join me as i unbox and give my first impressions on the Martin 000-15M (aka the most expensive guitar i own!) 😱
it sounds completely unlike my other guitars in that it gives off such a rich, warm, full tone. just a fun story about how this happened - i was planning a cover of one of my dad's favorite songs and none of my other guitars was sounding how i wanted so i went to guitar center to do some window shopping when i came across this baby! 🙌 as soon as i started playing on it, i knew this was going to be my next guitar. (then i saw the price and had to do some serious budgeting but it was totally worth it!!)

I agree with this, I just bought a Taylor, got it home and found something wrong with it. Long story short and it went back and they got me another one of the same guitar but it just doesnt seem to sound or play the same as the other. Im a bit sad, lesson learned for next time
never was there a truer statement!! i honestly went into guitar center hoping to do some window shopping and get some perspective on different brands but the second i played this one i was like "uh oh... i think i'm gonna have to buy it..." 😂

I'm really kinda tired of seeing reviews of guitars played by professionals who I will never come close to sounding like and played on equipment that I will never own.
Also, the 000 15M is the best sounding and best smelling guitar I have ever owned. : )

I wonder how it plays? Are the strings set up close to the neck? I get what you mean it's not as loud. I think that's a trade off with a Martin don't u? I had been playing my husband's D1R for a long time (not real expensive). It was good & loud. I splurged & bought me a Martin Sustainable wood model I forget the name but I like the size (smaller like yours) but it's hard as heck to play I've had the neck reset twice. It's been a discourgment to me re playing. I don't have the desire to play for a long time. All I ever wanted was to learn to finger pick. I did have that feeling (at a Guitar Center too) when I bought a fender squire last year my 1st elec guitar. I had taken about 6 lessons& the guy quit working there. Then I had one lesson afft

I just bought a $4000 martin guitar. I love it. And yes, spending 4k on a guitar is absolutely scary lol
I've got a Mahogany Taylor and you can hear the difference between the woods. Mahogany seems to ring true longer and clearer the most other woods, in my opinion. The mahogany baby Taylor's sound really good as well.

I just had the same reaction to this guitar at Guitar Center. I went in to buy some strings for my Martin DRS2 (also a Dreadnaught) and I fell in love with the 000-15m when playing it in the acoustic room. I ended up trading in the DRS2 for the 000-15m. I love it.
I’ve been so stressed out with the news, I actually needed this. That’s easily one of the most beautiful guitars I’ve ever seen.

I now own one. I love love it. Only had it for 2 weeks and gonna soon put my second set of string besides the ones that came with it because i can't stop playing it. strings don't last as long as they say, for me anyway, but i am only amateur but love playing.
Gorgeous Guitar and sound is awesome. I will soon be 63 and am from Newfoundland Canada and after waiting since February for this thing i will play it as often as possible. So glad i chose this model . Perfect size for me . I have the Sigma d15m the martin copy and loved the sound but found it too large and my hands got tired fast.
This thing the real deal is so easy to play and so very awesome i can't praise it enough. I am so happy.

thank so much prisha!! i totally know how you feel - that black guitar i showed in the video (my ibanez) was my only guitar for many many years until i got my baby taylor! it's definitely fine to play on an old or hand me down guitar when you're first learning, but man the first time you play on a different (and better) one, the whole sound changes and makes you fall in love all over again! ❤️❤️❤️

Greetings teacher! I got me a $30 Ventura V-10 last week. Didn’t have time to get it stringed so it’s at home, BUT as soon as I get home again and string it, it will be coming truckin with me and be my buddy. I have zero playing skills but chose you because you lay it all out in a way I can understand. Can’t wait to watch lesson one again with guitar in hand and get this show on the road, literally, it’s where I live most my life, on the road. In other news.... 😍 you chose a BEAUTY!!! Real wood is so awesome and it sounds like heaven. No clue what mine is made of, but I’ll get a little class on it when I go get strings and make sure all the parts do what they are supposed to do.

1300 is not bad for something american made and all solid woods. Especially from one of the best brands out there! Love the mellow quality of all solid mahogany. Really stands out with a pure tone when fingerstyling!

Please take my money! No doubt I'm buying the same!! I do have a Martin D16-GT ... Sounds amazing but as you mentioned already. They are huge ^^

both companies make such amazing guitars!! but i think Martin has a slight advantage when it comes to acoustics (I've come to this conclusion after a lot of internet research and playing on many guitars!) best of luck to you and i hope you'll be able to get one some day! ❤️

I have this guitar too. Absolutely love it. And mahogany tends to be a warmer sound and IMO sound like they have a natural compressor, so that's why it's not as loud in my experience. Some styles would hate it, but for blues, singer-songwriter types they are popular for this reason. Also a lot of people love to record with them because the sound tends to be very even across the spectrum. Great guitar. They get better sounding and looking w/ age also.
Do you ever find the 000 size too big? Is it comfortable?

My last guitar I got was on Amazon left handed LYX telecaster 109 dollars I love it even has a telecaster vintage bridge and finished maple neck ash color great set up good action etc

That guitar will open up nicely in a couple of years. You can't go wrong with a solid wood martin, which are the best guitars.

I picked one up for about half on marketplace a few years ago when I returned to Michigan from Kauai’i where I learned ukulele and met a cool hippie there who had a fretless guitar. I met him through a friend when we were enjoying some Hawaiian herbal medicine. Our friends never told us his last name and we never talked about music. He happened to be Darby Slick. He wrote a song years ago that paid him royalties to live in Hawaii, White Rabbit and Don’t You Want Somebody to Love for his ex sister in law, Grace. I knew nothing about Martins, so I gues I got blessed. I live closer to Detroit than Kalamazoo where Gibson used to be, sonIndrove across the state to get it. On the way back, Reggie, the puppy, had to relieve himself, so we stopped at a rest stop where I heard someone besides my wife yell, Hector! It was a teacher friend that I had last seen when she visited Kauai’i. I hope your guitar is as magical,

Very beautiful guitar,that rich dark wood color of mahogany and rosewood looks so Royal and Rich,and sound is too melodious.
that is such a good word to describe it! i always find it difficult to find the right words when i talk but "royal" really nails the way i feel about it when i look at it! it's like.... so extravagant! 😍

thank you! yes the warm tone is what drew me to this guitar. the guy at the shop said guitars made from mahogany are better at producing warm tones than ones made of spruce (basically all my other guitars)

Meanwhile, I'm over here debating about spending the money to buy the Taylor Baby Mahogany. Like you, I bought a huge Dreadnought guitar. While I've been assured that I'm doing great, I sometimes itch for a smaller one, lol. For reference, I'm 5'2"! :-)
I know how that feel "I am done shopping for guitars." The moment I got my Seagull S6 and Art&Lutherie Americana Bourbon CW Q1T - hand crafted - Made in CANADA!!! 😃 Well, when you have a chance, give them a try at the shop. For the price you spent on the Martin, I could actually purchase a third one.
The Seagulls have laminated sides and back of cherry wood, while the Martin is made of all solid mahogany for the back, sides and top. Also, mahogany topped guitars have a different tone quality than spruced topped guitars. She made an excellent choice with the 00015m, which many experts call Martin's "best bang for the bucks". Your response kind of sounds like sour grapes.

the guy at guitar center was so nice! since this guitar was on the display wall for a few days and different people had been playing on it, he threw in a new set of strings for me when i bought it. now i'll just have to change them!

Need some help here: When I play a chord and then try to switch chords while the note is playing it makes a weird noise especially the exact moment of the release.
Also how short the nails on the left hand should be...in my case the the strings go between the nails and the finger and it hurts...
That's exactly what happens to me, I tried to know why, and i start seeing that I don't press the chord well when I want to do the change to another chord, but I still can make it well
-build up chord transition speed
-switch as late as possible between chords. Half a count before your next count and chord
-keep the fingers in place that don't need to be moved
-keep your fingertips close to the frets
Anddd.. My nails are really short, doesnt feel right when I play with even slightly long nails
