Nice review, you pretty much summarised the book. I received my copy yesterday, after only having come across it a few days earlier and ordered immediately and, I must say, it is put together in the most pleasing way. Lovely, easy patterns, clear and concise instructions and valuable tips and variations. Like you say, the garments are akin to COS (which I hadn't thought about until you mentioned it). I have already started on the stretch pencil skirt in a stretch denim fabric, just making a few alterations and will probably wear it tomorrow! Next up will be a block panel version of the same skirt before moving on through the rest of the book.
Thank you for the critique. What sold me on the book was being able to create a diverse working wardrobe. Diverse in the sense of not only mix and matching pieces. But also, alternating fabric types for individual garments. I have now ordered my copy from Amazon. ( In rural America, Amazon equals free shipping.) :) Thank you again. Your Vlogs provide a wealth of information.
Are the patterns available in the US? Or just the book with 6 patterns from Amazon? I went on the website and many of their patterns are amazing. But shipping to the US would be costly. Great review. Thanks.
Fabulous, yet again. I had a makers atelier pattern for Christmas, which I haven't yet used... it is the Raw - Edged coat ( I've actually been saving for the fabric they recommend, which is a wool... always feel guilty as I have such a big stash!😳). My question is, after rambling, is the raw edged coat in the book, the same pattern, do you think? Thank you Kate, your vlogs are just the best!😘
I just had a look at my order confirmation and they are these ones, but can't seen an option online for the clear ones weirdly! www.cubitts.co.uk/spectacles/medburn/black
I enjoy your book reviews but I do wish you would put the book down on a table or on a stand so we could see it properly, instead of waving it around...

It's a great wardrobe builder this book - lots of patterns for everyday wear!

I haven't found the individual patterns for purchase. I believe the patterns are only available with the book.
So glad you also liked this book! I really enjoyed it - particularly love the info on different fabrics and the tips throughout.
Great vlog Kate. Very much enjoyed your critique of the Maker's Atelier book - all useful information, thanks!
I really like your hair like this, way better! Really cute. Both color and cut!
hahaha definitely trying to put dresses on the back burner... that neoprene coat looks amazing!.....has to be put on birthday list :p
Absolutely love that book! And similar to COS, yes! :)
I love book reviews! Thanks
Will you be making anything from the book? I'd love to see a video on that. Love watching you. Always inspiring. :-)
I might make the raw edged coat in a neoprene, love the idea of how simple the construction is. If I get time to make it I'll do a review too!

Yeah I think it's the same pattern - I really like the look of that one . I'd love to see it when you've made it! Have a lovely weekend
