Thank you! I purchased Big Shot pro last year, and have just begun my quilting journey. I am SO excited to use those accucut go in there as making anything will be so accurate. I am not, necessarily, on my own so this is absolute gold. So grateful for this info.
I love this video!! I never tried using my big shot for fabric so I'm excited to try it. Do you know of a log cabin block die that would work? I wanted the AccuQuilt GO! 12 Inches Accurate Log Cabin Square Fabric Cutting Die with Multiple Sizes but isn't it too large for the big shot?
Great info on all the machines and their capabilities. Thanks tons. phone or camera on a tripod would be ideal for both the viewer's viewing comfort and smooth transitions when changing focus to a different location. It would fix the sea-sick feeling when it moves subtly and the high shelf behind you goes in and out of view. The sneeze by person holding 'camera' was hilarious. You are professional in many ways and a tripod would probably make it more fun for your assistant while tightening up the filming.
I have the big shot plus machine but I can’t afford the dies for cutting fabric! The big shot plus was given to me as a gift! The dies are so expensive!
they are not cheap, but they are not any more expensive than other dies of that size, but i understand - you need to be sure you will get your uses out of which ever die you get :)- Nancy
You should put the dies between the cutting mats and not on the multi purpose platform, as you will damaged it, as it still marks both sides of the cutting mats x
looking at getting the Sizzix for rag quilt dies. I understand the Plus should work for the 6 1/2" die with an adapter - however i"m not finding this G adapter anywhere, nor any information on it. Any idea if its changed in the Sizzix line now?
I found one on this website - www.sewingpartsonline.com/sizzix-big-shot-plus-adapter-g.aspx?msclkid=2b52d0c9c55d10ac8185b229d2594c82&**LP%20-%20Shop%20-%20Sewing%20Supplies%20-%20Tools%20-%20Misc&C%20Sizzix%20Bigz%20Die,%20Ovals%20%232%20%7C%20%2419.99
Please help where can I order the black cutter pads for one inch cardstock hexagons and one and a quarter inch corresponding fabric. I have been researching for days.
Where do you get the actual dies for quilting? I want to try and make a quilt with hexagons with a big shot plus. Mum wanted to make a quilt but suffered a stroke. I am disabled but also have chronic health problems please can you give me advice on the dies I need. Unfortunately I can't afford to pay for your Channel but any advice on what I need to purchase would be appreciated. Thank you
Hi :) - Honestly I'm not totally sure. I used to work for a wholesale distributor so I know if the products were even available any more. I think you best idea would be to use an Accuquilt die - theses can be used in a Big Shot with a shim or in an Accuquilt. Accuquilt even has and electric version of their cutting machine. My friend Renee has a quilt shop and get all the Accuquilt dies and machines - contact her :) renee@reneeshouseofquilting.com
Hi Robin, I can think of two things. 1 - be sure that you have the correct sandwich of plates. If it still not cutting and you are using the base plate and the two cutting mats you might want to consider adding "just a little bit more" - a piece of cardboard or something like that on top the base plate, under the bottom cutting plate. 2 - to cut fabric, i normally works best with a metal cutting plate to get a very sharp edge. Let me know if these ideas help :)
I found some on www.connectingthreads.com/ - you will probably need to purchase through the internet. Firesidequilts.com can get you some but many are older, you would need to let me know which ones you are looking for. And you can use any Accuquilt die with the Sizzix Big Shot (depending on what size die and machine you have) by using the Adaptor Plate G. You can right me at quiltingwithnancy@gmail.com if you have more questions.
it depends on the big Shot you have. Some dies are wider than others. There are 3 Big shots, the largest is the Pro and it would fit any Accuquilt die. I own the Plus and it fits most of the dies. When i say it fits it is the thickness of the die. With the use of the adapter plate G from Sizzix, your big shot can cut with the Accuquilt Dies. the Big shot dies are too thick for the Accuquilt machine.
@@QuiltingWithNancy I have the regular Big Shot, not the Pro. I shaved down an Accuquilt die to make it fit in my Big Shot. But then I saw the Accuquilt on sale and I just bought it. What I like is that you can get emb. designs to match the dies!! So cool!

Thank You. I have a big shot but have not known whatever to do with it. I am a quilter!, Thank you very mutchi
Just got the plus. Now I need to get dies for quilting
Awesome information on the big shot and loved the pinwheel technique! You’re amazing and have a great staff!
I am a seamstress and paper crafter, not so much a quilter, although I have done that, too. Your video makes me want to quilt. Thanks for sharing.
Can't wait to see what you start to quilt :)
I like to make felt and leather flowers with mine, even earrings. It's amazing all the materials you can use!
Very interesting! Can’t wait for the Double Wedding ring!
Your videos are so informative. Love your passion. Thank you so much

Just bought a $400 cricut....why did I do that? Gonna have to try and sell it and buy a Sizzix!
New subscriber and user of Sizzix Big Shot. Im a little confused about dies. Can the Big Shot use any die? Thanks
Just about any die - using the shims to compensate for the different thicknesses of the different dies.
Where did you buy the Adapterplate G. 6616517 from. TIA
I tried cutting fabric with my big shot machine with the wafer thin dies. It would not cut the fabric, can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Hi will this machine cut vinyl?
Put a piece of shelf liner under your big shot to keep it from sliding
On the Sizzix machine you cut down the big G plastic, what did you use to cut it down? Scissors? Rotary blade?
a rotary blade that is no good now.
Can you use the Gemini build a quilt dies on the Sizzix big shot plus?
I don’t think so but I’m not positive - sorry.
Would a sizzix big shot die fit a sizzix fabri ??? Be greateful for any tips thanks Pat nz
I think so but I'm not positive, sorry.
Can all dies be used in the spellbinder platinum as well
I don't think the large Sizzix dies can but I don't have a spellbinder so I don't really know - sorry.
The multi purpose platform then clear plate then die then clear plate.
Hello I'm trying to purchase more dies can you please tell where to buy. I'm in Australia
Honestly I don't know - I would try Amazon
Yes! Amazon has a fantastic selection of Sizzix dies that's how I buy all of mine :)
What is the Victoria Findley Wolf 9 patch die? Do you have the number?
Sorry, I don't see that she has a 9 patch die. Did you Google it?
@@QuiltingWithNancy I was watching the video and you had a die of hers. Do you know what the die is called?
not related to video but the machine, do you know if it cut faux leather sheets, thinking of getting it
Yes, the Big Shot dies will cut leather - they are very strong.
@@QuiltingWithNancy thank you

Donde comprar ese troquel gracias
En Amazon, o depende del país donde vives, puedes buscar en negocios locales
Is there a dresden plate die for sizzix?
I just did a google search and it says there is :)
Thank you
Isosceles say "eye-soss-uh-lees"
Where do you get the metal plate, not the adapter G
Hi June, check the web - I found some on Scrapbook.com and Connectingthreads.
Dear Nancy
I fell in love with you
A Gemini cutter was shown in the past--which is preferred--the Sizzix or the Gemini?
Hi Marlene, they are booth really good and i use them both.
Please give us the die numbers
