    I really hope this video is helpful! I'm still using a Magic Mat for Die Cutting and it has been a game changer. BTW, I am aware that the music is a bit loud in the video. If this gets irritating, I recommend turning down the volume and turning ON the Closed Captions. At this time, there isn't a way to turn the background music down without turning ALL of the audio down. I may make an updated video in 2024-2025...let me know if you'd like to see one!

    I've been using a cheap A4 self- healing cutting mat with my Big Shot Plus for years. It's exactly the right thickness, lasts a lot longer than an acrylic mat and doesn't warp either. Also a lot cheaper to replace!

      Thanks so much for the feedback. I'm so happy that my video was helpful and I'm sorry that you didn't like the background music. This video is about a year and a half old, so I had to check to see what I used back then. It's actually a free and royalty free track that a lot of crafter's have been using for years.... I think I've heard it on Lawn Fawn and other company videos. Don't quote me, I didn't go back and research the specifics. One solution if you don't like the music on anyone's video is to turn down the volume and turn on the closed captions. I'm always trying to improve all parts of my videos, but can't afford to purchase a bunch of audio tracks. If you know of somewhere I can get good sound file downloads without viruses for free, I'd love to know about it! At the moment, I'm still working with what I can. Eventually I'll make enough to afford some of the more fancy things.

      @@DebbieJsCraftingCorner sorry I don't know much about that. I didn't mean to be rude it's just I only have hearing in one ear and the music interferred with my hearing and so many times the sound of the music is louder than the presenters so if there is a way to turn it down some rather than it interfering with your great review that would be helpful. I don't use my Sizzix much but realized last nite that my embossing folders could be used for molds for polymer clay. I have several die cutting machines I have for sale so if you know anyone interest, have a Spellbinder, a Sizzix, a Memory Keeper with the attachable motor and some other. I cut so seldom I just don't need, and because I don't I am not good at it. The Vagabond II and I get along well as does the little one. Since purchasing all these machines I have gone back to what I am good at and that is drawing. Again sorry as I reread it was rather harsh and I am sorry.

      That's fantastic. I'm so happy that you found a great solution too. I don't think that mat is available in the US, and the other self-healing mats that I've tried don't work as well as the Magic Mat has. I've been using 2 of them almost daily for the last 3 years and they haven't needed to be replaced yet. AND I haven't had to replace a clear plate either.

    SO … What’s the bottom line? You DID show us that the M.M. was warping slightly because you didn’t flip it regularly through the process, but I noticed at the end that there was “threads” of paper stuck in the cuts in the M.M. QUESTIONS, please: Did these mar the word die CUTS ? Did you have any issues cleaning them out of the M.M.? Or did you leave them stuck in the mat? Have you ever used a cut-up self healing mat for these machines? And, if so, how do they compare to the Magic Mat? Thanks so V E R Y much for your efforts with this demo. I’m VERY much interested in this one, as I, too, have a Sizzix machine (BigShot). Be well, and thanks again!!

    Hmmmm.....looks like it requires a shim for it to get a good cut.....I'm not too crazy about that. I had wanted one because......if you've watched my videos.....my Cuttlebug plates have seen better days. I do have another set I can use but I will use the current ones until they die.....LOL But I thought the magic mat would be good to replace my current mat. But I went to Scrapbook.com and it appears they do have one for the Cuttlebug but they are out of stock. They have the long one you're showing and I do also have long Cuttlebug mats, but since I think I've only used those once I would rather have the regular size. All you need is to turn over your cutting plates or mat as soon as it starts to wrap. It lasts for ages if used on this way. Also shim I always adding under adaptor and the same size as plates are to give even pressure and do not worn them off unnecessary.

      thanks for the feedback. I've found that different machines give different pressure, and the 3 machines I've tried so far all give a LOT of pressure and cause my plates to warp even with regular turning. I've been using a Magic Mat for over 2 years now and haven't had to replace a clear plate in that time although I AM diecutting much more than before. I hated to die cut before the Magic Mat. • @DebbieJsCraftingCorner
      @DebbieJsCraftingCorner  Год назад +2

      Thanks for the feedback... what size did you get? I have an extended size (6x14.5 shown in this video) and some standard size (6.125 x 8.75 shown in most of my die cutting videos) and have never had a problem. I use them in my Gemini Junior, Sizzix Big Shot with extended platform and my Platinum 6. Since I don't have one of the super big machines, like the Gemini or Platinum, I don't buy any of the super big dies since they wouldn't fit the machine. The big shot plate dimensions are listed online as 8.74 x 6.1 inches... so a standard magic mat should work perfectly... as long as the dies fit the standard big shot plates. If you are using an extended platform with the long plates, you'd need the extended magic mat. All of the mats have the dimensions listed and a list of compatible machines in the product description.
      If you ordered the extended length mat and they sent you a standard by mistake, I recommend contacting Scrapbook.com to get a replacement. I'm sure they will help you out (I don't work for them, but expect that they will make it right).
      If you ordered the standard and thought it was the longer one, you are in luck because I just checked out the site and they are half price right now. ( $12.99 as of Sept 19,2023 - shrsl.com/12ri1-5qd-l6nsi6_1-1) I have extra mats (also bought on sale) because I didn't really expect the mats to last so long... been using mine for 3 years. I do switch between a couple because I get lazy and don't feel like flattening out a slightly warped mat when working on a project... even though it only takes a few minutes. LOL

      @DebbieJsCraftingCorner  Год назад +1

      Great question. I've had this mat for about 3 yrs, and before the switch came out. Scrapbook.com has a Sizzix - Big Shot Switch Plus - Accessory - Cutting Pads and Magic Mat Plus Bundle on their site (black friday deal is 12% off with code BLACKFRIDAY)... here is my affiliate link if you choose to get it - shrsl.com/12ri1-5qd-l6oedh_1-1 Before buying one, I would recommend checking with Sizzix to see if using the mat would void the warranty. I wouldn't think so, but you won't know unless you ask them. All of the machines I use are out of warranty, and I've never had an issue with any of them using the magic mat. But you never know. Just because Scrapbook.com has created something that is compatible with the machine doesn't mean that the machine manufacturer won't say that using it will void your warranty. Based on the warranty info I found on the sizzix site (www.sizzix.com/media/uploads/cms/uk/pdf/English/Switch-Warranty-Updates.pdf), as long as you use a product that is deemed compatible, I think you should be fine. You may ant to ask them directly to be sure.

      Hi, actually I am saying for a fact that using the Magic Mat WILL, IN FACT void your warranty. My machine no longer fully ejects the plates and Sizzix denied any responsibility to replace the machine because I used a Magic Mat in when I submitted a video to show them what my machine is doing/not doing. I can't even imagine how many Magic Mats have been sold and will result in voided warranties. I imagine people have no idea that their handy little Magic Mat just voided the warranty on their $300 machine. @@DebbieJsCraftingCorner

      Thanks for letting us know. As I mentioned, this video was recorded prior to the Switch release. With any new product, you have to be a little cautious about what you use with it because companies can't really be responsible for whether another companies product works well with theirs. For instance, I have a WeRMemoryKeepers Foil Quill and I have a ScanNCut. Using the quill with the machine would void the warranty.... if it was still under warranty. You always want to check the warranty rules with any new product, whether it's crafting related or not.
