Yeah I think we all know Chris's actual view on these is "just buy an actual race car". You could have half a grid of gt3s, Carrera cups or Ferrari challenge cars for the money this will go for
@@MattDiffey As much as I'd love to have a road converted version of a Senna GTR, I do see your point. This is specifically for someone who can book an entire track or have a few other friends who own the same thing who also, most importantly, actually take the cars on track. You get to participate in more number of events n race programs havin a Porsche Cup car or a Ferrari Challenge car or a Lamborghini Super Trofeo car. McLaren _Pure_ events don't happen as often n they don't happen in as many locations as the others do. That aside, we all know that most probably 60 of the 75 cars will never see daylight, let alone a track. It's kinda the same with the Aston Martin Valkyrie Pro n the Lamborghini SCV12 but at least with the SCV12 you can apparently drive them during the Lamborghini Super Trofeo track events though you can't compete in the actual races.
@@Druezy You misunderstood, people buy these sort of multi million dollar cars as investments, not on a whim, because Chris talked it up. Hence why I said they'd be talking to their asset manager about it.
@@room007YOU misunderstand. NOT everyone who buys this car HAS an Asset Manager. Some people spend their money on whatever they want but don't ask for advice. Some people buy items on a whim. "Everyone" lmfao
@room007 You're wrong. Not every single one of these is bought just as an investment. There are plenty better assets than a car, any manager that you're talking to would tell you that. People who buy cars like this are fans of cars. You're too attached to the idea that once you become rich, everything is about money and making more of it. Take care!
While I understand these videos wouldn't exist without the car selling platform, I can't help but feel like objectivity has to be sacrificed because it's in their best interest to put the cars they are selling in the best light. Not complaining though, as if I will ever drive one.
A very fair and observant thing to catch. Most people don't catch the "Conflict of interest" in videos, media, just in general... However, as somebody who's been watching Chris Harris for at least a 6yrs or more(maybe +10yrs) before he joined Top Gear, when he was just a "regular" YT car blogger, (admitting my own conflict of interest that I'm a big fan) the guys is a very open, honest guy, and he will openly admit this conflict of interest, but he's still not shy to point out negatives. With experience in watching many videos, one will see this as well. There is conflict of interest, but he's not trying to pull a fast one on anybody.
Using their official YT channel to advertise the sale of an extremely rare and high profile car is perfectly fine by me as I get to see one of my favorite people and a car which I'll likely never see in person let alone drive and that brings a smile to my face. I'd love for these videos to be longer but since he had such limited time with the car, the length of the video is understandable.
I counted only three eye blinks by Chris while on track at the wheel of this serous track tool. Serious track cars require serious no blinking levels of concentration.
👌👏👏...Great video, Chris, and is well edited and filmed!!!!.. good to see you are still testing the cars!!👍... awesome car , I have just started my bid for it!!!!..😅🤣🤣😂💰💰💰🤣🤣
Buying a McLaren track car is an act of pure passion. There is no logic only want. As for the drive Chris was just cruising more or less around the track and not pushing it because of the poor tires and possibly because of well the sheer value of the car I suspect. Regardless McLaren did create an amazing car available to an exclusive clientele.........................the rich.
Hey Cris if you read these why don’t you film some more car races loved watching you and your explanations of the inner workings even just small local ones
Horse Power isn't everything, 825HP is still insane but where this car really dominates is it's aero and handling (don't forget insane acceleration). So nimble around a track, corners like a beast.
Genuine (albeit cheeky) question: how did you get the voiceover sounding so crap around 0:29? I'm weirdly impressed. Otherwise, as ever, great stuff. Could have happily watched a half-hour version.
3:17 - "Wild ride" hahah, brilliant as always Chris. I'm curious what Mclaren do differently in terms of brake pedal feel. Looks like they do something different in F1 - looks like there's a lot of brake pedal travel.
I remember chris compared the regular Senna with he's own gt3 mclaren a couple of years ago and said the Senna was really disapointing. Im curious to hear what he had to say about the gtr in compare.
Chris, we've got a car coming in that we need to sell... Can you go out test it on track and tell everyone it's the best thing youve driven?? This is essentially how collecting cars videos work.
It's another garage queen, purchased as an investment and not as something to be used. This was probably the first time that car has seen a track and gone above 30mph.
Personally not the prettiest car ever, definitely a function over form example here but McLaren is one of the best at engineering a track special and get the most out of it. I'd love to see a notable F1 driver flog this around and get their opinion on it, to see if it leaves them impressed. This has more power than current GT1 and GT3 spec cars and the chassis while not the same, it isn't extremely far off either.
The one thing I never really understood with this videos is… why is the camera pointing at Chris most of the time instead of out of the car..?! I want to see it >drive
Agree, but i guess with cars like this, you are getting closer to how a bike rider feels, looks, reacts to the machine beneath him. I think what Chris is trying to show is how much some cars force the driver to interact with the car when pressing on. Bit like a motorcycle rider.
I love the active window scoop that closes under braking and opens under acceleration. Such an engineering marvel.
You’ve won the comment section. Take a bow 😂
35 degrees but Chris is wearing a sweat shirt. The man is part lizard 😂
At least he took off his sheepskin jacket.
Australian track day rules. Covered arms and legs.

They specced that car well. So simple, yet so effective.
Simple ?????? Look at it, it’s like Batman spec’d a white one for the day time .
Perfect timing for this to come up for sale, I've just recently sold my Ford Fiesta mk4 zetec.
You could have straight swapped it mate.
Honestly the owners who give these cars for Chris to drive and break them down for us peoples who could never buy them are super generous. Thank you!
generous est un peu exagéré..... indeed
Anything Chris Harris on track is incredible
I love his little excited walk 🤣🤣🤣
There’s only two people that drive cars that I like. Chris is one and Tiff is the other. 👍👍👍

Right, cause I'm really concerned about getting an accurate assesment of the gillion dollar hypercar only a handfull of people will ever get to drive.
Great imagery and all the right noises from Chris. If I could, I would.
These short Chris Harris takes are an injustice of a tease.
Best adverts out there
the window opening and closing makes me happy for some reason
This is classic Harris on cars or the drive, perfection, more videos of the old please.
The ultimate video I needed, what a dreamcar
First time I've seen Chris with eyes on stalks 😂 Must be a hell of a machine 🎉
Thank you, simply thank you.
That window panel that keeps moving around bothers me. But I can't afford the car anyway so not my problem.
Always love your commentary Chris. I really hope to see you in a T.50 and T.50s.
Deserves a longer video
Superb car! Just need to get a lottery ticket now!

What could be the third alongside the Valkyrie and the senna GTR?...just a beautiful short of one of the greatest products from McLaren!
We've watched Chris Harris turn into Clarkson saying "What a machine!" and "What a thing!"

The only problem with this video is that it’s too short

Kylo Ren: "MORE!"

Okay, I'm sold!
how much will you take for my Alfa 159 in trade-in Chris ?
Big question remains, can it beat the Yaris?
Haha 3:20 did he say “fck me!”?
