Proving people wrong without even telling them off is a great motivator. Once you have achieved success you realize you don’t even think about those losers anymore, they are just in the rear view mirror.
Somebody closest to me told me that my candle business was “A stupid idea, and will never work” and that has stuck with me and guides part of my revenge and hard work and I love it. I am slowly growing and making those words more meaningless by the day.
I remember Bezos saying something about not focusing on the competition and instead focusing on the customer. Who cares what other people are doing? What are YOU doing?
Amazon definitely focusses on competition, they wanted to acquire a diaper company (diapers.com I think). They didn't want to be bought, so Amazon started selling diapers much cheaper, giving free amazon prime, losing MILLIONS themselves just so diapers.com wouldn't sell anything, for so long until they had to be acquired. If that isn't the peak of focussing on competition i don't know anymore 😂
That's a nice motivational thing for him to say but Amazon most definitely thinks about their competition. If you believe they aren't concerned with what wal mart or target or overstock is doing you're an idiot
You’re mistaking the context. He referenced focusing on the customer when innovating the company and design to grow yourself... not about business in general for maximizing returns for shareholders (the primary objective of companies). You focus on customers for innovation and growth, but you absolutely simultaneously punch the groups around you and swallow market share per product to gain the funds to do said innovation
What motivates me the most is beating yesterday. How can I get even faster, stronger, better? I also surround myself with great people who in aggregate have the things I want to become. ie Training w/ others who are faster than me. Working with others who are smarter than I am. I know that I'm setting myself up for success when I'm the dumbest person in the room 🤓💪
when peeps say I can't 'do' or 'be' someone, I immediately think...'well you don't have a forum w/ me to begin with...AND I don't have any room in my day/head/vibe to continue w/ such a conversation. I pay them no mind - opportunities abound that no one else is jumping on...for whatever reason...which leave a whole lot of things wide open for MOI to step up, professionally. Mr. Serhant...you are awesome! Thanks for sharing your insight and energy...
I was going through breakup... I needed motivation.. I got it from your vedios.. One thing i love about your routine is u sleep less and work more... Thats what brought u here so fast and thats wht is common in all successful people they wakeup with motivation... God bless man... Long way to go... i am lawyer going to big a big one soon cya then brother

To some extent, competition is a good thing as long as one does not forget the main purpose of why they do what they do. I find that when you're very competitive, you get good at the thing you're competing with people on. But it comes at the expense of losing out on many other things, if you're a competitive chess player, you might get very good at chess but neglect to develop other things because you're focused on beating your competitors, rather than on doing something that's important or valuable. Ryan, your definition of revenge is spot-on, very profound.
You are so right Ryan, I believe the best you can do each and every single day Is keep going forward Not matter what stands in your way make a way. The power of Revenge works for me always.. Cheers man Happy Holidays to you and all your family!
Brother, what you said about revenge and success is so accurate. Thank you for taking the time to give advice and guidance. Looking forward to getting into the real estate game.
Ryan the realist ! I didn't pay much attention in the past to vlog's like this but Ryan shows a genuine personality that I listen to, like hes a guy I could catch up with over a coffee or beer and shoot the breeze. Good work Ryan your the man!
The anger keep me moving forward, thinking people who talk behind my back is where they belong to, alway behind everyone back and cannot move up! I agree revenge make me stronger and motivate me alot on what im doing
What motivates me everyday is what I don’t have and knowing where I was before. Where I am now is a serious struggle which it’s said that when your close to getting something or somewhere it really gets hard. I wake up everyday with the thought of becoming a Realtor and doing what you Ryan do some day myself. I’ve been from being homeless to having everything then all of it taken away from me in one day. Now looking back and learning from everything that happened I can say I am winning and I will feel success and I won’t ever ever feel this pain of not making enough to pay bills no matter if I work 7 days a week 15 hour days I still don’t make enough. So I’m motivated by my past staying there and watching me win the future me and future life and continue to the top of that mountain Ryan speaks of all the time. I want what’s mine and I’m going to take it. No one wants to live in poverty, no one wants to live with the feeling of anxiety and depression like I have in the past being blamed by my ex wife that I killed our unborn child and took everything I had then left 3 days before Christmas to live on the streets for 5 months. I got out and I’m staying out and only way to the top is beating the old me everyday no matter what happens. Happy thanksgiving all and god bless
A lot of what Ryan says can be complimented through something I found at a similar time as getting into this channel. Look up the Made You Think podcast and watch the very first episode. That episode about Antifragility correlates with so much Ryan talks about, it is unfunny. It is 2 hours long but it is so worth it I've literally listened three times and in between watched Ryan and it all makes so much fucking sense now.
I always watching your vlog before I sleep. It is my passion to work with you Ryan and 100% sure about it because its my dream. Thank you brother to teach me day by day🙏
Competition make you SHARP!!! Explaining why other FA are selling instead of planning around their need is what I LOVE!!!!!!! And negative LEDGER force you to work HARDER!!
Hey Ryan, I,m a huge fan and I just wanted you to know that what you're doing with this VLOG is fantastic. Truthfully I am on my way to getting my real estate license in Florida, and I can't to begin! Thank you for sharing what you do, it helps immensely!
Thank you for the great advice, it opened my eyes to use revenge to push you forward and show people you can be even more successful instead of it holding you back. Big fan of yours ❤️👍
Your idea of revenge I completely agree with. I think of it myself as “proving them wrong.” It’s been the story of my life and perhaps my biggest motivator. When I was in middle school I made the decision to be a Naval Officer. In high school I didn’t get into the Naval Academy so I went to a smaller military college in Kings Point, NY. While there, they never gave me a leadership role - not even captain of a sports team. But after I graduated I fulfilled my dream of becoming a Naval Officer. I led a division and was ranked the #1 division officer 3 times on my ship. After the Navy I worked at Facebook before moving into a B2B sales role - people thought I was crazy for leaving Facebook - but I left the job because I knew I wanted to work in sales. Within two years I was the top seller on the West Coast sales team and within 2.5 years was given the opportunity to lead a team of 8 B2B sales reps. My goal is to become the head of world wide sales at a large company and to prove to everyone who said I couldn’t lead, that I wouldn’t make it, that I could. That’s my motivation. It’s been serving me well and it makes me want to go out there and kick ass on a daily basis. Always improve and believe that you can prove them wrong. Ready set go!
I think your thoughts about what drives you is great introspection. I’m also really into introspection... and I’m starting to see that a lot of what drives us has to do with hurts and losses we felt as children. Feeling robbed from receiving what we instinctively know to desire. But ultimately these longings of purpose, acceptance, and belonging are designed to be fulfilled by God - who loves you as you are. You are great at what you do, but I just want you to know that Jesus is so proud of you and He loves and accepts you as you are, no matter what you look like or how disciplined you are, or how many sales you make. Just as you are. I hope you might know that. 🤗 I enjoy your vlogs~
Hi Ryan. You should pay a bonus for the one who finds the music your vlogs xD. Your channel is the only one which i really enjoy the music. That's so great. And thank you for so many good mindset videos.
when you just started these vlogs it motivated me to get into real estate (serious, i commented on some of your 1st videos saying i want to get into it), i have 2 classes left before i take my exam, i study about 8 -10 hours a day. doesn't sound like much but i have a family and a small company to run. i just found out that our top rookie of the year in NC only made 150k. Would love to move to a bigger city like NYC and sell listings that cost above 1 million. keep up the videos, maybe i can hire you one day as a mentor/coach.
Make a very clear list of your life goals. Think about how you can accomplish those goals. And not New Years resolution crap - actual life goals (family, kids, house, car, retirement) - make a list, figure out how to accomplish the goals, then do it. Nothing motivated me more than doing that.

Competition only gives me a spark but it quickly dies. I need to find some other motivators.
Either find what drives you OR learn to compete with yourself. Everyday should be a competition to be yourself from yesterday.
Use a routine
