Yes, however it’s a better watch than the moonswatch.

The movement definitely isn't made of plastic. “Sistem51’s movement is made entirely of ARCAP, an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc with exceptional anti-magnetic qualities.”
Great video and explanations. You are right, collecting watches doesn't mean that you have to buy expensive luxury watches. It's great to have both, expensive watches, and inexpensive ones, such as this Blancpain x Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms. I think it's a great watch, and an introduction to Blancpain.
But it is an expensive watch. You can get a real steel serviceable diver that will last a lifetime for this money, a Seiko Five, or a Steeldive or similar. Hell you can get a real fake steel serviceable "Blancpain" that has just as much right to wear the name as this.
Next your gonna tel me a smartwatch is "up there" too. Watch collectors usually collect watches for what they stand for or heritage. This is a gimmick at best for collectors who want to some day flip it. i heard you cant even service it for crying out loud. Its a "fire and forget" watch. And so will its memory i guess. Hypes always fade. A Seiko in that range can last you a lifetime this wont.
Very honest and frank review, nice one Harrison! I just think that to be taken less seriously it needs and should be priced more cheaply at retail, at its price point there are just too many good real horology alternatives.

It is about journey I have a watch I’m only a carpenter but wore it for 25 years for work every day sent back to Seiko just once for a major operation but it’s fine now I Think more of that watch than any other watch I have. I’m 69 retired I have an easier life more importantly so does the watch.

This was before the Storm ocean was released. It was as close to the original as you could get at the time, the strap is much better than the moonswatch hands down and the quality is much better, I just wish they would have made the moon watch with the same care, maybe with the snoopy, things might improve.

Here's a question for you, if VS Factory (the best fake Rolex factory in China) bought out the entire Hans Wilsdorf Foundation (which obv they can't afford to do, but just imagine they did), do all the fake Rolex's they made suddenly become real? No? Then this watch is a fake. It's never been near the Blancpain factory, it was made by another company.
It's not about fake Blancpain or real. It's a colab; they legally allowed their name to be used. Also, no one for a second think it's an actual Blancpain cause it clearly says Swatch on it! Vs a Chinese company stealing designs and brand and people wearing them pretending they're the real brand.
For me legibility is king. That means that I would not chose the light blue or the orange version. Dark blue first than green than yellow. But I would not buy one.
Swatch and Omega/Blancpain on a common mission? As an Omega fan and owner of a Seamaster from 2016 and a new Omega GMT-OREGO, I don't find the co-operation funny at all. I paid a lot of money for a good name, a good brand and a good product and I don't want my product to be mentioned in the same breath as Swatch watches. In my opinion, Omega/Blancpain are voluntarily moving into the area of cheap watches and are significantly undermining the high reputation/level they have achieved over the years. Just imagine the following: Smart builds a cheap E-Class and throws it onto the market with the Mercedes star... unimaginable. However, Mercedes was smart enough not to directly associate the Mercedes name with the SMART brand, even though SMART belongs to Mercedes. Another example, how would the Rolex community react if Rolex did such co-branding. When it comes to Moonswatch/Scuba Fathomes, people are supposed to consciously buy a cheap copy of a good brand? Really now. Co-branding can also go wrong and damage Omega/Blancpain's image, right? What’s more: is perhaps even the “big” Moonwatch becoming less interesting for real watch nerds? Maybe this will also lead to more people buying a “real” Omega/Blancpain fake. I also don't think anyone would buy such a knock-off in order to perhaps later upgrade to a real Omega. But we will see. The Swatch Groupe has recently managed to get the good name of OMEGA/Blancpain into eBay classifieds/bulky waste newspaper. There, collectors can now choose from the large selection of currently around 800 watches. This now also includes fakes from the fakes. At least there the purchase is not limited to one watch per person.
I think it looks better than current catalog of real blancpain 😂 they could have made it w ceramics and use real blancpain movement and charge $$. But real non limited blancpains are ugly and look cheap.

It’s like the replica they sell in museum gift stores. They don’t devalue the original pieces and give more people a chance to appreciate the art.
