  • Dawn Morse, founder of Core Elements Training, demonstrates vacuum Dry Cupping to the wider back region and over the spinous processes, using static and slide techniques.
    Static cupping over the spinous processed can help to reduce muscular tension whilst increasing blood flow to the areas and mobility within the spinous ligaments, that can often become restricted in clients suffering from chronic back pain.
    This is an example of one of the techniques covered in Core Elements accredited day CPD course in Myofascial Dry Cupping, which is available as a face to face course in Swindon and Liverpool, or via Live Online delivery, or fully Online.

    I had cupping done for the first time today. I injured my lumbar spine four years ago and since then my back muscles have weakened and I deal with severe muscle spasms, knots, tightness etc. Muscle relaxers have worn off and now my massage therapist is using cupping. It is effective in a short amount of time. And reduce the knots quickly. It did hurt a bit but it's kind of good pain. To me it felt like the knots were being squeezed until released. Overall I feel great and am happy there's other options for me. I'm tired of taking pills. I might look into chiropractor as well. Good luck to me. ☺️

      @Core Elements Training update: I started seeing a chiropractor two months ago, and my spine has been corrected!! I feel a thousand times better, and my posture is better. I still get cupping one a month because my upper back is adjusting to my corrected spine. I have stiffness and tightness. I started stretching, and it took the upper back pain away. Overall, I am so happy for myself. I don't take any pain meds anymore. Hallelujah 🥰🥰

    Thank you for your videos Dawn. Can you tell me what is the benefit of using a flash technique as opposed to leaving longer, than avoiding visible marks? Does the flash techniques perform anything differently to the skin and muscles as opposed to being kept on long-term?
    Should they be used in the transverse processes and what about areas where there are nerves, I’m assuming you should avoid?

      You can complete 2 or 3 rounds of flash cupping depending on the amount of tension and treatment time available/ treatment area size.
      No it doesn’t damage the spinal area. You should constantly communicate with the person to ensure comfort and to adjust tension.

    Purely from a physiological POV (not to be mean) isn't cupping kind of useless for overweight people? Simplified, I believe the layers go 'skin, fat, facia, muscle'. The main target of cupping is to sort of reverse-massage the facia and muscle tissue, but the more fat that is in-between the skin and the facia, the less effective the cupping is at a constant pressure. Infact, I would argue that it's effectiveness scales logarithmically in the range x=0 to x=infinity, sort of tending towards zero.
    Simply put, i think if you're skinny with muscular issues, then this is a very good option of treatment for you.

    • @CoreElementsTraining
      @CoreElementsTraining  Год назад +3

      Hi Sparky,
      the amount of suction can be adapted to suit different body tones and sensitivity.
      Yes the cups to work on the muscle tissue and produce a stretch reflex to trigger relaxation within this tissue, along with the skin along with connective fascia.
      As you likely know superficial fascia is found directly under the skin and superficial adipose layers. The fascia intertwines and in women on the legs the adipose tissue can push between the fascia to produce the appearance of cellulite.
      If there is more adipose, it doesn't mean that the fascia will not be effected by the cups, but it may mean that you need to use more suction to hit the muscle tissue. However as the fascia is connected to the muscle tissue, by lifting up on the fascia this can also trigger a stretch effect on the muscle tissue below, even if the 'cup' hasn't reached the muscle layer.
      I hope this helps.
