Love watching these kinds of DIY videos and hearing the royal "WE" 😅🤣
Finally!!! An easy way to trim window. I’m definitely doing this
So glad you found it helpful!!
Aww man! I was waiting for the paint part!
I did this in my living room all by myself I really love it and it looks great. I'm going to use this same look throughout the rest of my house. Its so simple and easy.
Sooo nice to hear, thank you😀
Been wanting to do this for a few years. Now that I have these easy plans, I have no reason to continue delaying. Nice video, thanks for sharing :)
That's great, thank you very much!
Thank you so much!!! Something beautiful but simple enough for me to follow ❤️
Thank you🙂
looks awesome.
This is precisely the look I was looking for. Absolutely classic. 🏆 Ever consider a marble sill? Waterproof, luxurious, and so easy to clean. 😎

Nice work. Looks simple
Thank you!
This is simple enough for me to follow, which means, anyone can do.
Thank you!!
Hi Angela, I really find you videos very helpful. I have a questions where did you purchase your window treatment?
I'm glad it's helpful! The blinds are from Lowe's, the Levolor roman shade bamboo blinds.
Wow, that seems really easy. I just might try it. I know you removed your old window sill, would you suggest trying this without removing it? I'm afraid I'll destroy the window...
That's exciting to hear! If your window sill extends far enough for the side trim then you don't need to remove it! If it doesn't, you can still do this, it just might not look as custom.
I would have painted them before install but other than that this is perfect!
Great video. We are completing a similar style window. Did you end up ripping down the 1x2 wood that went around the outside perimeter? Ours seems to extend much further past the casing.
Thank you! I did not have to rip down the 1x2's. I go into a little more detail with photos on my blog post here: angelamariemade.com/diy-window-trim/
Looks like the guy did it.... love that SHE did it....
Ya, no.
Hi i love this trim style and am wanting to install in my house too! I had a question about the window stop trim: Is it structurally necessary? I have seen craftsman style window trims that just had a flat piece underneath the sill ( like the way yours looked before installing the stop). What is the actual purpose of an interior window stop? Is it just extra trim?
Thank you, that is very exciting! The trim piece underneath the sill does provide additional support for the sill itself. We added a decorative trim piece on top of a flat piece but you can definitely just leave the flat piece as is and it will still look good.
I like it a lot and yours is the closest I’ve found for my boring 70s shoebox house. I’m an almost retired carpenter and grew up in an old Victorian town in NW Washington … and I can’t STAND that/those style(s) of trim …mid 1800s . And definitely not a look for a 70s rectangle . But what’s in them almost invariably is just a cheesy 2” wide with a yuck profile , mitered at the corners … ughhh.
So, it’s your window dressing that I think I’m going with. A tad chunky , for a rambler but it’s going to work I think. TY
I think it looks so wonderful. I would LOVE to recreate this whole look. Could you please tell me the paint brand, sheen, and color? I also would love to know what window blinds and wall color you used. I need SO much help!!!
Thank you so much!! The trim color is Simply White by Benjamin Moore in semi gloss. The wall color is Classic Gray by Benjamin Moore in Eggshell and the blinds I got at Lowe's.
looks awesome! what color paint for your walls and for the trim?
Thank you! The walls are Classic Grey by Benjamin Moore in eggshell and the trim is Simply White by Benjamin Moore in Semi-Gloss!
Very nice, what kind of primer did you use to hide the knots?
I use Zinsser Rust-OLEUM 1-2-3 Plus primer! I have a blog post with all of my favorite DIY tools & supplies and it's linked there under primer: angelamariemade.com/favorite-diy-tools-supplies/
Looks good. Why not paint before assembling? Seems it would be easier
Thank you!! Either way would work, whatever you are comfortable with.
Where did you get your curtains? 💙
The blinds are from Lowe's, the Levolor roman shade bamboo blinds.
Did you have to cut anything at a 45” angle?
Nope! We just did straight 90 degree cuts to keep things simple.
Can you give the size of wood you used on both trims?
I have all of the materials listed in the blog post! angelamariemade.com/diy-window-trim/
What kind of wood did you use?
I used common pine!
@@AngelaMarieMade thanks! did it warp at all?
why didnt you do the inside of the window?
We just kept it simple. We caulked the seams where the inside and trim met and painted them both them same color for a cohesive look.
its called a window stool not a window sill
Pro tip... stop wasting time, prime and paint before installing.
it depends on the project for me😄
