Wow thanks for another great video! This is the first time I've heard of DCC-EX... NOW I have a whole new way to see the hobby. I am a computer guy and the idea of small computers running DCC is awesome! I currently own a Digitrax starter but this Blunami and phone throttle is neat. I definitely see the future of radio controlled trains (dead rail) as since I've been flying model airplanes and witnessed batteries, motors, computers have all only gotten smaller with better output and runtime. Thanks again for the great videos.
As a person who doesn’t like to spend money I was anxious about having to pay to get dcc work done. But my grandfather taught me how to do the work. Now whenever I paint one of my engines or put a decoder in one I also do a batch of engines for other people so that every time I have to buy a decoder it pays for itself. Also dcc isn’t that expensive if you buy used equipment. I have spend $300 on my setup but I have a mainpower unit and two boosters along with 7 remotes.
Great video, most people are just too intimidated to try new things and realize they can do something new. Large collection of DC engines will cost a lot of money to convert to DCC unfortunately.
Im not sure about what you refer to as "Deadrail" did i hear right that it means the locos run with batteries? And you can add dcc. This is quite a development. Tell me more. Ive done the hobby in SA here since i was 11. Had 4 over time. Due to the economic and political climate(especially now)the hobby could be on the brink.of distinction but not totally dead yet. Some are having it difficult with the time, space and finance triangle(i was lucky with all 3 to a point)but the desire is there. I myself unfortunately am not on dcc yet too expensive here and also i am unable to find soundfile for certain loco (SAR class 26-3450Red Devil) so its dc till i get sorted out😅 any way, thanks for interesting video have a good day🙂
Great interview Al. Thanks for doing this with Howard and I. Very good topics
Yay, I’m very exciting❤😊😊😊😊❤
