I love everyone on this cast, Mark and Nish especially, the bromance those two have going on is unrivalled. And individually, they're just as great. Nish's unending positivity and Mark's sweet and humble personality are just great to watch. Bob Mortimer is one of my favourite comedians, his life has just been so utterly bizarre. Sally is so seemingly sweet and unassuming that you would *never* guess she's an absolute unhinged psychopath. Looking forward to the rest of this season and more to come!
@@AdamfromFWCI That's fair, not everyone likes the same people. Also, someone else suggested you watch Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie To You, which I COMPLETELY agree with. His stories are just *so* insane.
@@AdamfromFWCI I'm really late to the party, but Mark is really sweet. Just a tad simple. I know that sounds harsh, but perhaps it's just his innocence. And I don't care what anyone says says about Nish... dude's a sweetheart, and his comedy has gotten better since his early days on Mock the Week. A lot of people say racist things like he's a "DEI hire" by the BBC or "they're filling a quota". These are obviously Tory or UKiP voters. Not necessarily everyone who dislikes him do so for that reason... I don't want to sound like a crybaby woke leftist. Oh, wait but I am a woke leftist... just not a crybaby 😉.
I swear this season is what made a shift in Aisling Bea's reputation - she'd been on stuff before and what I saw of the online reaction tended to be quite negative, then this happened and suddenly she was absolutely embraced. Sally Phillips' "nice mum" attitude is relentlessly deceptive (even after the Special Cuddle), from the very start of her career 30 years ago she's worked with some of the biggest and most weird/influential british comedians and co-created an award-winning sketch show.
This series will always have a special place in my heart. I had seen a couple of tasks by themselves out in the wilds of RUclips, but then I saw one clip had Aisling in it. So I said, "Ooo I have to find the episode she did!" And that's when I found out contestants do a full series, not just one episode. So I was pleased and, by the end of this series, totally hooked.
Mark Watson (the "guy with the glasses") is one of Alex' very best friends. The two of them, along with Tim Key, have done a show called "No More Jockeys" where they play this game they made up, and though it's a bit hard to get into it, they're absolutely hilarious together. The games in the later matches are full of in-jokes and references established earlier, but once you get it their banter is just incredible. Anyway, if it seems like Mark is getting picked on at all this season, it's because he is, and Alex is having fun doing it :D
I'll also add, for me, I love the way he just talks to himself/Alex during tasks, casually summing up obvious things as if he's letting the audience know something.
might be inaccurate to call it a "show." it was just a regular zoom call over covid, playing a parlour game together. but a lot of fun and yeah the successive in-jokes are great
Mark and Alex are really good friends outside of the show (Mark did the original Edinburgh Fringe version of the show in 2012). They do a RUclips show called No More Jockeys along with Tim Key which is really good fun
It shocks me how anyone could find anyone other than Bob their favourite. I'm guessing you've not seen him on Would I Lie to you. If you had, he would be your favourite before any tasks have even been performed lol.
"Out of Sight" is a 1998 movie starring George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez and it's surprisingly good. One of the early scenes in the movie is where the Jennifer Lopez character who is a cop finds herself in a car boot together with George Clooney ( a skilled bank robber and thief) as his prisioner. It is a scene that is full of sexual chemistry and prehaps Bob Mortimer was inspired to recreate this scene with Alex🤣
There's a Taskmaster podcast too , Hosted by Ed Gamble , Each episode of the podcast is uploaded after each episode of the show so they talk about that specific episode .
I know :( i should have gone back and added it. The app i watch these on very aggressively tries to send me to the next episode during the credits, on this occasion I just assumed the winner would be looking at the items and nothing would happen. I will watch the outro and add it to a future reaction because it sounds brilliant. Lesson learned :D
Since you are unfamiliar with Bob Mortimer, I have to recommend pretty much anything he's done on Would I Lie To You. He's one of the best storytellers ever, and the names of people he comes up with in his stories are incredible
I fell in love with Bob from his crazy stories on “Would I Lie To You.” You should definitely check that show out if you haven’t. I love Sally, only know her from this. Love Aisling Bea. I’ve seen her on “QI” and “8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown” and also in interviews. She’s really funny. Mark I didn’t really care for. He has a weird energy, reminds me of Woody Allen the director. Nish is my least fave I find him annoying. But even with that being said they still had entertaining tasks that I enjoyed watching. This is a good group. Lots of good tasks this season too.
TMNZ S2 is without a doubt the best series ever, so many surprising moments and having the majority of the comedians be the psychotically unhinged ones worked out so well
I haven’t seen the Australian version. I’ve seen the American one that was awful and the New Zealand one and it’s really good but the UK ones the best of course.
australian one is extremely simmilar to new zealand, its even the same location the only difference being the australian taskmaster is alot better. i highly suggest norway though, it is available with good subtitles and comes in number 2 right in between the og and australia.
"I can't tell if Sally is hot or terrifying"
Ooh hey, he's picking up fast. That is the correct answer, yes
Come back to that at the end of this series. You'll be amazed just how right you were xD
She pretty much started a trend of contestants torturing alex
Yesss. I’m so excited for you to watch this season. You’re gonna love it. Sally is a surprisingly sultry, classy, yet absolute psychopath.

I may or may not compare him to a Hugh Grant character

16:14 “Nish you are a sporting hero!”
Me knowing what is about to happen.
“You see this is why I love people reacting to Taskmaster!”
Does it involve a Water Cooler?
This season has the most delightfully unhinged cast and we love them for it

Stunned you're not already familiar with Bob down there, he's a National Treasure. You're going to adore him, the man's a legend.
lmao seeing a few people in the comments talking about the same certain task that I'm just so excited to see you react to
Great series this, with what might be the only task in taskmaster history where everyone actually does well/brilliantly.
Oh I know this task. Can't wait.

No one annoys Greg more than Rhod Gilbert from Season 7, which also one of my favorite seasons
This is my all time favourite series.

This made me fall in love with Aisling Bea.....what a beautiful lady and so funny
Sally comes for the season psychopath title right out of the gate 🤣
I believe Sally's husband (now ex) cheated on her and dumped her just before this series, hence the manic energy and the constant sexual innuendos 😂
That makes sense now you've said it. Although i never would've guessed. I clearly have much yet to learn of the female alpha 😂 !
Low-key crushing on Sally Phillips ever since i watched this season first time not gna lie. Plus her appearances on QI of course.
