Great to see you out again. Great session. That float tube is proving very handy for accessing these isolated lochs. Silver butcher is one of my go to flies for brownies.
Thanks Ian, I’ll definitely be back there. It was good to explore on the float tube but I think I know the areas to target for the bigger fish. Thanks for watching👍
Canny beat the float tube Douglas, it's the most fun way to fish IMHO. Mine will be out next month, on an Ayrshire or Galloway Hill loch, I'll maybe even finally get it filmed and on YT! Loch Thom looks worth a day. Tight lines buddy.
Hi Tony, I think I could’ve used the kayak there. I’m still coming to grips with fly fishing from the kayak. I’m hoping to do some videos fly fishing from the kayak on bigger lochs like Tay, Rannoch and Awe.
Just come across this video and your channel, some excellent content! I also noticed you have the same flippers as I’ve recently just bought ( haven’t been used yet ) do you have a tether as extra protection incase the flippers come loose?
Hi Andrew thanks for commenting buddy. I find the clips on the savage gear fins top quality. I have thought about tethering the fins to my ankles just in case. The only way the fins will fall off will be if the clips fail. The straps certainly won’t slip off, as I have a significant notch on the back of my booties that the strap sits above.
@@davidmathieson4280 Hi buddy, I use the savage gear fins, they’re just like normal dive fins. Because I have the oars on this float tube, I would probably get away with using smaller fins though
Nice one Douglas, thanks for sharing your day out on the water 👍

I'm not overly convinced by my float tube , but it's fantastic watching you boys in them 😊😂
Thanks

Cheers Phil, the float tube is certainly proving it’s worth on exploring new waters. Hopefully more to come as the season progresses.

Cheers buddy, loch Thom certainly worth a day out. The next time I go, I’ll just be targeting the edges.
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing Aye, I find fishing in towards the edge is generally way to go!.
Had a couple of nice fish there last year. The blae and black and the black pennel did the trick
Definitely black flies with some silver are the way to go on the loch. Thanks for watching and commenting mate.
Good to see you over ourside for a change Douge. Ever though of fishing the upper or lower Gryffe?
Cheers mate, don’t really know much about the river, I’ll hopefully be exploring more over that way.

Hi, if you had told me that first bigger fish was a sea trout I would have
believed you,,,,and hunted for a burn down to the sea!

My thoughts exactly, Bonny silver fish.
