Thanks for the review. Have been looking at this book as thought it might have some good beginner projects for my kids to try. Also never stitched trousers before, so this could be a good option. Those Oxford trousers look lovely and my daughter looks good in paper bag shorts. 😊

Thanks for a great review, I hope my Sainsburys has this book. I really want to try shirring too, but it seems a bit scary, might wait until you’ve given it a try! My mind does that mix and match thing all the time, I think I’ll use those sleeves and that bodice, add that skirt, as a sewist it’s our superpower. Really enjoy your vlog style, thanks for sharing your sewing ☺️

@@SewLikeDotty that’s brilliant, although maybe not the time it took. I can’t wait to see. I was so thrilled on Friday went and got the book from Sainsburys thanks to your tip off, used my reward points so it was technically free! 🙂

Hi Alison loved your review, I've just bought the book. I'm a bit confused which size to make in the shirred dress, im a 36 hb 38 full bust, 30 waist 39 hips. This put me in 16 for bust 8 for waist and hips, well I've no clue ha ha, these are the finished garment sizes. For comparison if I made a tilly buttons indigo I'd cut out a size 4/5. Any advice appreciated, your looks beautiful xx

I found it hard too I cut the panel shirred it and it was massive so I tried to gauge how much I needed to bring it in and cut it as that - once made I brought it in a little further too . It’s confusing as it only has finished garment sizes
      Hope that helps x

Are most of the projects for ladies? I read that there are patterns for men and women but am not really interested in the mens ones? Thanks, great video!
