Go for it. I've loved Irish dance ever since I was a kid, but we didn't have an Irish dance studio in my area until I was almost thirty. Guess what? I signed up, even though I was (by far) the oldest student in the class. I may never have reached competition-level skill, but I was able to keep up with the others well enough. If I could do it, so can you. And if you don't have a dance studio in your area, there are always RUclips tutorials. Give yourself a chance - you may surprise yourself!

Um, you do realize that dancers 'train the smile' onto their faces, right? I'm not saying they don't enjoy dancing. You can't be that good at something you don't enjoy. And they are VERY good. To me, the smile showed intense concentration. And I thoroughly enjoyed watching.
I love watching Irish step dancing, it never ceases to maze me how fast the dancers can move their and stay in the same place at the same time. I know if I were to try this, I'd be all over the place, not to mention twisting my ankles as well as kicking and stepping on my feet coastantly.
They always show Irish skies like Irish eyes - smiling. But its like here in northern New England - Sunny with a 50MPH wind and a temperature of minus 2! Cheers!

My grandparents came from Ireland. I love to dance and dance very differently than everyone else here. I dance a lot with my feet. I think the dance is in our bones and I love to watch you. It's so fun and I adore and admire all of you.
