It's just proof of how good a show Taskmaster is, that (I'm guessing) 90% of people watching this have already seen every episode multiple times, yet they still want to watch someone enjoying it for the first time.
Haha right?? And I'm so glad you do. You're great about commenting on each video, and that lets me learn much more about the show and the celebs than I would just casually watching on my own. Thank you my friend!
Right!! But that's what I also love about him- he doesn't care. He's like someone's Mom at the Oscars, no chance of winning anything but thrilled to be there!
Bob’s book “And Away…” goes into detail about his painter-decorator business and it’s absolutely insane. He’s burned at least two houses down “out of ignorance”
So many good tasks not just in this episode but in this season. I feel like this is one of the seasons where you can identify someone who WON'T win really early on, but even the weakest hear have some moments they shine - there's a team task coming up where both teams deliver something brilliant and creative in radically different ways.
Thanks!! Yeah true, but you know, I never take ANYTHING for granted when it comes to Taskmaster. Especially this early on. I'm along for the ride wherever it takes me
@DavidvsFilm Thank you David for your kind words and looking forward to series 3 where things hot up 🪭 🪭 if memory serves me well. Take care and chat soon x
I came to say this, it's some of his finest work. I never thought of where it came from but you're probably right. He probably heard "hip, hip, hooray" slightly wrong one time and thought of this task from that pun. Then it's pretty easy to find an occasion to apply it to one of the five entries. 😂
Fun fact for you: a decades' old "mind-reading" trick involves making someone do a series of very repetitious, tedious math tasks (like what do you call the number 2 if it's 5 times in a row - twenty-two thousand, two hundred and twenty-two; what is 2 times itself 5 times - 2, 4, 8, 16, 32) and give them about half a dozen of those question in a row, then you ask them to name a vegetable......... a good 95% of the time, the person will respond with "carrot". I don't know why this is a human phenomenon (or if it's only an English one)... but try it with your friends and relatives this holiday season. lol
Nish is great. Thanks for the info about Mark and Alex! I've heard some things about that now, but when I watched this, I had no idea. I was like, "Oh it's the 'Hugh' of this season.." haha

@@grahamstrouse1165 I think Tim gets his name in the credits and some money for a notional amount of "work" (occasionally discussing tasks with Alex in the pub).
What I love about this is that Alex is actually tall (not as tall as Greg, but up there!), and Greg continues to call him little and makes him sit in a chair that’s cut lower than his lol.

I completely agree about always having a love for the simplicity of the early seasons, these episodes are still considered the early days to me but in the much later ones 16, 17, 18 some of the tasks are so convoluted that I miss the days of ‘paint a horse whilst riding a horse’ and ‘make the biggest splat’ that’s where we truly got to see people’s gut instincts kick in and that moment of panic where they ‘thought it would be a melon buffet’ was what was fun about it, I still enjoy the current ones but I very much miss these simple tasks from back in the day

She is also one of the best talk show guests in the clips that I've seen of her since. Particularly some of her appearances on Jonathan Ross's show are comedy gold :) :)
Thanks so much! Yeah, I did not know her at all prior to this (hence my calling her "Ashley"), but she is great. And you are right that the whole cast is amazing. Once again, I can already feel the dread of the season's end even though I've just begun :(
