  • Our redesigned TRT210 tilting rotary table puts 5-axis capabilities well within reach of the average job shop and its new smaller size provides greater mounting flexibility than its predecessor.
    We’ve completely redesigned the TRT210 to create a more compact and versatile 5-axis solution for mid-size mills. The new unit easily fits on one end of a machine’s table, leaving the remainder open for additional fixtures or vises.

      That is the new Haas pneumatic vise. It will be released for sale in the near future initially in a 100mm size, but likely others will follow. Check HaasTooling.com or HaasCNC.com in the next few weeks
      It is also compatible with Non-Haas machines assuming you can plumb air to it and add a manual open/close switch

      Daniel and Andriejus, astute observations! Some people hate the background music, some people love it. And luckily some people notice that we are actually trying to moderate how we use it. Matching but not overpowering the natural sounds of machining. Thanks for noticing!

    The only part that was not so good ?
    Was the coolant supply ??
    It looked like someone was pissing on the part.
    ( or Maybe they were, LOL )
    Loved the video.
    Thanks for posting.

    • @marcusimes75
      @marcusimes75 4 года назад +2

      I closed the coolant valve 90% and was also manually turning it on and off to provide a minimum amount of coolant so the cutter would not load. If we blasted it with full flow coolant you cant see anything and that's boring to watch. So the normal coolant flow is more than 10x what you see. It was only reduced for filming

      Hey Marcus.
      Makes more sense when you know the whole story.
      I understand the dramas of filming with coolant, lol.
      It was just something i commented on at the time.
      Like most comments people make.
      They make them at the time, later even forgotten why they mentioned it ????
      Thanks for your reply. Peter.

    At first seeing that part get made it made me think "oh think of all the cool parts we could make if we had 5-axis someday!" but by the end I was looking at it and going "it saved a few setups but I could totally make that on a basic 3-axis..."
    Why not show a part that really takes full advantage of 5-axis?
    That said, can't wait to make some parts like that on the 3-axis VF2 😋

    • @Kizmox
      @Kizmox 4 года назад +4

      Even "3 axis" parts are usually so much nicer to do on 5 axis machine. In ideal case you get the work done in one setup

    Look at the boss by the through hole at 3:55 where they crashed an endmill into it.. This is the second time recently I have seen a screwed up part used as a marketing example by Haas. That's a $30 piece of material lost to redo this, but they used it anyway? For what they charge It makes me nervous on my next purchase.

    Right, but you guys with these types of videos never show the last side (clamped side) getting milled/cleaned up. What's up?!

    • @danf5429
      @danf5429 4 года назад +5

      Why? Because OP1:dovetail prep, and OP2: gripping by the dovetail and doing 90% of the machining are the easy & interesting parts! Simple work holding, and secure grip, so you can really rip on it.
      OP3: Removing the dovetail grip stock & finishing that last side is where you need a custom fixture or soft jaws to re-grip the part and trim that last little bit off. It's usually not difficult, but it doesn't make for a very interesting machine demo compared to OP2.

    • @marcusimes75
      @marcusimes75 3 года назад +1

      Ditto to what Dan said. Basically its not interesting to watch a facemill and 2 axis deburr tool path.

    • @jonnycecil
      @jonnycecil 3 года назад +1

      Several guys in the comments asking how you're going to get rid of the dovetail. This video is showing the easy side, even if it's 97% of the material. Show how you will hold it to finish!

    • @marcusimes75
      @marcusimes75 3 года назад +2

      It would just be held in soft jaws with the profile milled in it like any 2nd/3rd/4th/5th op part. To make sure it was held securely I'd undercut the jaws first so only the top of the part is clamped.
      In general there aren't too many ways to hold profiled parts, in the vast majority of cases you're using soft jaws with a negative image of the part milled in them. Same here.

    Rolltech Innovation manufactures machine coolant saver. Serious threats to productivity and health are bacteria and fungi which are commonly found in industrial coolants. This coolant bacteria filter has some advantageous features include: last a life time, with guarantee of extended life of coolant with bacteria filter - no consumables, no electricity, no chemical dosing, etc.
    It is a one time investment, ROI within 4-6 Months, Saves on input of fresh oil and disposal cost like etp treatment, or giving it to authorised recycler.
    These mineral oil based coolant are prone to generation of bacteria which produces foul odour, often from hydrogen sulfide [rotten egg smell].
    Rolltech Innovation "Aqualogic" filter is an innovative and economical method of continuously controlling these micro organisms and the odour they generate. "Aqualogic" bacteria coolant filter consists of series of high-purity multi-metal fibres cased within a stainless steel tube. the dissimilar ions in the multimetal alloy bed undergo a natural electrochemical reaction, also known as an oxidation-reduction reaction. Which Kills the all the Microbial activity in the coolant 24/7
