My Maltese boy, Paddington Bear, just turned 13 on 9/10/23. He's as active as a 2 yr. old. He was trained to be my svce. dog & has saved me twice. He's extremely empathic & knows if I even have a headache. He is the love of my life. He eats the best food, drinks filtered spring water & since 12 weeks has had high quality supplements. We shook paws on him living till 18, but recently he agreed to try for 20 yrs. I adore this breed. As a professional trainer I agree with much of this video. A Maltese must be planned for. But their love is incomparable!
We are on our fifth Maltese. All were/are fabulous dogs, i hate calling them dogs, they are more than a "dog". They are precious, loving, fun and they become a vital part of our family. They know instantly how to get to your heart .
I'm a 72yr old widow and live alone. I mean with no other humans. So my Molly is my everything! She brings me joy every day and she knows exactly how I feel at any given moment!
Thx for that nice video. Although I live now with my second maltese in my life, I enjoyed the Video so much. Nice to see all those different coats and noses…. A Malteser was the dog I always dreamed of, since childhood. They are all heartbreakers❤
Está raza de caninos es muy hermosa y elegante además de que son muy cariñosos y muy educados. Es una grata experiencia convivir con ellos. Saludos desde México
Maltese are my favorite breed. I had my dogster Alyssa Rose Duncan for 16 years, she was my everything. Mama love's and misses you. I will be with you again in heaven.
Over the sixty years my wife and I have had six (6) Maltese puppies. After my wife died in December 2019, since that time Chloe (at that time was 3 years old) has been a companion and she has been help in remorse of my wife passing (we were married 60 years). All of our dogs has lived beyond 13 years.
I lost my Maltese 4 months ago. And now I’m 75 and I’m afraid to leave a new one after my dead. But I need one so much. I don’t know what to do. I miss my dog so much.
Yes im so proud of being ang maltese fur mom 😍 Our maltese puppy is so adorable and lovely. He always sleeps with us like human baby 😊 We adopted him when he was 6 weeks old and now he is 5 months old 🤗

Aloha, from Hawai'i Nei🌈🌠🏝🏖🌺🦋🌸🌺🦋🌸. Happy🎄 Holidays to you & your, Malchi🐶🐾🐾❤❤❤.
Love this breed. My wee girl died on the 10th May. She was diagnosed with cushins disease. She was only 11yrs 5 mths…The Maltese I had before her was 18 yrs old and I made the decision to have her put to sleep when she could no longer go outside. Never felt guilty as I rescued her when she was around 2 yrs old and she did have a good life…💔💔
I don't dispute your opinions as stated here, but I have a 3 month old Maltese which I am "training" to cope with some periods of separation and to which she is adapting well. She no longer sleeps in the room with us and is quite adept on the balcony with her shelter. So far so good.
I am 69. I live alone. Owned and trained many dogs in my life. My wonderful, perfect, and "re-homed" to me, Maltipoo passed away in April. I felt empty. Truly wanted a potty-trained adult Maltipoo...oh well... I now have a 15 week old pure-bred Maltese male. Obtained him 3 weeks ago. I love him...he loves and sleeps with me. It's been a little difficult: forgot how much time and patience it takes to potty-train; he definitely has a mind and personality of his own (Ex. take him out to my fenced backyard and he seems to tease me as to whether, and when he pee's or poops), on HIS time, not mine; He is starting to use the "training pads", and I reward him with treats and praise. Have a Vet plan for all his needs. Wish he would more easily respond to my requests and commands. Weighs 3.2 lb's. so pretty much need to carry him, however, he just got over his fear of jumping up 1, 6 inch step to my deck. Love, Love, Love! Thank you for your video!
I am a proud owner of a Maltese he will be 7 this month he is the love of my life. He never leaves my side. He is my world. The best thing that ever happened to me. He is my Toby. ❤❤
❤ MY SECOND MALTESE! MY CODI,DIED 2MONTHS AGO...BROKE MY HEART.😢😢 WHEN I HAD A STROKE... CODI ALERTED MY SON., STAYED RIGHT BY SIDE UNTI RESUE CAME... AFTER MY STROKE.I WOULD CATCH HIM WATCHING ME TO MAKE SURE I WAS OK...😢😢
I have a Maltese his name is schooby my daughter's friend gave the dog to her then my daughter gave him to me ,he was three years old when my daughter gave him to me he had gum disease poor little guy , I spent nearly 3,000 dollars to get his teeth removed... But he is my heart ,he so stubborn, and funny he loves to go for long walks and he protects me and my home , he thinks he is a pitbull ..
Yes I am a Maltese owner, he is a 2 yr old male and I can't get him potty trained, I have had him since he was 3 mo old and can't get him potty trained!
Thanks For This! My Mom’s Friend Gave Us Her Maltese Dog For 2 Weeks Due To Travelling, And We Do Not Know How To Treat Her Because She Always Jumps On Us 😂😂, Thanks Again!!!
Yes, my Maggie's is 2.4 kg. 12 years old. She is a very, very picky eater and will go 5 days without eating. Last Nov. She lost her Yorkie brother to kidney failure . He was her world. He was 11, and they were together since birth. Maggie is 12 and has extreme anxiety since he left us. She was more comfortable around Brampton than she is with me. She sleeps on top of the couch and doesn't like to be petted or snuggled very differently from her brother. She dies want to be close and hates being left alone, which is rare. She has been struggling with cistant scratching and is due to being depressed. Today, I found out that she is in heal failure too. So I'm hoping it's in the early early stages. I want to help her live her to the moon and back, but I wish i had a nagic secret for her eating. Brampton would take a moth full of kibble, bring it yo her letting her know to eat. If that didn't work, he'd step on it for it to bounce and make a game if it then died chase after UT and eat. So I just got to figure out how to motivate her to start to eat. Now I can't let her go too long without food. She is a darling.
Yes I hv a Maltese & a teacup one at tt! I plan on growing old w her so she needs to be tiny for me to carry her when she is geriatric. 😝 (actually I had a knee surgery fr sports injury) She is everything I ever wanted in a dog: kind, loving, responsive & loyal to a fault!:) She is also fiercely protective of me & makes me feel more confident stepping out of my home. I thoroughly enjoy her company even when she can get a tad bit too sticky to me. To me, she is perfect. I honestly cnt imagine my life without her. She follows me wherever I go & I nvr tire of her company. ❤
Thanks for video. My maltese is a mix with poodle, but she seems to be all maltese.. Are they suppose be so skinny??? I have never had a skinny dog, so kind of worried here! Please, advice?
You may have a Maltipoo. Cross between toy Poodle and Maltese. Mine are and they’re mostly cream colored with apricot highlights on their ears and tail.
@@pmscalisi ist could also be a mix of Yorkie and maltese. My last one had creamy hair in his whole ears, his granny was a yorkie. He loved carrots, and sometimes people said his coat would look „ champaign“. I loved him so much….sometimes we will meet again.
My Maltese makes a weird honking noise occasionally. I'm told these dogs have a problem with their breathing. Could you describe this problem to me. My vet says this problem is mild. But Sammy has started to snore. He has anxiety also.
Since they are a little…inbred sometimes, their windpipe is a little weak. When they try to breathe in fast, the tube flops into itself. That’s what makes the sound.
My Molly has an occasional honking also. At her last vet visit I was told she now has a heart murmur. And on a scale of 1 thru 6, Molly is a 3. Her vet asked if I hear her coughing alot and I said no. But now I'm wondering is this honking is her actually coughing????
I am a Maltese owner. Bonbon came into our lives in March 2023 by adoption. Yes, he is fiercely loyal and protective of owners. BB did bite and has a fiery temperament, we all has gotten "souvenirs" from him ^^ 8 months of training and living under one roof, our tiny commando has turned to become the sweetest and most loving member in our family. However, occasionally he still think he is a German Shepherd ...... large dogs are shocked to see how tiny BB picked his fight with them 🤣🤣
The "pack leader" and "alpha" roles have been debunked. You don't want to be the "alpha" of your dog you want to be a teacher and companion the same way they are to you. Training isn't about who's boss it's about finding fun ways to get dogs to do simple things and making your bonds stronger. Training is mostly about bettering behavior but it's also spending quality time with your pups. Also would like to mention a lot of the "Maltese" in this video is mostly mix breeds alot of them have too long of snouts or too short of one. Too long of a body or too short of one. Too long of legs or too short of them. Please make sure you find good breeders before finding out you got a poorly bred Maltese or mixed breed.

Allergies are common. Make sure you have good flea control and see a vet. It could be environmental or food allergies
