The Harbinger also is missing a finger. This implies he was like John Wick himself, probably a VERY skilled assassin and attends very important meetings as an enforcer. Had John Wick been a "good boy" and played by the rules, he would've probably ended up like the Harbinger.
I can't help but feel he's some legendary assassin kept on a leash by the members of the high table, and could very well had been what John Wick could've ended up as.

    3 things.
    1) the Elder is said to sit "Above the Table", meaning that he doesn't have a seat as one of the heads.
    2) Chidi is just someone that works for the Marquis, not a head of a family himself.
    3) I am also not sure if Marquis is a head or just a member of the families that was given lots of power to take care of John Wick while being expendable himself so that they woulden't louse anything if he died.

I could be wrong but I don't think there's a rule against killing a member of the high table. In Chapter 3 the Adjudicator didn't say John was in trouble for killing Santino, he was in trouble for doing it on Continental grounds. If what this guy says is true then John would have been in trouble for killing the German guy for his sister because he was the head of his family and a member of the high table. It seems that the 12 members of the high table even as heads of their families still live under the same rules of the high table as the assassins do.

The writers basically tell you everything you need to know about the Marquis, Marquis de Sade, he comes from france. They purposefully train their assassins how to speak in each language without an accent or a hint of where they are originally from in order to protect their leaders who give them assassinations to attempt. I suspect that since Marquis is French that it's likely the high table and all of it's branches allow the leaders to choose the assassins they want from their histories and their completed jobs.

Than when his sister was dead, Santino D'Antonio placed a bounty on John Wicks head leading to the dead of Santino D'Antonio himself, killed by John Wick. If the High Table really have a list of all these markers, they would know that Santino D'Antonio "cheated" the system. Some minor corrections: The opinion is that the Harbinger originates from the same group as the Adjudicator does, and is NOT a member of the High Table, but an enforcer who carries the weight of the High Table. This can be proven by the letter he gave Winston declaring the Continental New York to be "condemned". Winston revealed this to Charon, and told him that it had the signatures of ALL 12 members of the High Table. He didn't sign it, he simply brought it to Winston and gave him the hour that it would carried out.
Also, the missing finger is actually associated with the Yakuza Crime Syndicate, and it a physical way to make atonement to ones oyabun, or "boss, overlord, one over others" in Japanese. This often entails the loss of a finger, sometimes even an ear or toes to say "I'm sorry I failed". As for the High Table, it is modeled in Roman Catholicism and even uses many of its terms. Like consecrated/deconsecrated, excommunicado (exile, banishment) And the THIRTEEN members of the High Table. Like the 12 Apostles at the Last Supper. And Jesus Christ above them, but sits with them. The Elder is basically their "Jesus" but acting more like an overseer and tie breaker for a vote. He sits above them. Also, the High Table members must be descendents of the original founding members. Like the DiSantorio family they go back to Roman times and the fittest of their children inherit the seat. Unless there is a "dispute" to that fitness to lead. Also, the gambler the Roska Roma asked for a tooth not as a trophy, but as proof of his death. Settlements of this nature often require a "souvenir" of sorts as proof to the family, and to the High Table of the unfortunate demise of a member. It was the only way John Wick could be claimed by a family. And for punishment of the Table Members? Let the punishment fit the infraction. The director's helping hands? Paid in blood with her hands being impaled. The Bowery King? 7 bullets, 7 bloody cuts for penance and reasserting of fealty.

I have a really powerful connecting theory, it’s a “Nerd Gift” that I have, by through the actors, you see in a slightly different wide range of the different universe, as you said this being the John Wick Universe, I connect that to something to others, to me John Wick is like a “Batman”, what was said about him from Viggo Tarasov to his idiot son Iosef Tarasov, “He is the man you send to kill the Boogeyman”, following that to the final one, of the main villain who afraid of John Wick, Marquis Vincent de Gramont, now actor Bill Skarsgard, in the horse stable he clearly showed a slight emotional response of how John Wick is driving him to to his insanity, even the way he dressed, similar to the “Joker”, and in Joker did he play of horror clown 2017 to 2019 “It”, which happens to be the Boogeyman of Derry, Maine Town, now you see where it all perfectly forms up in place of this “connecting theory” of mine, it’s all pretty extraordinary of one other film to another matches up, one actor being similar to another creature, matches up to words said about the other.

Not millennium, maybe recent couple few hundred years, from my understanding the high table is control by 12 most powerful criminals organisations in the world, mainly from major power, japan could be black dragon society or Yamaguchi-gumi, China could be Tiandihui the original triad, US could be head of five mafia families etc. below them there is second rated seat as marquis mentioned in the movie. It’s is structured is very similar to UN I believe, the elder is very likely the representative of the big 12

There are only 2 definite members of the high table. 1) The Marquis and 2) Santino. I think it's safe to assume whoever took over from Santino also took his place on the high table.
Now you could make arguments for Killa Harkan, The Director and Chidi. Personnally I believe that the Director is a member, but Chidi was just an agent/enforcer and Killa was just an associate.
As far as The Elder. I believe he was above the high table and therefore probably wasn't classed as a member. I saw someone mention the Tarasov family but that to me makes no sense. If there boss was a member, then why was Viggo Terrified of John and why did he pretty much just accept his sons death?. Viggo was the boss of the Tarasov family so Surely Viggo would have just been 'You touch my son, you're dead'. I guess it could be a plot hole, but I just don't think so.
So in summary I believe that it looks something like the following:
    The Boss - The Elder
High Table Members - 1) The Marquis, 2) Santino's replacement. Possibilties 3) The Director, 4) Killa Harkan, 5) Chidi.
High table Agents/Enforcers - 1) Chidi, 2) The Harbinger. Possibility 3) Killa Harkan.
The Elders Enforcer - 1) The Adjudicator.

Viggo was the boss of the American branch of the Tarasov family. His brother (Peter Stormare) is about to fuck out of the region, be it New York or America, it's unclear. The 4th movie does mention the Tarasovs as they were to meet with Koji in the Osaka Continental. I believe each member of the High Table resides at their country of origin, which is why Gianna D'Antonio in Italy while Santino was in New York, he would represent the Camorra in NY, but his sister was the superior leader. Viggo was the boss of the American branch of the Tarasovs and there's probably someone above him, and older brother or uncle perhaps, all the way back in Russia.
We don't know the inner politics of the members of the High Table, and it's unclear if the Ruska Roma are actual members of the High Table or just bellow it, since the Director says she "will serve" and Vincent claims that their seat is "second-rate", but he's an asshole and that might just be bigotry. If the Ruska Roma are below the Table, that explains John leaving them to serve under the Tarasovs in America. John's infamous task was the complete extermination of Tarasov's rivals in a single night. I believe there was another family, maybe a russian one, perhaps even from the Table, and the catch was that by taking the on the task, John would've placed a target on his back, and that was Santino's favor, keeping heat off his ass.

    • @pwiddy7735
      @pwiddy7735 10 месяцев назад

@@elessartelcontar147 That doesn't make sense because if the rivals was a member of the high table they could have ordered John be killed, Santino wasn't a member of the high table at that point and there's no way Santino would have been able to keep the high table off of John.
The only situation I can think off is this:
Let's say Viggo's father was the boss of the entire Tarasov family and it was he that sits on the high table, he then orders John to take out there rivals who where the Camorra's, let's say for power in NY. Viggo's father then gives John a marker for his silence as the Camorra's also sit at the high table, because Viggo's father knows that if the high table found out then he would be killed and the Tarasov family would be removed from the high table. Which also means that Viggo and his brother know they can't move against John because of the marker there father gave him. John then handed the marker back to Viggo's father in exchange for him not ordering repercussions for killing his grandson and son.
As for Santino, he found out about the hit on his family and decided to let it happen but on the condition that John give Santino a marker which Santino knew he could then use to get John to take out his sister so he could take her place on the high table.
I mean it does sound very far fetched, but it may be able to explain it if the Tarasov family does have a place on the high table.

Welp first the elder is someone who sits above the table, and has pretty much the highest authority,
2ndly, marquis along with his family had association with the high table, but not a holder of the one of the twelve seats, he was selected and approved by the 12 seats member as the person to punish john wick and everyone who helped him with full backing and the backing became even more powerful after john shots the elder, also chidi works for marquis not a member of high table.
3rdly, the 12 seats of the high tables are basically are occupied by strongest crime families in the world, and only 7 were revealed, russian bratava, Chinese triad, camorras, japanese yakuza, latin america cartels, costa nostra, ndrangheta.
4th, I don't think it's against any rules to kill a member of the high tables, only problem is that the family of the deceased will put a bounty worldwide to hunt you down, because when the adjuducator came in newyork she clearly said, that a member of the hightable was killed while taking sanctuary in the continental hotel, and under his watch and he didn't killed John because he deemed it not to be, she never said anything about john breaking rules except killed someone in the continental grounds, and just mentions that he has killed two members of the high table and has killed dozens of men.
About the other members of the 12 seats prob a few of then are occupied by governments, cause they are all doing this under their noses, so they will most def needs some sort of agreement between them, or maybe some strong criminal families with old heritages.

The Marquis was never confirmed as a High Table member; rather, Winston asserted that he served as a conduit for the High Table to channel their authority and directives to eliminate John Wick. Chidi, not being a member but embodying the Marquis, operated as a physical agent. It's noteworthy that the Elder doesn't hold a conventional seat within the High Table; explicit information suggests he occupies a position superior to the High Table, seated above its authority.
