      True however, that was the era of the Behemoth! Road Warriors, Hercules, Rude, Powers of Pain, Hogan, Luger, Warrior, etc. You know all the Characters. I watch AEW with their roster now, doing all these high spots. I’m like there’s no way 3 fourth of that roster would have sniffed the locker room. To think someone like Orange Cassidy 150 tops or Jungle Boy 160 tops are wrestlers is laughable. The WWE still holds on to that Superhero image somewhat.

      True, and that’s why he’s in AEW. Where’s its all these little acrobatic guys for the most part. Doing high spots all day long. Think about it Orange Cassidy, Jungle Boy, and the other two clowns that are brothers who team up with Kenny Omega. SMALL!!!! Met them all.

      People call McMahon a “genius” for everything. He invented WrestleMania but he didn’t invent his top draws. Hulk Hogan was already somewhat established in AWA, “Macho Man” Randy Savage was who he was *before* he got to WWF. So was Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, and many other stars he plucked from the territories.
      Even Stone Cold Steve Austin came up with his ring name out of happenstance with his ex wife. WWF proposed stupid names to him like Fang McFrost. 😂
      He did provide the platform for them to be seen nationally and worldwide but Vince gets too much credit at times is all I’m getting at.

    • @dkmenace1990
      @dkmenace1990 2 месяца назад

      @James-xx4kb so basically Vince is a genuis for getting his hands on the right talent and via trial and error made some of the biggest stars of all time. He deserves all of the credit given how much money he made since this is a business at the end of the day

    • @James-xx4kb
      @James-xx4kb 2 месяца назад +1

      @@dkmenace1990 Vince’s biggest credit to fans and the wrestling industry is going national from an antiquated territorial system, and creating WrestleMania.
      Like I said, many of his biggest stars in the 80’s were already established talent in other places. He had the wit and business savvy to sign talent from all over the country but he has had many failures as well that usually get glossed over when people talk about his legacy.
      Nobody is perfect, but this is the same guy who initially didn’t see anything special in Steve Austin. They slapped a “Ringmaster” gimmick on him, and Vince didn’t even think Austin could cut a promo, when he was already one of the better promos when he was in WCW. Even when Austin started to change his character a little bit by mid 96’, they had all these stupid names that they had come up for him like “Fang McFrost”! 😂 Can you imagine a future WWF Champion and Hall of Famer named Fang McFrost!!??
      Yeah, that’s the “genius” at work there! 🙄 He didn’t even have the understanding that the biggest catalyst for taking the WWF to new heights at that time was a guy he didn’t even really know what to do with…Steve Austin.
      I’ll give him credit for helping get The Rock over, as he wasn’t a polished guy by the time he got to the WWF. But McMahon always had a good supporting cast of agents, writers, and executives to help cultivate talent that he probably would’ve failed if it were not for them like he almost did with Steve Austin.
      Fast forward all these years later, 2 separate XFL failures under his name, an early 90’s failed bodybuilding league experiment, and countless scandals and lawsuits, and people still consider him a genius. It’s mind boggling to me. He’s been completely tone deaf to the audience and who they cheer for just as he was when Daniel Bryan started to get over.
      Vince has had “genius-like” decisions, and also abhorrent decisions as well. If you balance everything out to me he is just a very savvy businessman who had a lot of luck and a lot of help.

    He seems so humble, like working with Vince was nothing to brag about. Or thinking his run with the Quebecers was nothing to be proud of .That was my golden era and it's left a big imprint on my memory. He was entertaining in a way that a kid doesn't realize is key to the show because he's a heel. Same with Repo Man, Rick Martel and Mountie in 1992.
