Thank you so much for the amazing tribute ❤️ It means the world to me, and I’m honored to have my music covered by such a talented drummer. Seeing you enjoy drumming to my music made it even more special. Keep rocking! 🎶
@@The8BitDrummer Thank you so much! It means a lot that you’ve enjoyed my music for so long 🤩 and I’m absolutely honored such a great talented drummer covered my songs!
I barely ever touched Newgrounds even for its Flash content, never for the art or music sections. Honestly, I didn't even know it HAD an audio portal until well after RUclips had taken its hold in the online space. It wasn't until Flash was being shut down and people like 2LeftThumbs were putting up retrospectives and FNF became a thing that I actually learned in-depth about the bigger mascots like Pico, Tankman, The Lock Legion, Madness, Stickmin, Fancy Pants, and all the rest.
Peak, just actual peak. Newgrounds music just feels so early to mid 2000s in the best way. I dont really see music like this anymore, it's kind of a shame since it's got such a unique feel. Also I would love to see Everhood music be covered. I shall keep recomending it in streams.
It's so nice to be able to hear these songs again. The other day, I remember thinking of the tune of Chaoz Fantasy, but I couldn't remember the name to be able to find it. Hearing Polar 240 brought back another great memory I wish I hadn't forgotten! Choaz Japan I remember thanks to Castle Crashers where I first heard it.
While I never actually used Newgrounds, I _do_ know a bunch of classic songs from there mostly because of Geometry Dash and also a few from Chaos Faction!
The name ParagonX9 reminded me of something but I couldn't put my finger on it, until the second song played. I think I may listened to it from a Windows Flash parody on that platform? I was kind of obsessed with checking out these types of Flash media back then.
I DEFINITELY heard paragonx9 chaoz fantasy. I downloaded the masterlinkx mod for super smash bros brawl which edited all sorts of stuff such as character textures, menu cards, stages, music, victory animations, etc and Chaoz Fantasy was one of the songs he used on the Battlefield stage. Later on I started adding my own textures and music and I even made my own mod of Flat Zone 2, Oddfellows Local 151 based on the REM song. I was just starting to get very heavy into real music and I loved REM starting out. Granted the hack wasn't very good and poorly optimized, which is to say, I didn't edit a lot and I didn't know how to best sink audio, level, etc file size. Still, funny how I haven't heard that song in like 14 years, maybe a bit more recently, in just that one context, and yet I can instantly recall a string of memories relating to a place and time on it. SLAP an F in the chat for getting old folks
I've been feeling like crap on a piece of burnt toast today and this is probably the best time for this to have come up. I'm 12 years old again. Thank you so much.
Man, Polar240 is ahead of its time! I remember hearing a compressed version of it in the flash game Territory War, but when I looked up the full version, my brain exploded! It's pure, epic bliss!
Oh goodness... This is almost making me emotional. Newgrounds was basically my first "online home", I spent so much time on there, so many hours into playing games both amazing and mediocre, watching countless flash movies etc. I even dabbled into making flash movies myself for a bit, but couldn't really get the hang of it (I was also 13 or something), I remember scribbling madness characters and FF sprites in schoolbooks and whatnot... Especially with Final Fantasy, back when I encountered it in some way, it was through sprite animation movies on Newgrounds. When I discovered later that emulators exist, and I actually emulated the first FF on NES, oh man... I was so excited, it was unreal. I was literally dancing and jumping around all through the living room (again, I was 13 or something, so don't be too harsh haha). It took me a while actually to specifically check out the audio portal, but I eventually did. Thing is, when I first started to save music digitally at all (so when I had my first own PC), I saved a good chunk of Newgrounds music. There are some files that I always kept backups of, and always saved and transferred over to when I got a new machine, and my music collection was always one of them, from the very start. So even right now, I have the Newgrounds music that I first saved well over a decade ago with me. Hearing this feels so nostalgic, it feels BRUTALLY nostalgic really, and the thing is... It sounds so good, too. Man, the drums go along SO WELL with those songs, and having known them for so long, it creates a feeling that I don't even know how to describe. Mindblowing, really. But yeah, this was so, so good. Hot damn am I glad that I found this!
Ahhh, my childhood! I played an absolute TON of flash games growing up, and remember loving ParagonX9's music (Chaoz Impact was always my favourite). Imagine when I learned their music was featured in Castle Crashers!! You crushed them all, but man you NAILED that Chaoz Japan cover. Polar 240 is also a track I love - I remember it being in a worms-like flash game, maybe "Territory War"? Thanks for covering my childhood :)
Given how much influence ParagonX9's music has had on the internet and where their music has gone on to be at over time (Castle Crashers, Geometry Dash, ect.), i'd consider it safe to say they are basically the internet gaming music composer. And honestly, more indie game devs should use their work, or even commission them for something, since their music just has a feeling of....2000s flash gaming in the best way, if you get what I mean.
JUST SAYIN!!!! I loved this first song so much back in the day, that I literally ripped out the audio for the Mass Effect 3 trailer, and replaced it with this song's 'fully finished' version... and it matches up PERFFFFFFECTLY.... every scene is perfectly synced up, its crazy.

Dude! I have enjoyed your music for over a decade! Thank you for all the work you put into your amazing tracks!
Bro ! I love your version of Bowser Road ! So many memories with NemesisTheory ❤

Instant hype on the second the video started, I might still have the song saved on my phone. Thanks for all your work over the years
Chaoz Fantasy is one of those tracks where I can’t even place when or where I first heard it, but as soon as I hear it, I just KNOW it
Same 😅
ParagonX9's music is so good. Do try to listen to it on Newgrounds though, the youtube uploads have this weird pitch shift.
Exactly how I felt as soon as this video started!
it's crazy just how much of an influence paragonx9 had for this era, i must've heard the chaoz series hundreds of times over the years

Man... hearing ParagonX9 brought back memories I didn't even know I _had._
_and also a little bit of T.I.G. PTSD, not gonna lie_
I remember being introduced to their music from a nyan cat vs waffle cat animation
I love that you have the OG default RUclips profile.

The Impossible Game represent!
Yes!!!!

I know a variation of Chaoz Fantasy in Henry Stickmin in the fake ending of Infiltrating the Airship

I remember playing these songs on Stepmania like 15 years ago. that was a blast from the past

I still upload my audio to Newgrounds from time to time. Glad to see some Audio Portal representation after all these years~ ✊
Chaoz Fantasy (Drum Boost ver.)
I added this to my watch later and forgot, but when the intro started, I immediately got whiplash. Thanks for playing these, they're so good.

There are the memories coming back of me playing DDR like 15 years ago
Might’ve heard them before but god if i can remember
This is like waking up and having a song that you haven’t listened to in years stuck in your head
Have you ever seen Vinnie Veritas' Gravitaxis++? That's a fantastic old Newgrounds classic.
So much memories with Territory War listening to Polar 240
YEEAAAHHH LONG LIVE FLASH!!!
And now I'm on another ParagonX9 kick. Thanks!!!
I love your musical soul much my dude. Thank you for what you do.
My favorite from ParagonX9 may be "The Alternate Route" from Super Mario 63 (anyone?)
Certainly familiar with Chaos Japan. Not too sure with the other two.

I was never really a Newgrounds guy, I played Kongregate.
