LCS, aka "Literally Cannot Sidelane", is Riot's premier Wildcard region held in the saltiest continent and denoted as such, NA. It is ridiculed for its poor international performance and macro, favouring the "NARAM" style.

Lol, the closest I've seen to a freeze in aram is people leaving minions for nasus to stack on. Most of the time they won't even let you lifesteal.

Another reason to feed the poros, specifically for Fiddlesticks: Fiddle's passive works in ARAM. Fiddle can place wards in ARAM. Please, feed the poros if you're Fiddlesticks

The funny thing is that the longest game I ever played in League was ARAM and it lasted 72 minutes. The last 32 minutes was just ACE and reverse ACE when they were pushing Nexus and some of not hitting nexus a little bit too.

Dont worry, I play on high elo aram and theres plenty of people who complain about the amount of dodges that people do there (me included), its just annoying and its normal to feel like that when you got a good pick and someone dodges last second

@@arcanine19PT honestly I think they should just make both teams get champions that are somewhat balanced in power against eachother so that even if you get a shitty teamcomp you can be guarenteed that the enemy will have a shitty comp as well or if it's better it won't be by much. Either that or make the op picks even more common so that there's less dodges and people can play the fun champions more nothing's op if everything is op.
@@Futuran123 depending on server around top ~40%. Not very high. These high elo ARAMs are like 3300 or higher. I'm 3000 and the gameplay I'm witnessing isn't even close to what they are showing. Maybe because I only play solo.

I played 2 games at 3am because of this video, one had a toxic vayne on the ennemy team (must be the 3am factor) and my team had a great comeback, the second one someone crashed, the ennemy team spawned killed us instead of hitting the nexus and we cameback 15 minutes later... Should have seen the entire video first tho bc I didn't start Guardian lol

Actually true though, you can win a fight on your side and have all enemies respawn before even being able to deal damage to the tower.
Being at player in and out of the top 10% aram mmr, I'm surprised they didn't focus on the importance of dying/suiciding. It's part of the game mode and best way to win the next team fight. I can't tell you how many times I watch teammates at 5% hp play so far back they don't help with anything cuz they are afraid to die. After a team fight just finishes, push lane/objectives and find a way to suicide. Your team needs you at 100% hp, not at 25% sitting on 2k gold having to play safe which actually hurts your team. Last point, try not to have your entire team be AD or AP. Going AP Kog'ma or AD Bard are still great options.
I'm glad aram is getting more recognition. It helps with understanding comps, being flexible with items and roles, how to engage and navigate a chaotic team fight, and how to dodge skill shots as well.
The most satisfying way is to get executed under enemy turret at low health WHILE THEY'RE UNDERNEATH IT. Though the most smart way is probably to either get executed by minions or die to turret after winning a teamfight.

There is actually more to that. Usually in 5 Stacks it highly depends on the teamcomp and the situation whether one player just sui's in and who stays back to clear waves. Sometimes it is even better to stay alive with low hp (e.g. when you have long range wave clear and you lost a fight in the middle of the map) and sometimes you can probably just full hp tactical int for tower hp when you pushed tier 2 or even nexus turrets. I think that would just be too much for the video or they simply forgot to mention it
I remember when there was no ARAM mode and players were creating custom games titled "ARAM" using the normal Summoner's Rift map, but you were not allowed to go to other lanes except mid. Good times.

@Krytrephex I agree completely, I was just saying that it's there specifically because winning doesn't matter. It's a random mode, so trying hard to win all the time will leave a bad taste in your mouth. That's what I meant by spirit. It's a for fun mode because there's no balance whatsoever.

I just want to acknowledge DongHuaP's change in narrating. I've always enjoyed the videos but in all of them he would raise his voice. It was pretty grating on the ears. I don't know if he got some feedback on this or something, but here in this video he's relaxed and casual. I almost don't recognize it as him. Great change. Thank you.

I used to be in “high Elo” Aram before I got my account permabanned (thousands of games played). Now when I play aram im still shocked that people don’t buy guardian items. So fucking shocked it’s so insanely overpowered but it’s always ignored. I always bought guardian horn and triple reju beads on tanks and prioritized playing tanks. So busted.

While it sounds weird, I think aram could benefit from a ranked queue at this point. There are people who take winning and strategy in aram extremely seriously, and it sucks for everyone involved when they are forced to play with teammates that just want to have fun and play like an idiot.

I miss dominion. If I was ever going to be high elo in any mode it was dominion. In 5s I was a bronze noob, but in dominion I don't know what it was, I just stomped everyone. Kass and then when he was banned, Yorick, if go solo bot and push for their tower. I lost so few games - like 3 in 80 - and eventually found my bronze ass in teams with diamond players. I even "laned" bot against CoL Chuuper (CoL being complexity I think, some pro team at the time and he was their adc) - didn't lose that match, either. Like I just kicked dicks and it was so much fun and now it's gone and I gotta be bad in 5s again

@@sebawuba8533 Don't give me that bullshit. They never touched it. The last change to the mode was on 5.11, and that was mostly jg camp values. Before that was 3.10 with a couple item changes. That's it. Last time before that was when it was reworked in season 1. They never gave ANY care to the game mode, never promoted it, never did anything to address its health. Never added plates when SR did. Of course, they didn't start doing champ specific changes when they did for ARAM. They never gave a shit about the mode, they didn't give a shit when it was dying, they didn't want it to stay alive or give it a chance. There are no draft alternatives to SR. No competitive alternatives to SR. Because they didn't give a shit about the mode. It was made to fester until they were able to justify pulling it. Stop defending that.

As a former high elo ARAM player, I really miss the dark harvest days, they were hilarious, especially Jhin one-shotting anyone. I find lethality assassin Lee-Sin to be really OP if you manage to snowball with him (assuming you're good with him and you face squishies) one q, auto, e and tiamat active and they're all gone xD High elo ARAM is where its at. And old fiddle with the crow was so annoying but I loved it

Very nice explained video, but I completly disagree with poro spell, yes in a hands of a pro it's a good summoner spell, but a lot of noobs use it really bad (they launch themselves to hit 1 enemy champion and position really bad, while receiving punishment of 2 or more enemy champions at the same time). As I state a lot of noobs thing of this mode as a slayer mode, not a mode where you actually have to think and take any advantage you can take, to force the enemy do what you want them to do, to actually win a game. I personally identify with the Ram Ranch Cowboys playstyle, for me that's the true ARAM high elo, and to be honest, you don't actually need to negate exp or get gold from minions, you just need the gold from kills/assist and the gold from towers, you just need to hit the enemy without them hitting you and controlling the health reliq that's all if you do this two things as best as you can eventually the enemy is forced to leave their towers and don't do shit about it (that's why poke comps are still the best in ARAM not cuz the poke, but the playstyle so again I disagree with the "balanced comp playstyle"), wich in many cases it's tied to both champion comps (the enemy comp and your team comp) and yes it's very uncommon to get a game when all the players actually know all of this and try off meta builds that benefit your role as the Lee sin you explained in your video and to actually don't fight at all until you reach level 6 and don't make any mistakes at all and then define all the game with just one team fight, that happened to me like twice in some years after playing ARAM. I'm gold elo in soloQ but in ARAM i often get matched with Diamond to Challenger players or people of other elo that know how to play ARAM to certain extent, and let me tell you a lot of high elo soloQ players don't know how to play ARAM (like Tyler1 for example wich looked like an iron player being abused in ARAM).

When Illaoi released, I left the game. She was just too much, there was no counter play against her at the time. After 1 year and 8 months I returned to the game but Summoner's Rift was too tilting with all the OP champs and OP items, the meta was fucked.
So, I found a way to have fun with League again: ARAM
I don't give a fuck about ranked anymore, I only play ARAM and its the only way I can have fun with the game. Not even URF gives satisfaction anymore.
I am ranked around 400 on the aram leaderboard (3135mmr, Top 0.09% currently) and I play with people in the top 100 often. You made high elo aram sound a lot more tryhard and serious than it really is. I think you were talking more about 5 man competitive aram than solo queue which could've been more clear. I only play solo and half of the stuff that you talk about, rarely anyone does. I have never seen a freeze ever. People don't build lee sin as support. People don't just sit under turret and waveclear for 10 minutes unless they have no engage. Most games are under 25 minutes. We try to win, but we don't stoop that low.
Agree. If you're a good player it isnt hard to get to high elo Aram, it will take a lot of games sure, but you will eventually get there

@@tractie_ I would say learn more champs and don't be greedy about the champs you play. Like you should try to pick for your comp instead of just playing champs you want to play. I also use my extra reroll if the team doesn't look great, even if I already have a champ I want. Then just make sure to play a lot. Pretty general tips, but that's what I've got. :D

First i started playing only arams because they acutally last longer than normal games and then i completely never ever touched even rankeds because aram got that masterpiece of a spell ,,snowball,, i really love it and i wont and cant play without it anymore... but now when they add those hextechgates i see the games ending in 8mins again and then i have to quit league since all those kids on drugs cant focus for longer than 10mins and want to end as soo as possible.... my mission in aram for now was to keep the enemy as long as possible in the game no matter if i win or not... but lets see how it goes...

Their is no mmr on Aram games. Mmr its only on rank games. I playing every year thousands games of arams and i had a diff variety of players every time. Iam a gold player and i had played with chals xd.

I don't know how many ARAMs you've played, I've been playing it rather consistently for about 9 years now and I think I figured it out quite quickly. It's useful to tell if someone's camping the bushes pre-minion spawn. Also it can give away sneaky Teemo players.

haha I have over 5k ARAM games (used to have MMR crazy high like 99,7% top player) ... didnt know there was such a thing like high ELO aram players :D
at a high enough solo elo for aram, freezing does happen. I've frozen waves in probably over 100 games and I've never been part of a high elo 5 stack. Just really good players vs each other.
As a guy who plays almost nothing but aram solo, I can say most of this is pretty on point. But also the whole freezing thing does happen a shocking amount of times in just casual aram games. It mostly ends up happening when both teams are either scalers or early gamers and refuse to fight each other, so they both attempt to freeze each other to force a fight out so they can take advantage of health kits. Also please feed your puros, if I have to ping one more person holding onto 2 snacks all game ill go insane.
And I thought I was weird for being challenger in flex queue. These guys got to a whole new level.

It's so sad that a team that can win 95% of games with a system that throw random champ at them are not exalted, It's like Riot tried to elitize the game. If they were Koreans and not Africans they would be in the advertisement for the game

Loved the analysis since I think ARAM rewards skilled play in a very unique way.
I feel like a little more detail could have been given on how high elo ARAM requires especially good knowledge of item builds. I know you touched upon it with Support Lee Sin example which was great, since I remember many games where I would trade for bruisers on my ARAM teams so that my teammates could play easier support/poke roles while I focused on minimizing the liability of my weaker pick by playing the utility role that most people forget how to do, but an even simpler example is analyzing on the fly how much MR/Armor to expect in each team's builds. If for example you have a team of four Enchanters that curb stomps earlygame but the game for any reason lasts a long time, you can bet your ass the other team will build mass MR to counter that. In contexts like that, even the least desirable assassin or fighter as your 5th pick building hyper damage oriented AD towards endgame might be exactly what your team needs to close out the game. ARAM in that way I think requires you to be especially gold efficient, picking items not just to increase the strength of your character but to benefit the situation as it is demanded. That type of gameplay doesn't happen as quickly in SR where lanes being split far apart means selfish solo lane builds that later counter the opposing laner are more common.
I wish they did ranked ARAM, it would reward players for learning as much champs as possible

It wouldn't really work because despite all the champion specific balance changes, some champions are flat out better than others. Sona and Seraphine both have severe champion specific nerfs and they still are highest winrate champions here.

High Elo ARAM player here. If I could chose I'd remove the snowballs 100%. They are broken in any way and you forgot to mention that they also act as an oracle so you can just snowball akali twitch etc an make them pretty much useless. Tanks are broken enough and i dont get why everyone would get a free lee sin q with more range.

The only reason I ever made it to diamond was because of how good my teamfighting was. I could be 0/8, but somehow outplay in a 5v5 and get a triple and carry after. ARAM was the sole reason for that being the case.
I had no idea this side of aram existed... Thank you for bringing this to light! I looked up my stats and I have 2,318 games, in the top 9%, only 800 MMR away from the top 500! I was just playing for fun this whole time wow maybe I'll try for it lmao!
Couple of questions:
When do High Elo ARAMers suicide for a back? How much gold do they like to sit on?
Who do they put the minion gold on? Is it split evenly between the Mage and AD? Just the AD?

Generally its about calculating your disadvantage. Sitting on gold, is disadvantage - cause enemy have more items then you. Having lower hp - is disadvantage for most champions and have less chance to win next fight, the more hp you missing. Having no mana - is basically like playing 4 v 5. Will you win next fight with this disadvantage?

What about gold - if our team dominating, I will sit as long as possible, and not to give enemy team a shutdown > then reset with huge advantage and finish game in one sweep (usually 5-6k gold).
If we are under pressure, every piece of item will be important to upgrade as fast as possible, so if I have no resources for next teamfight (ex. low hp

My soloq is GM and my aram MMR is 3200ish since I played a ton. I usually queue up solo and win most of the games anyways. Still ppl can just queue together to boost one person's aram MMR tho.

I've played over 4600 games of ARAM since it's release as an official mode. I'm so glad it got unique changes separate to SR because I remember how stupidly broken poke champs were. I also remember when bot leveling was done in ARAM, it was nearly impossible to play a single game without 1 bot on each team. I remember a game from many years ago where there were four bots on each team, it was me against one other guy while these 8 bots proceeded to int. I won because I was playing Varus and got nearly 47 kills in about 10 mins.
Shame I can't check my MMR because I play on OCE :/

I once had 12 straight wins and my average enemies Elo was plat and I am unranked I was gold 3 years ago before going to the army and leave league but, riot doesn't like to see anyone that not one of her minions have a good time so they start to put me with irons and bronze and the enemy be plat's and gold these things don't know how to kite don't know who to focus, always overextend and take million damage for free at that time I had 65% win rate over 1200 games,so if anyone knows how to get to of the official workers on the Aram tell him/her that Aram needs a ton of work
