Thank you for sharing this .. I was lucky enough to get a ticket and be part of the 'audience'. It was a real experience and brings back happy memories. I know the programme got slated at the time but at least it was imaginative. With this and the OGWT we were really lucky in the 1970's. What do todays 16 - 18 year old get to see at 'live' music on the TV!

i saw the buzzcocks live 3 times around 78, and they were one of the best live bands i ever saw, nothing like the top of the poppy appearances. the lp 'another music..' is one of the best i owned, unfortunately i lent it out and never got it back

For this programme I used to put my tape recorder up close, with the mic extended to the telly volume outlet.
Anyone under the age of about 30, viewing this, is probably wondering what I'm going on about.

Aged nine, the first album I ever bought was Another Music in Another Kitchen. These two tunes are between that album and Love Bites. This Revolver footage and others (Only Ones, Stranglers, Rich Kids, TRB, X Ray Spex) is amongst the best anywhere. And, if I am buying an LP at nine, I've heard and seen a lot of music.

Maybe even better - this looks like the 'Entertaining Friends' tour. When I saw this tour neither of these two songs had been released (the single might have come out before the tour reached London). The third "you wont be able to sing along with this" song that followed these immediately in the set list was 'have you ever fallen in love...' The support group was Pauline Murray's Penetration. Great times.

So me and me bird was dancin in Barbs and this fella off the TV named Mickey Most said "I got a new show and I want you to be innit" We was invited to Revolver and we stayed. Peter Cook was a southern tosser but he did share his whisky so all in all it was a good crack. Seen the Buzzcocks, Only Ones, Rich Kids, Kate Bush, Rezillos, loads more. Back of the ATV studios was a crappy little street called Broad Street fulla run down shops. Me and Mick threw washing up liquid into a fountain nearby. I believe that was the first time something like that happened. There was also a fella we used to call goreous george. He became Boy George but between you and me he was a bit of a...
Show was cancelled after first series, and Broad Street became Broad Street, the fountain was moved to by the library and Birmingham Council took pride in it. Sadly it was removed because of ppl throwing washing up liquid in it.

Not too impressed with the first song, 'Noise Annoys' (I still own Another Music in a Diffferent Kitchen, & I confess it's IMO crap) but the Buzzcocks were always great for their singles. 'Love You More' is just one good example - even if it does, in many ways, sound like 'What do I Get?' pt II.
