    Hate on the Senna all you like (if you do). It’s been designed to crush lap times not look pretty in Monaco, Beverly Hills or Knightsbridge.

    • @amigodesigns
      @amigodesigns 6 лет назад +8

      True, but I wish that McLaren had given it another turn to be a bit more radical, more in the league of the project one and the Valkyrie, but I understand that we are talking about 750k not 2 millions or more.

    • @stubones
      @stubones 6 лет назад +4

      For sure. As fast as the Senna is, I think the Valkyrie and Proj. 1 will far exceed it's performance and be closer to LMP1 (on slicks) than any other road car ever made. The Senna probably has a real world 850+ BHP, but it definitely falls of the other two cars, but as you say it makes sense with the price difference.

    • @allensaunders449
      @allensaunders449 6 лет назад

      stubones easy to say it will crush times so far just speculation. Is it faster then Porsche GT2RS time will tell. Plenty of great track cars look good to

    • @ericwang3481
      @ericwang3481 6 лет назад

      I believe McLaren are making a direct p1 replacement likely close to the range of those vehicles. The Senna and 720s are more real world test mules for their tech which is why they can’t and haven’t made too much of either since they need the money for another project

      I think those people are the ones who dont understand the beauty of the engineering of cars. The people saying the car is ugly would be the same as those who rate a car on its reputation and "drama" or whatever that bullshit is.

    So why no carbon rims?

    • @Jordan_Jetter
      @Jordan_Jetter 5 лет назад +2

      It's an MSO option but they probably didn't put them on the demo/prototype cars due to them being somewhat prone to shattering. A better option would be magnesium wheels as seen on F1 cars and most of the sub 7 minute Nurburgring cars.

    This makes the koenigsegg agera rs so much more astounding. The agera is around 100kg heavier but with a bigger and much more powerfull engine, removeable roof and much more "luxury" features. (+ it's 3 years old now. i bet koenigegg could shave of a lot of the weight if they would do a ultalight barebones version. even the one:1 has leatherseats, heightreluglation a big infotainment system and so on)

    can anybody explain the process in which the brakes are produced ? and why they take 7 months to produce ?

    Do the brakes have a diff material mix compared with other McLaren carbon ceramics? or is the only difference that they are cured much slower?
    Cool video BTW

    • @Zeenithian
      @Zeenithian 6 лет назад +2

      Mile The braking system is the most advanced ever fitted to a McLaren road car. The next-generation carbon ceramic brakes utilise racing technology, and each disc takes seven months to create - seven times longer than a conventional carbon ceramic disc. The Formula 1™ inspired front calipers feature a super-stiff monobloc design and six ventilated pistons to reduce temperatures. A brake booster used on the track-only McLaren P1™ GTR enhances modulation and pedal consistency. The resulting braking performance is phenomenal: 124mph (200km/h) to standstill is achieved in just 100 metres, and less than 30 metres is covered when stopping from 62mph (100km/h).
      Copied and pasted straight from McLaren. Dont know if it really answers your question though.

      I think what he means is, there is practically no chance Mclaren will invite you to test drive the Senna based your limited subscriber numbers (and therefore limited influence/importance). You may well be lucky enough in the future to be invited to drive a customer's car if you know people....

    • @HG504X
      @HG504X 6 лет назад

      With 9000 subs I highly doubt it. McLaren and similar companies look for content creators with a big/substantial following I.e. over 100k subs or something I'm guessing. Maybe a different manufacture will be willing to have test drive their cars if you contact them.

    This car is engineered to be fast and nothing else. That doesn’t take away the fact that the proportion of this car is very unusual and not conventionally pretty. So it is fair to call it a brilliantly engineered ugly car

Ugly back but still a Looker... Or the ugly P1... with it's insect looking ass... I guess, I have to get used to it... ;-)
