I was there for this and the last few minutes at the end, where they’re all dancing in unison, including all the dancers off stage (they went the whole way around the perimeter of the stadium ground), made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The pounding of their tap shoes hitting the ground at the same time is so loud, you can feel it in your chest. Absolutely amazing. I’ll never forget it.
I am an Irish girl and all the lovely comments about Ireland warm my heart, we are a small little nation but a proud one and riverdance is one of our glorious exports🙌❤
Ireland is one of the places I would love to visit one day. My family originated from there back in the late 1600's. I would move there if I weren't from Texas. 🙂

It's amazing what one small island has given the world; an Irish dance and Irish music phenomenon that is dearly loved worldwide. And it all started in The Point in 1994 as an interval act to Eurovision. Proud to be Irish and honoured to say that I come from the land of Riverdance.

So many great folk festivals in England especially in places like Bath and even Cambridge. I lived in London for many years and experienced nothing but kindness from English people and made some amazing friends there. Ive always considered England my second home. My granny was from the west country and I'm very proud of my English blood.

From what I've seen, a few things but mostly related to how Irish relate to their society... In many cultures when things go wrong, people take care of themselves. In Irish culture, when things go wrong, people embrace each other and pull together - watch out for each other. I saw statistics showed that even in the recent financial crisis when Irish people had much less and were very worried about finances, the Irish were still the most charitable people in Europe. And Irish have such a sad history they don't expect too much - appreciate the simple things, like friends telling a good story, singing a song, etc. And Irish are also statistically the most equal society in Europe - and people don't like to show off to each other - people get ridiculed if they act like a big shot - and the country is too small you don't want to get a bad reputation. People keep humble. Culturally, you also know someone really likes you when he insults you - and the best thing you can do is agree and laugh at yourself. That bonds people. I find it amazing just arriving at the Dublin airport, the warm welcome - the sense of humour, the genuine interest in stranger, etc...
To think this dancing was formed originally to abide to the rules of the Church is spine tingling. Now, hundreds of years later, seeing His Holiness taking such delight in it is simply wonderful. Pope Francis always touches the heart. This dance always gives me thousands of goosebumps. This is just beyond...
I can't listen to barely ten seconds of traditional Irish Music.. Before my Irish blood kicks in, and I get tears in my Eyes.. And the Hairs on the back of my Neck stand up..
I don't think many of my generation or younger realise how much Riverdance changed and revolutionised traditional Irish dance. Still has the heart and soul, but really brought it into the modern day. What a beautiful rendition this was. I watched the VHS of Riverdance hundreds of times as a kid.
I really really enjoyed watching everyone that was Irish dancing well done to ye all I was surprised at the end of year performancet was amazing the way ye all came together was so amazing well done 👍👍👍

The irish folk Music and stepdance are my favorit culture.
I'm german and mostly i sing irish Songs.
Beautiful Nation Ireland

Absolutely brilliant dancer very talented and such a nice song I’m a massive fan of Irish music

I’m convinced Ireland is just a fairytale story land that somehow ended up in our universe and I’m of Irish descent.
Ssshhh don't tell everyone our secret.... 🤨

How incredible! I really enjoyed this. I always wonder about the thumbs down. Do some people live such sad little lives that they would disapprove of something this wonderful?
not even Irish and yet I'm so proud of them
Can you imagine what it was like for us
but nothing to say about a man who covers for pedophiles and the insane wealth of the church ?? disgusting, DISGUSTING !
Pope Francis is the man.
Jesus all the Way.
🙏🇮🇪
The little girl of irish heritage living in england will Always want to be Jene butler! Always! I'm 32 now and no matter how old I get she was my hero growing up I always felt connected to my routes even though I was so far from them....riverdance gave me a way to be part of my culture although I was away from it the joy I feel to this day watching dancers using Jene and michaels choreography always inspires me and hopefully a world of younger dancers coming up when in your heart you can even recognize the dance their doing purely from the sound of their feet without even looking....you know they made an impact on your soul 💜
OMG! The woman dancing in the intro is the epitome of feminine beauty.
Thats Amy Mae Dolan
There is no woman more beautiful than a redhead Irish woman.
You mean, Amy Mae Dolan? Yeah, indeed a good looker.
If looking lik a hooker = a feminine beauty.
