It always fascinated me how they got this region so complicated, with timberwolves, weak ice deltas, obstacle course, constant auroras, passcode which requires you to get all the way from the ravine and pray to God it has a rope in one of the two spawn points (which mine today hasnt so I had to make my way to Coastal Highway) like I just want to make some bullets hinterland :(
This is my favorite ammo workshop because once you reach the mountaineers rope you're safe from wolves attack if you have high tier armor like a moose hide coat and combat boots you can completely ignore the wolves and run straight for the rope
I doubt the jump would work if you were heavy. In practical terms the jump is more stylish than useful. It does, however, allow you to bypass the Timberwolves there.
I looked around to see if it was possible, but at first didnt manage. Then later I tried again with the rock cache and, well... it worked :D painful shortcut, though
You’ll take literally zero damage, find a ton of loot along the way and can hunker down with a workbench at your access. All without wasting a rock cache or taking damage.
I really need to pull this off right now, I've just used all my stims to get to the cannery to open the locked door (during the Aurora) I've got a broken rib from the Moose :( so I can't climb the rope. Basically I'm stuffed lol
@@frankjames1955 not sure I follow, sorry. Normally you get to the walkway via the rope. Do you maybe have a video or something so I can see what you mean?
I dont think you save time at all - I think it takes longer this way. It is not worth it :) But if you take the regular route you don't get style points :P
This path is not correct. The correct path is through the shed ahead. There is a ladder that takes you to the roof where you can easily follow the path to where you took that suicidal leap.
The whole point is that this is a shortcut so that you dont have to go the regular route over the roof ;) I assume you meant the rope climb in the shed, not a ladder?

@@sainthegamer2451 No, this is just a shortcut for the route there. Instead of climbing the whole obstacle route you can do this instead (or kimis way - see link in description). You still need the code for the door.
@@Zaknafein thanks for the link. kimi's way seems a lot simpler, although to be honest, I have never actually built a rock cache since I could never spare the weight of carrying too many rocks during runs. hehe

You could rock climb down but will have to exit out to FM

I love the long dark BUT i have to admit this map is bullcrap. Its called RESTRICTIVE GAME DESIGN and its destroying the player experience
They did it because they were afraid that the game became too easy

If you do it the normal way, yes :) But then you can't do a matrix-style jump!
