.. as a hobbyist are there schematics available to someone like me so I can build a filter based pre? I was thinking of pulling the innards out of a wah pedal but scrapped that idea because it was too cumbersome.
Here we go. It's a new thing on the lobster channel. "the Brian & Lobster show". It kind of reminds me of the Andertons show. That was some funny stuff. Thanks for having fun with what you do. Until we groove again.
What a great tone! Love that filter! I think I’ve seen this bass before maybe on a channel that he has possibly? Whammy’s are sik on bass! I have my new custom with one that I’d love for you to review. I’ve found that minor movements on the whammy gives you a very cool Lo Fi sound very cool he still has this bass after all these years!! Thanks to Brian for letting you review the Shit Ray!!
Im currently on my 4th Kahler bass trem; fitted to Sandberg Lionel short scale; previous were Fender Japan Mustang bass and then 2 Japanese Fender Jazz Bass medium scale (JB62M) and one was fretless🤦♂
This is definitely one of the most unique stingray configurations I’ve seen! And speaking of unique stingray configurations when are we going to see the Mint o ray back on the channel? 😀
@@christurner6138 I have a Nordy Bigman and Blademan, might do the video using the filter preamp to explore the characteristics of each in a different light
The coils definetly have 8 coils, but how they are wired is mere speculation. It's supposed to have 4 pairs of humbuckers and then all in parallel into a single output.
The way he stared at camera.... Hard to look at what lobster was doing with him doing that. Had to tell myself to pick one like Tamatoa told Moana. *eye twitch* I can't concentrate.... Yeah pick one. Pick one!
Ground your poles! Check out my 'fixing the buzz' video on the Charvel San Dimas. You can use the same technique with the copper tape on the pickups on yours.
@@LowEndLobster i love that video. However, the poles below the pickups are sealed not exposed lol. Do i have "slice it open, lobstee"? "desperate... Lol. Will it damage my pickups? Thank you.
white finish, maple neck, black pickguard is such a sick looking combo. very dope, my friends
That's awesome. I'm building a filter based pre-amp to put in my Sub5 and this confirms how great one will sound on that humbucker.

Lobster your vids are not only super helpful and informative , they’re always very entertaining 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you!
A custom pre-amp, whammy bar and mysterious liquid under the pick guard? Sign me up.
Very interesting modifications, thanks Lobster.
Hi Brian.
XD thanks Philip

Thanks Rick!
That stuff is crazy good, those filter based preamps are amazing imo...better than regular ones.
Who made the multicoil pickup ? Sounds great
Man, I'd LOVE to hear a HH Multi-coil bass!
Reminds me of Dave Larue with the trem work! He had a gold one. Used it on the Dregs album.
Sweet demo! Gotta love the mojo oozing off of the Shitray! Basses are meant to be played!
That is incredible! Just call that one "The fun machine."
Sick looking color combo and amazingly dirty maple neck that looks roasted all while still sounding amazing. Good job!
Glad you kept the cat in the intro Lobster!
Very Cool! the variations in tone is tremendous and the whammy tops it all off.

Multi coil eastern European pickup? Are you guys sure this pickup isn't branded SBS somewhere? They are a Slovakian company that used to make pickups
Just curious LEL do you happen to know of any company that currently makes a retrofit multi coil bass pickup similar to the Wal pickup?

I've had great conversations with Nuno since I got the NFP DUO. Been thinking of getting one for fretless Harley Benton I have
May be a pickup from Rautia guitars .. I’ve been looking at those for a good minute . Sounds amazing
Lobster I really need the wiring map for this thing, I'm building one of these, please !!!! let met this guy!
I like the bass. The E string sounds a little dead compared to the other strings. I liked the passive tone better than the filter tone.
sounds alot like old strings tbh that's how they tend to sound like after a long while.
Love it, it isn't for me, but it isn't supposed to be! There is modding and then there is this thing haha.
Hello Great vid, would love one in a 5 string version.
Hey Lob, is there any chance that you would have a giveaway?
BK! You’re my boy Blue!
This was a fun vid ahahaha

im pretty sure that lobster sold the mint o ray
@@phipschi4255 ah crap thats a bummer... thanks for letting me know!
👀🤯 This bass is nutso!
Amazing superior bass i love this sound
Wouldn’t be my main bass but man does it look fun!
Please build your own version with NPF filter and humbucker!
I will! I have the preamp handy and the pickups of choice. :)
@@LowEndLobster What are the "pickups of choice"?
@@LowEndLobster If you need "help" with that choice, I know a guy that makes them ;-)

@@LowEndLobster Right on! Those are great pickups!
I was admittedly (not so) slyly implying that I make multicoil pickups in MM covers ;-)
How many coils the pickup have, and how are those coils wired?
The coils definetly have 8 coils, but how they are wired is mere speculation. It's supposed to have 4 pairs of humbuckers and then all in parallel into a single output.
I think they're one humbucker per string (one coil per pole). I think they're setup in series or something, not sure exactly.
i have one .'85. with a kahler. 40 bux. from washburn. added a kramer tie down bar, for a 24th fret, added the first D drop. waste me.
Does it keep tune?

O_O you cannot look away
Hello. How to fix a noisy dimarzio ultra jazz bass pickup when touched. Installed on a squier deluxe jazz bass

Does Bebe like Brian 🤔
Review and story time! Fun video! Maybe you should wear a mask... the claw seems contagious.
Not "dubbie" enough... You and your stool should be moving around the room, just by sub waves and nothing else🔊
Intonation much? XD
Destroying the resale value with these types of mods just means it's your forever bass.
Is... Is that not the point of having an instrument?
I love the idea of a tremolo bass 🤷♂
