Thank you for the review and showing us the clothes you can make. I was on the fence about it and your video showed me that the designs aren't a good fit for my plus sized body. So yay for saving money and being able to spend it on fabrics!

I have purchased this book and it is superb. I love the clean simple lines of the designs. They are the sort of clothes one expects to find in high end fashion. The photography is stunning and the quality of the book is first rate.

I'm a painter contractor in the US and eggshell is a type of sheen. Love this book and love your Pod cast. Keep up the great work.

Finally got it, mainly because of the knit knot dress and the dress with ties. But now i feel like I want to use it as a sewing course and go one by one to learn all the bits the sisters prepared! Which is even better!

Thank you for yet another great review! I love Named clothing patterns and had this book in my wish list. I’m afraid that there’s only one pattern that I feel is for me so thank you so much for also letting us know that they are available as a PDF... I assume you can buy these without initial purchase of the book?!? If that’s the case then you have saved me some money!! More fabric.....🤫😉

Hi, thanks for the review! Do you know why it is called Breaking the pattern? I thought it would be full of possibilities how to adjust patterns or something like that.

Thanks for the review. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that enjoys the smell of a good book lol. You mentioned UK size, would you happen to know what that would be US size?

Hi Kate, love this book. Thanks for the review, I received my copy the next day (after watching your review). I could make every single design with all the options! I’ve combed the book and can’t find any reference to getting the PDF’s. I’m a bit disappointed that it doesn’t seem possible to get pdf copies (in addition) having purchased the book. Often written pattern quarterly books in the knitting world have this option. I think you mentioned something about the pdf being available in your review. Do you know how to go about this ? Thanks x

Hi Gill, I’m sorry you’re not feeling happy about the book. It does say everywhere that you can get the PDFS alongside the book but having had a look myself I can’t see how you go about this. I’ve dug out their email and they’re really nice so I’m sure they’ll point you in the right direction: info@namedclothing.com

Thanks for getting back so quickly. I do love the book and everything in it but I would like to get a pdf for the patterns. I like to copy and make up in envelopes. I’ve written to Named Clothing as you suggest and will hopefully sort the issue. Thanks x

it is in fact a very nice book with really classic garments and I almost refused it because your review gives totally wrong impression about the book. According to what you were showing, there are only frills, slits, ties... all the teenage staff that everybody is so tired about already and that for some unknown reason is considered "interesting". Saying that frills are cool is about the same as calling racer-back original while it is everywhere for years and years and nothing could be more boring.

Oh my, I was thinking the same thing, like is there anything in this book I can wear to work (elementary art teacher, a physical and messy job).
