Have you ever shared personal information with anyone and later regretted it?

@@Arindamlet I loose-talked about a professor who got fired for sexual harassment at a college. I applied for the same teaching job because the college was my alma mater, but sadly, I found out that the HR's blacklisted me from applying because of this no-no. There was no hope for saying sorry - the damage was irreparable.

I’m a very private person and have learned to keep all personal information close to the vest. People can’t be trusted.

My husband is an open book and shares private things such as income, health. Etc with everyone! I can’t make him understand that this kind of info should be kept for us and our direct family!

Loose talk needs to be kept to yourself. Especially at work.
For example, backstabbing a co-worker with false-light negative information, or spreading defamatory rumors at work (aka "bad gossip") can kill you at work - these types of loose talk will ring you up all the way to termination of your job. In worse cases, it can lead to litigation.
So keep such loose talk TO YOURSELF!

some of these I agree with like your bank acct or your relationship problems but I have friends that I have known since before I started elementary school and we would tell each other anything we got going on, Ive always seen it as nice that if you have a real solid relationship with someone that they can be your shoulder and ears.

I think all of these things are relative- it depends on the kontext. for example, due to legal issues you might be forced to discuss your financial issues with someone else but your bank or even your lawyer- for example your family.

Depends what the weaknesses are. When you refer to food items vs medical conditions. Food is safer to share than medical conditions.

I'm glad to learn you learnt that people can learn to learn learnings when ever they want. I can't wait to learn the learning that you've learnt that people can learn to learn what ever learnings they want too. You'll learn that that's the learning that's the scary learning, not every learning people learn to learn is the correct learning to learn and learning to learn the learnings that are factual learnings and learning to learn the learnings that have biases and learning to learn the learnings that are mainly nonsense is the most important learning to learn how to learn. Thank you.

We also know the severe damage that sex offender public registries do to sex offenders. Public sex offender registries damage a person's reputation, social standing, and freedom due to the public release of "sensitive descriptors" - which can even include an offender's SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER - as well as the offender's date of birth.
So in public search websites, for those who are not sex offender registrants, prevent ID theft by requesting removal of your exact date of birth and anything related to your SSN, unless required. The mantra is especially never mention your SSN anywhere online where identity thieves can take advantage of you - keep it mainly to yourself unless government requires you to reveal it (for example, the IRS).

    • @lukeconnell-rg4cz

Wow you had me going left and right there.. up and down... your opening line confused me. I thought it should read, "We all know what severe damage that sex offenders do to their victims. Public sex offenders registries are designed for the safety of the public at the cost of damaging a sex offender's personal reputation, social standing and freedom."
Obviously no one should have their identity stolen just like no one should be the victim of a sex offender's crime. Discuss who goes on the list if you want but don't tell me a true sex offender's personal reputation, social standing and freedom shouldn't be damaged.

Yes that is a negative aspect of this video. They should include a caveat that it's okay to talk to a therapist: they are literally required by law not to share information about their clients. Otherwise, solid video.

Well.... I messed up online on No7 However, I don't share names or extra details of someone who did me wrong, just minimal information in offline, IRL. Whatever you want to call it.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, your opinion, man.
Don't associate with or care about the opinions of such negative, judgmental, oppressive people.
I get; not over sharing, excessively bragging or forcing an opinion on someone but it's ying and yang man...
The never talking about family issues is toxic and has often led to far worse outcomes than people gossiping in the village...
Never reveal your weakness is upsetting...
Don't talk politics because you might disagree is the antithesis of democracy and a tool used by the chivalry welding aristocracy to keep the status quo.
"You don't owe anyone anything" is sickening and borderline sociopathic, i think. The universe didn't form when you arrived and doesn't revolve around you. You owe a debt of gratitude to the people before us that made this the easiest time for a human to be alive in history and you owe a duty of care to the people that will take the batten into the future to make it better then how you found it and easier again for the next generation.
People can feel uncomfortable talking about money, be it what they earn or spend. Personal development is all about challenging yourself, making the uncomfortable comfortable. Don't give financial status the power to control you, find happiness and purpose somewhere other than a balance sheet.
Never sharing your goals is not the best strategy for developing and growing but be wise with it. What's key is breaking goals down to a plan with tasks and get your sense achievement there. Do not keep people that aught to support you but discourage you instead close to you, no matter who they are.
On Good Deeds, yeah, no one likes a bragger, except for the receipts of the good deed. No less good is done if you feel good after, in fact theres just more good in the world, and you might get hooked on that feeling of doing good. Let's just get to the where we are in a surplus of good deeds before we critique the ones we're getting too much.
Talk with your partner, and use your friends and family for advice...of course people talk about the most important things in their life with their loved ones, like we're pack animals or something.
