Crash as in, intensive tasks like encoding and rendering videos can really put your system to a halt if the CPU and GPU could not handle the stress within a limited amount of time AKA system crash (as in, your computer suddenly shuts down). The term is normal for us who use and live around computers and using computer programs on a daily basis. Great review. I personally have been enjoying the heck out of my 2019 Stealth I have the mid-tier model as well. It's absolutely perfect for 1080p Video Rendering, taking on longer business trips. The MX150 provides the perfect amount of power to play my normal games I prefer to play Such as league of Legends and Counter-Strike at High Framerates at max settings. There really is nothing else like it on the market. Trust me I looked high and low. Not to mention the great design I can take into a meeting and such and look just as professional as the guy beside me with a MacBook Pro. The 2019 Stealth gets a big thumbs up from me.
@Annie no issues so far have really enjoyed it plays Leauge on high and I cap the fps at 60 and it runs beautiful. Not sure when it's not charging. When I'm playing games I'm always plugged in but I'm sure if you run in high performance mode while on battery alone you should see no difference.

I really think Razer has been missing the mark with each new update of the stealth (except for the reduced bezels and quad core CPUs). The stealth was supposed to be about portability, low price (1k back in the day), all day battery life, and utilization of the core to game at home. A new stealth, core, and base 1060 would cost you almost $2,200 bucks at base spec and almost $3,000 with the upgraded spec.
there is already a ton of another laptops with tb3 4 lanes that are better than the old gen blade. take xps, take x1 carbon, take hp spectre(also its 2 in 1 so there is that).
it is true that they are more expensive but it really shows with the build quality , at the end of the day razer is not what you get if you want the best bang for buck, but they are good products the trackpad and quality of materials is worth those extra bucks, I am yet to find a better track pad on a windows laptop.
The 4K option isn't "pointless", a lot of people can make use of the higher resolution and the better color accuracy it usually comes with. You trade in some battery life, but the hardware can definitely handle a ton of tasks at 4K and it will be a better option for some people.

Hey awesome video. Stylish scenes and super nice atmosphere like always :) I'm gonna buy the new Razer Blade Stealth 2019 instead of the Razer Blade 15 for a few reasons: 1. I"m buying a new laptop because I need one for University and using it in class means I won't always have much desk space and I'll need to carry it around all the time. 2. I already have a gaming tower PC so it doesn't make much sense to own two gaming machines. My main game is Overwatch and the Razer Blade Stealth is actually capable of playing it with the MX150. So if I go on a vacation or visit friends and family I can still play. 4. I would like to start editing photos and videos again. So an i7, 16gb Ram are a must have for me. How is this laptop holding up now after 6 months? I've been reading a lot of issues from some forums regarding charger failing and coil whine with RBS. I'm planning to buy one but these issues scare me. TIA for your answer.
Personally I've just returned my second '19 Stealth - this time for a refund. As a first time Razer customer I have to say this thing and the company are an absolute fucking joke. No care or attention is paid to quality control, it may look nice (looks very nice) and feel good in the hands (it does) but it's when you turn the power on and try to use it as a computer that the trouble starts. First unit - chips in the paint, shit you'd expect from some bargain basement brand. The second one: static crackling through the speakers, excessive noise from the SSD and left fan sounds like it's hitting something. I'm not trying to shit on Razer - I just want to warn those of you thinking about buying this thing. If you get a 'good one' - congrats. Just be mindful that the flipside is wasting days (near weeks) with customer support that is both incompetent and couldn't give one iota of a shit about you. Cherry-picked review samples are great - just don't expect Razer to make that effort for you, you'll just have to roll the dice.
i can completely agree with you and everyone saying bad stuff about the Customer Service and Returning Policy, but if you actually compare a laptop like the MSI Creator (which i first bought on the 16th of October and returned) and then got my Gigabyte Aero 15x (still using to this day) - the quality of both is probably not even close to the one i am experiencing with the Razer Blade 15; the Gigabyte on the other hand might be so much powerful, but the damn bloatware and not reliable software bugs from it, causing it to crash sometimes, cannot run BIOS settings properly with two SSDs nVME and M2.SATA is kind of, not to say, pure shit; to this day, i had only one problem with buzzing from the speakers, which i found to be a software issue with the realtek drivers, not a hardware one; will keep updated here, if someone is interested in buying the razer blade stealth 2019, but is still concerned about doing so;

@@patrickmonkman8151 get you, man, fully agree with your opinion - got a few mates in university using the whatsoever asus zenbook with the 512GB SSD and they say it's fine, but it does depend what you really want to do with it, too; for instance, i only use mine for coding, simple browsing and VMware, but nothing else and it has been fine for these months (hope it will be fine for another 1-2 years too), but you never know; good luck, if getting one of these over here and keep us updated though, i usually try to share opinion of my purchased items and review them in the most honest and sincere way so people get to know, if it is worth or not; but, currently with my razer stealth 2019, i also had a lot, really all, of mixed feelings about it and when i actually did spend this much money on it, it really isn't that bad, in my opinion; again, this is only my current experience and only mine, i cannot say stuff for others' tech, too; take care and be careful with what you purchase, always think for the worst first, so you don't get a bitch kick in the back;
Just bought a HP envy with an i5 8265u, 4c/8t, 8gb & MX 150 GPU. It's great for what I'm using it for which is mostly office, stata & browsing/emails. It fits nicely in a backpack, folder or my gymbag. It does fine with some light gaming, keeping it close to that 60 FPS in most games with settings on low/medium. Pretty much in the same vein as the Stealth, just with a bit less RAM/a downgraded CPU. Overall thin and lights such as these machines are great if you're on the move. The overall quality on these types of machines are very slick. Nice tactile keyboards, good trackpads, a great looking screen and nice I/O (except for the lack of thunderbolt 3, which would be nice...). Not sure why companies keep trying to push 4k options for these types of machines though, you're on a 13 inch, FHD 1080p is plenty PPI! What I will say is that if you're looking for a main drive to be a laptop: Go for a 15 inch & make sure it has 144hz display if you're looking to do any gaming. They might be a little bit larger & thicker, but the added functionality and specs is from another world. The thin and lights are great if you're mostly doing light editing, office work or some light programming. If you're looking for a good allround laptop that you will spend all your time on ( IE not having a desktop at home for gaming or heavier workloads) get a 15 inch with a 1070MQ & a 144hz display!
So I bought a blade stealth with the mx 150, but returned it after 15 days. There was an absolutely annoying speaker static issue that is a well know issue with these models. Additionally, there appeared to be an audio driver issue that did not resolve after doing a factory reset (several times). There are also no drivers on razer's website for this computer either. Finally, under heavy gaming load, the 65 watt charger did not provide enough power to charge the blade. It would discharge its battery while plugged in. Now I was pushing this thing hard, running total war warhammer 2, but I bumped down the resolution to 720P, all settings on low. I was able to get 30-40fps, but the audio driver issue caused so many audio glitches. I needed a laptop that is as small as possible for frequent travel that can game. If it wasnt for static coming from the speaker and the audio glitches, I would have kept it, but QC is a major issue here.
Great video. Id love to know performance metrics with an eGPU and how well this ultrabook melds in with that. A best ‘good portable laptop and home eGPU setup device’ would be awesome!
I have always liked Razer computers. This is just another of those great machines that we could pick up and use for a couple years. Hopefully, they are keeping their build quality up. (: Unlike, a certain un-named company. LOL
if you compare to the others laptop with this size i don't think so you can get the same specs exemple macbook pro 13 it cost more than 2k not and yet you don't get 16g ram and dedicated graphics card
@@mysteriousvlogss5704 You picked the worst example. The Huawei Matebook 13 boasts an i7 8550u & MX150 for $1175 on Amazon. The HP Envy boasts the same specs - currently $849 for last year's model & $1049 for this year's (out next month.) The Asus Zenbook with an 8250u, $1049 on Amazon. There was the Xaomi Mi Air but whether it's getting an update this year isn't clear. If it does & keeps the same price, it's $999. The Stealth is at LEAST $425 more expensive & in some cases nearly double the price. Do better research man.
How to made a product placement ft. HardwareCanucks ? Step # 1: Put it in front of you but never talk about it. Step # 2: Unpack it and put it on top of the box. Step # 3: Make hand movements in front of it. Congratulations. You have managed to get our attention (Phanteks P600s).
Name another 13 inch laptop with the same or better build quality and same specs. The closest thing is the xps and for the same price you get the same minus the mx150
No touchscreen on a 1080p screen and no 4K screen without touch. As if it weren't expensive enough you can't get a feature you want without having one you don't. Colour accuracy is a good feature to have but not everyone would want to spend extra money for it. This and the less than average reliability track record makes it very hard for me to recommend for the price. Good for someone that does photo editing everyday I guess but that does bring back the annoyance of the missing SD-card slot.
Razer is doing a discount on the exact model you have in Canada for around 1250USD (including tax). I've been using the MacBook Pro (Mid 2014) for music production for quite a while, therefore I was thinking of upgrading it to either dell xps 9570, macbook pro 2019, new mac mini, razer blade stealth (2019) or wait for the new razer blade steal to come out (the late 2019 version). However, for the price drop on the Stealth (2019), it is so attractive... would you suggest me to go for it or wait for the new stealth to come out?
Dude, pleace do a review on the matebook x pro top model. Its 4K, 100%rgb colour accuracy and extremely stunning with the same specs, just more ssd storage. Its my top notebook ever. 10hours+.
You can easily play at 720p resolution without noticing significant difference (except gui size) on the screen of this size. Even better of game as resolution scale. MX150 version would be worth something if it was in the $1000-1200 range and base version at $800-1000 range. You can get HP Spectre x360 13 inch version with i7 8550U and 16GB of ram/256GB ssd for $1k, or even less if you go for i5.
Base model has 8gb of ram vs 16gb + mx150 for 200$ more. More ram worth it if your not really into gaming but want a good, long lasting, futur proof laptop?
Practice. Even if you somehow had Eber and Dimitri in your recording studio helping you film every shot, you'd still need to actually do it yourself to get a feel for HOW to compose great scenes. That's not something than can be taught - it's learned through trial and error.... mostly error. In fact, if you go back to the earliest stuff HC was doing, it's almost cringey by their current standards. Good Luck.
A) take your time. B) collaborations with others is KEY to becoming more discoverable. C) think outside the box. Find a niche that hasn't been well covered.
Razer Blade 13 w/4K ($2640) or Dell XPS 13 w/4K i7 16GB ($1899; no tax)? Going into University Computer Science 1st year. Want it to run smoothly for 4-5 years, 4K seems important to me as I want to hook it up to a 4K monitor w/HDMI (like a desktop) for better viewing. Do I need a laptop with a 4K display to watch content on a 4K monitor in 4K? Or can I buy a non-4K display and still run videos in 4K on a 4K monitor? I am very grateful for any response
This is like double the price of other laptops with the same specs e.g. asus vivobook but then again this has better build quality and rgb but still, that price tag is ridiculous
For what it's worth, I'm seeing refurbished FHD/mx150 models going for about $1100. At that price point, this becomes a much, much better deal. Especially compared to a similar Macbook Pro 13.
is that a cmos battery at the start? From my time taking out and in that thing i can tell you the thickness of the laptop down to the mm before u told me.
Can you show the bottom of the laptop please? Or, to change the question, is it possible for a user to change easily RAM or SSD without to take it apart?
seeing as the screen is only 60hz i don't think it matters if the games to too high above 60fps..so i would of bumped games like overwatch up to medium or high on 1080p and had the 130 fps drop down to match the screen at around 60fps and had a better looking game
I read lots of owners of this laptop have a problem when they game while connected to ac power the battery still continues to discharge, did you have this problem too?
That was the model with a 65watt charger, this new one has a 100watt charger Don’t know why razer has such huge issues with making power efficient computers lol I can charge and play my asus Zephrus M over usbc just fine and MacBooks have used usbc charging for years now and are all way less watt chargers but yet Razer gotta give you a 100watt charger just so it doesn’t drain while being used
Icicle Man There’s not much to say actually. It’s just that Apple has its own OS and products, this means that they can have the best experience with their OS with the trackpads because it’s well implemented. Windows on the other hand has to support thousands of devices and every one of them is different, with different drivers.
So basically the specs isn’t worth the price? I know I’m basic AF but I loved the quartz(also a limited edition) but I’m not sure if I should get it...
Ugh. That right shift / arrow key placement. The sole reason why I haven't picked up a Blade 15 yet, nor why I'm likely to get the 20x0 version. Problem is I use multiple keyboards daily, and that right shift is in use constantly during typing. Can I just get it with the 2016 kb? Or a layout similar to the layout that Alienware uses in it's 13r3? Sure, the lines aren't straight, but hey, full size arrow keys AND a shift key all in the same place!
Bought on Amazon for 1200 USD as a travel companion to play Diablo and Torchlight and such. More than adequate, and around the same price as a Huawei mxp.
Base model has 8 gb ram and if you plan to use an egpu to game it would be important to know if that ram is upgradable. in that case the base model would have a fairly improved value. So, ram upgradable or not?
would have copped, but evidently the charger can't keep the thing charged while gaming. also lots of reports of loud coil whine and speaker static, as well as lackluster battery life. went with an xps 9380 instead.
what's up with that description? It says review unit sent by XXXX, this video is sponsored by XXXX. What?? Did you guys forget to fill it in or is it secret?
Can someone help me? My Budget is around 500-700€ and I need a thin and lightweight stylish looking notebook for school. The CPU doesn't need to be anything fancy, it's just for making presentations, watching RUclips and stuff, I habe a gaming pc here at home. It would be very nice to have a good battery life and I want it to have at least a FHD IPS Screen. Size doesn't really matter to me, as long as it fits in my backpack. Something around 13-15'' is fine. I would like to have an SSD, but I could install one by myself so it doesn't need to have one. 128GB of storage is total, enough for me.

get you, man, fully agree with your opinion - got a few mates in university using the whatsoever asus zenbook with the 512GB SSD and they say it's fine, but it does depend what you really want to do with it, too;
for instance, i only use mine for coding, simple browsing and VMware, but nothing else and it has been fine for these months (hope it will be fine for another 1-2 years too), but you never know;
good luck, if getting one of these over here and keep us updated though, i usually try to share opinion of my purchased items and review them in the most honest and sincere way so people get to know, if it is worth or not;
but, currently with my razer stealth 2019, i also had a lot, really all, of mixed feelings about it and when i actually did spend this much money on it, it really isn't that bad, in my opinion;
again, this is only my current experience and only mine, i cannot say stuff for others' tech, too;
take care and be careful with what you purchase, always think for the worst first, so you don't get a bitch kick in the back;
Just bought a HP envy with an i5 8265u, 4c/8t, 8gb & MX 150 GPU.
4K model is not pointless. It's more color accurate and really helps for most creative uses.
Fritz Asuro It doesn’t work like this lol.
4k model is amazing.. I bought it and an very pleased with it.
also re-sell value is going to be higher so take that into account..
A bit late, but I wonder how long yours lasts on battery? :D
How does it compare 6 months later?
for this price you can't even get QUADCORE in macbook pro , 16gigs of ram and also the dedicated graphics card ,this laptop is totally worth it
Only if it Contains more RGB..
Mr. ANGAD lol
Ay an iPhone cost 1500$ so another 100$ won't hurt your wallet.
I spoted a nice low profile keyboard: Cooler Master SK650 at 3:08
When a full review about it? I plan on getting one as soon as it's out
Great video. Id love to know performance metrics with an eGPU and how well this ultrabook melds in with that. A best ‘good portable laptop and home eGPU setup device’ would be awesome!
so stealth they wont need a sticker to cover up the logo in ads
This cost as much as a huwaei matebook pro and that has a underclocked GPU. So idk why people says this is expensive but not huwaei matebook pro.
how do you know it has underclocked gpu?
I have always liked Razer computers. This is just another of those great machines that we could pick up and use for a couple years. Hopefully, they are keeping their build quality up. (:
Unlike, a certain un-named company. LOL
How long ur had urs? I got 2x acer but the one that doesnt take forever do anything is 10 years old, may look to upgrade
My computers are all 2013 or older.
They should develop a voice assistant with your amazing voice, sir
An MX150 - 25W at that - is not only not powerful enough but at $1600 it's downright disrespectful.
if you compare to the others laptop with this size i don't think so you can get the same specs
exemple macbook pro 13 it cost more than 2k not and yet you don't get 16g ram and dedicated graphics card
This is a steal if u need a laptop for school, specifically uni. You'll stand out from every macbook user at uni.
That P600s on a background.. Planning to switch your current case? :) Btw, awesome video as always!
How to made a product placement ft. HardwareCanucks
?
Step # 1: Put it in front of you but never talk about it.
Step # 2: Unpack it and put it on top of the box.
Step # 3: Make hand movements in front of it.
Congratulations. You have managed to get our attention
(Phanteks P600s).
great job, great b-roll. excellent video bro.
there is no way to justify that price tag for those specs
Name another 13 inch laptop with the same or better build quality and same specs. The closest thing is the xps and for the same price you get the same minus the mx150
@@carlosmartinez-jb6fu exactly
carlos martinez how about the MSI prestige 14inch laptop also with the gtx 1650 but includes twice the storage with a 1tb ssd and is only $1399
No touchscreen on a 1080p screen and no 4K screen without touch.
However, for the price drop on the Stealth (2019), it is so attractive... would you suggest me to go for it or wait for the new stealth to come out?
its a great price im from canada and getting one too. soft gaming and music production too
@@pascalrenaud8221 I was gonna grab it but it's out off stock now...
Snow day today so i get to watch Hardwarecanucks!!!
Great review! What's the wallpaper btw?
Also any issues with coil whine or loose usb c connections?
None from my testing
Base model has 8gb of ram vs 16gb + mx150 for 200$ more.
More ram worth it if your not really into gaming but want a good, long lasting, futur proof laptop?
Awesome shots! Loving the videography.
Btw I'm a small tech tuber and I'm working on making my footage look like yours. Any tips guys?
If you search the channel I'm pretty sure they have some videos on their filming methods.
For most of the shots tech RUclipsrs use all you need is a slider, large aperture lens (with a small minimum focus length) and some diffused lights
Find a niche that hasn't been well covered.
people talk about cpu's and gpu's and motherboards may you make a video on pc talk and what we need to know when choosing parts.
This is like double the price of other laptops with the same specs e.g. asus vivobook but then again this has better build quality and rgb but still, that price tag is ridiculous
omgosh you showed the nvidia control panel, plz tell me does it have the vsync option, or the fast sync option? thx so much and great vid btw :)
How good is the trackpad in refenrence to a new macbook? Or how is the feeling in comparison. Thank you
I like the arrow keys like that. The little half-keys a lot of laptops have are annoying to me.
Same here, dunno why he's not.
Why didn't you address the touch option? 4K might be pointless, but touch could be fantastic. Too bad it's only available on that one though.
For what it's worth, I'm seeing refurbished FHD/mx150 models going for about $1100. At that price point, this becomes a much, much better deal. Especially compared to a similar Macbook Pro 13.
Poetic Voyage new ones now are 1100 for the 16gb version, seems like a great deal
in the thumbnail theres the new corsair haroon rgb
i dont know why im doing this
is that a cmos battery at the start? From my time taking out and in that thing i can tell you the thickness of the laptop down to the mm before u told me.
i have the gigabyte aero 15x that i use for school and davinchi resolve 15 and its awesome
Soooo, the box on the background, looks different from Vega 56/64 original launch box. Same teasing as with RTX Titan ?)
Can you show the bottom of the laptop please?
Or, to change the question, is it possible for a user to change easily RAM or SSD without to take it apart?
Ram is soldered on. SSD is replaceable
You’d never need more ram than the 16gb on such a laptop, it’s not exactly a powerhouse computer with demanding needs lol
the right shift instantly killed it for me
seeing as the screen is only 60hz i don't think it matters if the games to too high above 60fps..so i would of bumped games like overwatch up to medium or high on 1080p and had the 130 fps drop down to match the screen at around 60fps and had a better looking game
I read lots of owners of this laptop have a problem when they game while connected to ac power the battery still continues to discharge, did you have this problem too?
That was the model with a 65watt charger, this new one has a 100watt charger
Don’t know why razer has such huge issues with making power efficient computers lol
I can charge and play my asus Zephrus M over usbc just fine and MacBooks have used usbc charging for years now and are all way less watt chargers but yet Razer gotta give you a 100watt charger just so it doesn’t drain while being used
I know he said that computer had trouble editing, but this is the first person to mention it
Has anyone else had this problem?
Is AMD pulling the same stunt like NVIDIA? What's up with AMD box in the background or are you guys trolling us?
How does the trackpad compare to the MacBook Pro?
Adam Messmann It simply doesn’t.
No Windows laptop trackpad is useful what so ever.
Apple has the lead in this regard
@@ilpatongi explain?
Icicle Man There’s not much to say actually.
It’s just that Apple has its own OS and products, this means that they can have the best experience with their OS with the trackpads because it’s well implemented.
Windows on the other hand has to support thousands of devices and every one of them is different, with different drivers.
Debating if I should buy this or the asus zenbook 14inch.. Heard the stealth heats up quite a bit especially in the middle of the kb area.
Dude you know how hard it is to get that laptop now with this covid shit even without the laptop still get sold out😤
So basically the specs isn’t worth the price?

Can it cool a GTX 1050 on that chassis? Would that be a better choice ?
only $1600 for a laptop like that? here in Finland that would cost like $2500 lol :D

Base model has 8 gb ram and if you plan to use an egpu to game it would be important to know if that ram is upgradable. in that case the base model would have a fairly improved value.
So, ram upgradable or not?
Unfortunately the RAM is not upgrable on the Stealth but Storage is

Ok now 3:06 Cooler Master didn't release SK650 yet how did u get it?
This is a review channel they probably sent it to them to review.
would have copped, but evidently the charger can't keep the thing charged while gaming. also lots of reports of loud coil whine and speaker static, as well as lackluster battery life. went with an xps 9380 instead.
A 1050 is worth it, it would help performance and wouldn't change the price that much
what's up with that description? It says review unit sent by XXXX, this video is sponsored by XXXX. What?? Did you guys forget to fill it in or is it secret?

I thought this was Dave2D for the first 17 seconds because of the thumbnail
I wish this have touch screen. I always use them during media consumption, but only track pad during development work.
the 4k has touch screen but... yeah way to overkill for a 13' xD
Well, fuck, i just bought the 4k version.
