to go in the season and anything can happen now did I really hate that the Rams won super bowl yes but it's another trophy to the NFC West and I was happy that Matthew Stafford got a super bowl he deserved it
It's funny. Jared Goff has a higher career passer rating than Stafford, a higher completion percentage, and a better interception rate than Stafford.
Man realize is he struggling is because of the O-line falling apart which is something I did foresaw with Whitworth retiring. I wasn’t confident in the o-line they had and now they are falling apart and multiple people getting hurt. He’s had 5 different lineups so far and multiple changes during the games as well. He hasn’t had the time to throw the ball and their run game has been really bad and the rams offense relies on the run game for their pass game which is play action heavy and only way that works is if you run the ball well. Stafford is a very rhythm based QB if he struggles multiple times without getting anything he’s gonna struggle all game. It’s not just him as well, tho he has not been making the best decisions the playcalling had not been the best with him not really passing the ball around to people outside of Kupp and Higbee. Robinson has had little targets and receptions because I don’t think McVay is using him right at all and needs to fix that. They need to fix their o-line issue if they want to do well maybe by trading or signing one, every other part of the roster has been good but their o-line sucks a lot
You can make this case either every single team buddy ahahha wtf is this game
No one team has the same lineup 5 years straighthb
@@hotspot131638837 the front office’s job is to replace those holes? Clearly they didn’t do that with witworth
If tart didn't drop that interception last year, they would not have come close to winning a ring. that pass was horrible
I mean that line is awful
Matt Stafford had had all the pieces lasts year and Coach McVay to get S.B. this year they probably won't be in the Playoffs.
The offense is clearly built around great o-line play that simply hasn't been there for sometime however Stafford was great in the playoffs I believe he had 11 total TDs
I was kind of wondering why Stafford was not playing that good, then, I analyzed very well and ohhh surprise, the o line is garbage, every defensive man can come through it and at least touch Stafford’s back, let’s not forget the defense as well, really really bad, this is an all not just a player.
The Rams as a whole have been bad, but it's to be expected when they put everything but the kitchen sink down to win it all in 2021, and it paid off, and now they're dealing with the aftermath.
It's the O-Line. Stafford needs a great o-line to be effective. And the defense is not as good now that Von Miller is gone.
Rams defence is still very good. They were the number 1 defence in the league in 2020 without Von and were 7-1 beford they traded for him. Rams didn't just lose Von, they also lost Darious Williams, SJD and Donte Deayon. It doesnt help that Leonard Floyd has regressed and Rams corners is Jalen Ramsey and practice squad players.
Inspite of all this, Defence of Rams did enough to win the 49ers and Cowboys games but offense failed to deliver and kept going 3 and out which puts them on the field a lot.
See, now y'all know how Lions fans felt for years.
No lions don’t know how to draft and made some bad decisions in that front office
It's crazy how we thought Robinson was going to ball out with the Rams but it seems like so far he hasn't, there are times where I feel like is he even on the team?
I know right, I thought they would have opened stuff up to get Robinson some plays but McVay hasn’t been using him the way he should be used. I’m not sure what to do but they than make plays to get him open specifically because I’m not a coach of course
as a bears fan, he gave the same feeling last year. maybe something to due with both teams having atrocious o-lines and even worse qb play
As a bears fan I’m surprised Robinson is struggling
Coming from the bears the la rams got ROBBED! Lol Robinson has never been a beast.
Who’s we
That’s what I have been saying, Stafford almost half the season looked like the dogshit and only won because they had the best defense in the league, just as the nfc championship, niners should’ve won if that safety catches that int.
Matt was definitely good for them, but that ring on him boosted him on the way overrated level
Stafford is always "playing hurt" when he loses and healthy when he wins. Stafford basically had three Era's in Detroit. There was his always injured and can never play era during first couple seasons. Then there was the lob the ball to Megatron era. Then he had his elite years in which Calvin Johnson, Reggie Bush, and Every nasty defender they had were long gone. If he played like that when Detroit had weapons, history would be much different. He has elite arm talent, but no field awareness and takes dumb chances. There is a reason why he throws so many pick 6's. All of his comeback wins in Detroit were a result of him always playing like hot garbage in the 1st half of games. He had to go to a completely stacked team to win.
When I used to live in Detroit I was a heavy lions fan but was pissed how he always switched gears like he could easily win games but always throw picks like all the time lol. Almost like he was blowing some games on purpose 🤔
He's cocky because of his arm. He takes chances and throws alot of interceptions. He's Cooper Cup crazy.
Stafford has always been a good, but not a great QB. I would always argue with friends about how he's not as good as people say he was. As a Bears fan, we played against him for 10 years, so we had a good idea of how he was as a QB. Some of those peak Lions years, he had Calvin Johnson, who was basically unstoppable. This made other NFL fans outside the NFC North think he was better than he actually was imo
He was bad last year, people just drank the Koolaid because the ball bounced his way. He has always been able to air it out with the best of them, but his decision-making has always been suspect. The Rams losing 8 starters due to selling out for last year's SB was a short-term win. But now things will only get harder. Can he overcome it? I don't think so, he will be the same Matt Stafford. This time with increased pressure.
Welcome to Stafford 45 years as a Lions fan and I never saw him as a great QB I had a series love/hate for him while he was in Detroit.
As a Bears fan, I thought he was good but not great. He would have his moments, but other times he would just be straight bad lol
He was the best QB you ever had. Lions fans are brainless.
@@DarkCloud3000 I never said he wasn’t the best the Lions ever had just that I never saw him as great.
I’m sure you’ll blame his season so far on his line or receivers. 20th in QB ratings with 8 int and a whole 6 TD’s.
Hell even Goff is having a better year 😂
@@michaelmaas5544 Of course the Down syndrome Lions fan uses the ghetto laugh emoji. That’s all I need to know about your stupidity. And if Goff is so great, why aren’t the Lions winning?
Swap out Matthew Stafford with any other quarter back on this team and how many do you think will clearly out perform him? Ten, at most? There are several issues on this team. Obviously the Oline has been disastrous. 20+mil$ per year is tied up in a receiver that hasn't caught over 100 yards yet this entire season. Run game is nonexistent. Stafford needs to play better, too. You cant throw picks just because you have no time or your #2 isnt getting open over 5 games. Being limited by your receiving core is a real thing. Remember how the Rams instantly got WAY better when OBJ joined last year?
But I don't think hes the issue. Also, personally I don think injuries are really hurting his play much. Sure, there are one or two throws a game he probably doesn't miss if he's 100%, but a lot of the poor plays are just bad decision making induced by pressure, lack of run games, and lack of downfield options.
Anyway, just my opinion. Great vid.
Everyone said Stafford was washed and never won a playoff game after the trade was made. Was doubted the entire season. Everyone said we traded the farm to have a first round exit and next thing you know we’re playing the SB in our stadium. All those that doubted all season long were wishing for a Bengals win and then we shut their mouths up as well. NOTHING to say after that, Stafford has a ring in his first season with an actually well ran team. What can anyone say? It ALL paid off would rather the 9ers own us 6-1 or whatever in the regular season against us but we won when it mattered. Hearts of 9ers/Stafford doubters dropped into their stomachs when Kupp both caught that long pass before the FG in the Divisional, as well as their game-winning drive in the SB (in our stadium 😎). We did what we bet everything on in year one and whatever if we miss the playoffs this season? Still got the ring and Lombardi at the end of the day!
Also should add Kupp had the single greatest WR season in NFL history. Triple crown, OPOY, and SB MVP. Jerry did those as well in DIFFERENT seasons. Kupp achieved them in the one. Peace ✌🏼
Stop crying
The O-line is a mess. McVay’s unwilling to adjust to it and start throwing quick slants and screens. They don’t even try to run the ball, so it’s all on his arm. Try throwing the ball 40+ times a game and being under constant duress. Not a winning strategy.
Him and Russell will get along just well now 😂
I’m laughing cause the rams bought the ring and the real stafford is showing
He's got Payton Manning Old Noodle Arm Disease.... OMAHA!!!!!!!!
You try having an O-Line that gives you milliseconds to throw the ball. I don't care if you're Brady or Mahomes, no QB works well under that kind of constant pressure. Except Joe Burrow. At least until he reaches the SB.
Burrow is only 25 too, & doesn't have nearly the miles on him Stafford has. We'll see how he does if he takes 8 more years of that abuse.
When the best member of his O-Line retired the quality of the O-Line died.
The Rams Offensive line is dreadful, no time to throw
I love videos like these 👍
Bad O Line and no running game = more sacks and picks. Pretty simple. Bengals O line was an anomaly last year but it ended up costing them the Super Bowl in the end.
Put simply we run and fail on first or second down, end up in third and long and stafford is pressured to fast, where do y’all think he’d go on a third and long under pressure? To kupp, the problem rn is our offensive game plan is terrible and our line is flustered constantly moving and changing positions, our defense has been good( tackling problem same as last year), stafford is doing the best he can, kupp is balling, the line isn’t holding up for the run or pass, and our OC is calling terrible plays (Stafford is not the problem at all)
i love how bro says he fell off after playing the first 2 playoff games in 2021, isnt that just called playing a better team?
Also. Stafford didnt really "fall off" as much as he claims. He mentioned the Tartt dropped pick but ignored Kupp and Skowronek dropped 2 wide open touchdown throws from Stafford. He also ignored in that same San Francisco game Jalen Ramsey dropped a pick 6.
Lets be real aswell. As good of a team Rams were, they dont win the superbowl without Stafford as they won the last 3 playoff games off clutch 4th quarter gamewinning drives where Stafford had insane throws. Playoff run by Matt is very underrated.
He had help but noone, not even Tom Brady wins superbowl by himself.
@@go.dusopp8566 The 'Tartt dropped pick' might just be the most overblown thing I've ever heard. There was still 10 minutes left in a 3 point game and yet everyone acts like if he made that interception at midfield the game was over right there and then. What a joke
@@go.dusopp8566 Better quarterbacks wouldn't have needed the "clutch 4th quarter come back" The 2021 Rams had more top to bottom talent than any other team in the NFL that year. If Stafford did anything, he brought them down.

@@dustinroberson1865 If 2 teams are tied with 10 minutes left then theoretically both teams have a 50% chance of winning. Since the Rams were trailing by 3 their chances were already less than 50% at that point. You have said NOTHING.
How do you expect anyone to go through their reads and make good decisions when you don’t even have the time to think because your O line can’t stop anyone. Stafford thrives as a gun slinger. You win some and you lose some but when the run game is flat and he has to throw the ball 40 times while being sacked or chased out of the pocket every down, it’s pretty hard. He throws to Kupp because he seems to be the only one getting open. But also because he has no time for a play to develop. Any quarter back would struggle on that offense right now.
Every time a NFL team struggles

They only do that to white Quarterbacks...Black quarterbacks get fingers pointedv elsewhere
Lions fans watched all this for more than a decade. Dude isn't bad, definitely a game breaker arm, but he also can break your back with silly picks. Could throw for 500 and 5 TDs but still find a way to lose (it happened)
If a guy threw for 500 yards and 5 TDs, its not his fault. That just speaks to how badly the defense played. Even after all that, the Lions were probably down, and needed Stafford to throw haymakers.
Come on now You can be Dan Manio, Tom Brady Peyton Manning Joe Montana all roll up in one and you will still not win in Detroit
@@taytay8283 with that 2014 those qbs would’ve won.
@@dr.j5642 Or his final stat line involved 3 interceptions and a fumble. Not saying that was the case, but never say never.
@@dustinroberson1865 you'd have to parse out those stats too, though. A lot of Stafford's INTs come when he threw a perfect ball, but the ball hits the receivers hands, and is deflected into the hands of a defender. Or, Stafford throws the right ball, but the receivers runs the wrong routes, which happened in the Super Bowl on a pass to Van Jefferson. I've watched every single snap of Stafford's career, multiple times, so I have a good sense of what happened in his career. He does throw some bad ones too, of course, but every QB does. That's just part of the game, but the overall turnover numbers don't really tell the full story when it comes to Stafford, for all of the reason I detailed above.
He has no one defending him. It’s not fair to blame him. What can he do with these players on top of him and his defenders falling asleep. Do your job and he will be able to do his part.

Jared Goff is 1-4 and if Stafford had his line at the rams Stafford would be 4-1
Why is nobody getting on McVay for the Rams’ offensive struggles? Their offense is so predictable, they literally run the same 3 plays every time lmao. He also can’t adjust. People always bring up his 48-2 record or whatever it is when leading at halftime, but choose to leave his 12-32 record when trailing at halftime out of it. People don’t realize that as soon as the Rams go down multiple possessions, they shit their pants and don’t know what to do.
I'm a lions fan and didn't wanna see him leave even if it finally started our rebuild. We failed to protect him here in Detroit and now look at Detroit oline when healthy they are one of the best in the league.. last year I think he had a bit more drive and determination than he does this year. Stafford was always a gun slinger similar to Brett farve . Brett had a hall of fame career and threw for a bunch of yards and tds but he also threw a ton of picks. Stafford has always had lots of yards and over 20 tds every year but also would throw 10 to 20 picks a year. I would agree with this video in saying he is probably dealing with an injury that he can just tough it out like he did in Detroit but he isnt in his 20s anymore and 10 years in the league wears on you . Especially in Detroit.. I'm surprised when Stafford left that he didn't have Grey hair already lol
Stafford went trick or treating and got too scared tbh
He got that ring, now he’s just playing to get paid.
Stafford going back to his Detroit days:
F*ck it, Megatron is down there somewhere
F*ck it, Kupp is down there somewhere
Someone said it Matt winning that Super Bowl closer to Nick foles winning a ring than anything else. A stacked team who had an average QB who got hot at the right time
This! Thank you.
You might want to put them drugs down if you think Stafford and Nick Foles are the same come on man that's just silly
@@voretex4202 Matt never won anything in Detroit. Not saying they are the same players but their rings are comparable. Definitely more of a foles ring than Rogers ring
Start Wolford, bench Stafford til his elbow heals and we get some O Line help.
Having a mobile QB for a couple weeks could definitely pay off in the long run.
Just my opinion, Wolford has definitely gotten it done when Goff had that thumb injury
I hope the Rams figure it out soon!
57% completion and a pick with zero TDs is gettin done in his one start vs a crappy AZ team? What the hell you smokin
Whaiits ur best offensive strings
Dumb question. No one is going to do well getting sacked 5-7 times a game. Run game is below average to make things worse, and the WR3 is out for half the season, with the WR2 failing to live up to expectations. What does anyone expect Stafford to do?
Stafford is not the problem.
Rams have been a mess so far this year.
I have a very simple answer for you: the O-Line is riddled with injuries and Allen Robinson can’t get open. Stafford has two second to throw the ball and if Kupp isn’t open his only really option is to check it down, throw it away, or take the sack. This is a good team and they’ll figure it out, just maybe not this year.
You wanna know why the Rams suck? Heres a quick summary:
vs 49ers- 48 passes and only 16 runs in a game they were only down 5 going into the 4th qtr.
vs Cowboys- 42 passes and only 15 runs in a game they only trailed by 6 at halftime.
vs Bills- 41 passes and only 17 runs in a game tied at halftime.
Even in the 2 games they won, they only handed it off a combined 42 times. Mcvay seems to have fallen into the same lame trap every other hotshot young coach not named Shanahan or Sirianni falls into. Get too pass happy, lose your offense's identity, lose games. This isnt about Stafford's elbow. Its about Mcvay wanting to show off all his cool passing concepts. Run the damn ball and go win some games.
Next time any of yall watch a rams game, i will legitimately pay you 500 dollars if you can count to 5 mississippi (go as fast as you want)
It was great winning the SB. Having said that picking up a shiny new toy in Tutu Atwell instead of getting Creed Humphrey in the draft is proving to be a big mistake!
"Stafford hasn't been good for quite some time" while showing a catchable pass tipped by the WR and INTed. It was a little high but 100% catchable.
happens to every super bowl team. teams snatch up their free agents and it shows next season
It's easy to look good when the officials are bending over backwards to make sure your team plays local at the Superbowl to justify an unpopular move into a fairweather fandom city.
He can’t play in the cold, that detroit dome does so much to make you a worse quarterback in any kind of weather.
Da fuck you talking about? Ford Field is one of the coldest domes on the inside especially on the inside. If you actually visited it, you would have known it.
No offensive line, no run game, Robinson not producing.. Sacked most in the league..
You remember Ramseys dropped pick in the championship game. Dunno why everyone goes on about the tart drop being a game saver.
Mcvay ain't laughing about that Cole Strange pick anymore
Stafford has always been mediocre.
Stafford has always been a streaky player he has years where he balls out and years where hes awful look at any of his past seasons and you will realize this fact
No o-line, meaning he has to throw quicker, but aside from Kupp, he doesn’t have any receivers who can get open that quickly. Higbee, his tight end is acceptable, because he’s long and can make contested catches, but outside or the REDZONE, that’s not super helpful.
The run game isn’t nearly as important in 2022 than it was in 2012 even. That said, it’s still important to help keep defenses honest. And their running backs aren’t scary either. And when it comes to catching passes, they really don’t have a quality pass-catching back.
Stafford misses that KOC, it's painfully obvious. Sorry Matt.
Well when u let all ur players walk in the offseason its gonna be hard to compete.
Stop running your team like it's Madden lol. Actually draft and develop players instead of buying old vets.
The entire offensive line is injured. The starting center was studying to get into the police academy two months ago.
If you notice - when he plays bad, he is getting sacked a lot... Any QB getting hit, getting pressured, getting sacked, plays bad
The biggest reason why LA is struggling and Stafford is looking bad is the RUN GAME. As a defense, it's pretty easy to read an offense when their only option is to pass. None of the Rams RBs have shown any signs of being solid players and are really LA's crutch. It's the reason why teams like the Giants are 4-1 right now. All though they aren't flashy they have a solid pass and run threat with solid defense. (Never thought id say that).
The O-Line is pretty horrendous, but tbh the difference between Stafford and Goff are pretty much on par considering how good Goff has been playing as of late.
His injuries are not helping him. Maybe a retirement in the near future when his body can't take the punishment anymore.
Not buying the injury excuse for the simple fact he's always thrown way too many int's and made questionable decisions at critical times I respect Matt, but there's way to many excuses for when these athletes play bad💯💯💯
Rams only got Kupp and Higbee. The Oline is not holding up and Akers hasn’t been the same since he got hurt.
Big Ben had elbow surgery and it did his arm in too
Hello you have Allen Robinson? Are they beefing or something?
The change in the 2021 season is when there offensive line began to fall apart. That has now become so obvious without a running game. Oh by the way they can't stop the run either. So many QB's would be struggling. Problem is they have no high draft picks and are going to be lucky to win 9 or 10 games for years to come.
update after PANTHERS game: 1,576 yards (5th), 6 tds (17th), 8 INTs (33rd), 46.5 qbr (20th)
Super Bowl hangover.
It's called the jay cutler effect. You can't play the game from your back.
The falcons actually came so close to undoing the curse put on them by Tom Brady in the sb in that week 2 game
It’s kinda funny how the second stafford leaves Detroit, they get a top 5 o line and a very effective run game something stafford never had in detroit
It's not Stafford, it's the scheme. Bellichek gave the league the playbook on how to beat the Rams and some teams have the personnel to do it and some don't.
Statistically speaking, show me a QB with the worst rush game and practice squad linemen who do well….
