Love you Jim, my family and I have loved you since you first appeared on TV in the 70s , most normal people understand there's never been any racism behind your jokes or characters , we knew you were drawing inspiration from real life characters and seeing the funny side of humanity , my family have very close friends who arrived in the UK in the late 50s , they came from Morant bay in Jamaica , members of that family still live next door to my grandparents old house , they used to come around ( the two kids who were my age 7/8 ) on Saturday evenings for tea, I remember it to this day , Rory ( one of my friends ) asked my grandad if we could watch a program on granada channel , he said yes and after a few mins Jim was in a he did the chalky character , my friends were crying with laughter , they kept saying look he's just like uncle Raymond , I got to meet Raymond , he was just as my mates described , he used to do impressions of chalky ( to his family and friends ) to this day they still do chalky impressions .
I remember the good old days of Jim’s borderline comedy. Our Jamaican household used to laugh at some of Jim’s jokes but we really cringed when he did the Chalky character. I don’t think Jim was really racist but I don’t think he realized how much impact his comedy was having on the psyche of all British people. Us kids thought it was mostly harmless fun back in the 70s and early 80s. Its only when I look back and recall how white kids, and locals used that stereotype against us at school and in the workplace (thats if we were lucky to find a job in that era) adding racist expletives in reference to the Chalky character. They were laughing whilst abusing us, they weren’t laughing with us that was for sure. We lived in a decent multicultural community in Manchester, but it still was a really tough time for black folks. Jim was nowhere near as offensive as Comedians like Bernard Manning but it still didn’t make it any easy for us. Reflecting on those days through rose tinted spectacles are few and far between, to say the least.
I have to ask you all. If you didn’t or don’t like Jim Davidson ‘s comedy tv appearances why did you watch it ? Why didn’t you just turn the tv off or to another channel as I do when I see savage and brutal violence or abuse portrayed on it. If I was Jamaican I would probably return to live there if I could as it looks absolutely fabulous, a sun kissed paradise, a beautiful island perhaps to retire to.❤️

South Asian Muslims will vote for him simply because he is a Muslim, and rarely voice doubts about him. Until the millions who work as mechanics, taxi drivers, or any other jobs depending on petrol and diesel cars all become unemployed, or try to find employment in the new, green economy. With massive cuts in their living standards. When they notice how screwed they are it’ll be too late. Perhaps they can all become rickshaw riders in London, trying to earn from tourists who won’t exist, having used all their carbon allowances.

Truly heart breaking - in my clubbing days I never took taxis at 5 am I used to walk across London and this rounded off my night - what a beautiful city it is before the crap gets out of bed to trash it all over again. The violence is off the scale now. I worked in the West End for 30 years, now I just can't handle going there, even though my grown up children live there. 6 months ago I was on a bus in Central London and there were two people actually chasing the dragon off some foil in the middle of the afternoon on the Bus!!!
People must realise that the people that come here will NEVER cherish this country like it's their own. So sorry to sound over "excited" but honestly after all my grandparents sacrificed and did in their young lives for "freedom" I just can't help it.

Hi, Dan! I watch all of your shows and clips (from Ohio, USA) but I have to say this is my favorite! It was like a listening to two old friends chatting.
