i am old school 69yo. i approve of everything you are doing to these old cars. back in the day we couldn't get parts like today. we went to the junk yards to find the best parts we could get. if you lived in the rustbelt like me . the parts were just as bad as what we started with. thumbs up for DD Speedshop
Dan's the man !!! Been watchin older videos where you only had 20,000 subs (the 27 T the 57 give away etc.) Dang your one hard working skilled mofo !!! Mucho respect !!! Does watchin ads in older videos help pay for the NewmaDD ??? Askin for a friend !!!😅😂
I'm just past started on replacing my full floor plan on my '56 210 HT, and my favorite part of this video was you taking the time to explain how all the panels fit together, even though I'm not doing it that way. It helped me better understand how the floor is engineered & fastened to the frame - much appreciated!
Hey Dani, as you know I’ve been subscribed for about 3 years.. today watching on tv with my fire stick when I went to go to thumbs up I wasn’t subscribed!!!! WTF?? I found it weird you still only have 145k subscribers.. that’s why I checked. Tell everyone to check their status!! Dats all… huggs!!
Dan, I don't know how you do it with a day job, then come home , and do it for hours then turn around and do it all again. My hats off to you sir! Plus, I'm loving the extended vids! The car looks fantastic!
Dam brother you do some awsome stuff! Your a REAL and TRUE wrench! Keep them wrenches flying and keep them cars from dying!!! Your alway welcome at my fire side brother!
Great journey, Dan! 55 is sure a sharp looking Chevy....... In 1966 I had a 56 Ford Sunliner convertible that had a rotted back floor. When it was taken in for its six month sticker, it was rejected. The mechanic told me I had two things going against me, I was a teenager, and I had a car! A friend and I jury rigged a corrugated piece of steel, formed a hump for the drive shaft using a telephone pole. When taken back for reinspection, the mechanic actually jumped on the floor to check it.
Dan, Thanks for showing us how it is done. I had a '57 ragtop back in 1977 that needed a full floor replacement. I found a 150 2 door sedan on its' side and salvaged the entire floor for that project. Never got time to put it together as had to sell it to move to a new job. Strange that the gents who bought the car didn't want the use the salvaged floorboard, so it got tossed out. I especially enjoyed seeing the underside as you carefully explained the good, the bad, and the ugliness of fitting all those panels and underfloor stiffeners together. Beautifull looking Nomad in a very cool color. Keep up the great work. Jim
The attachment to this car has definitely begun Dan. A couple more cut and burns should do the trick for you.. Be careful and stay safe my friends God love ❤ya both
My first rust repair was a 64-65 Chev PU entry steps that were rotted away. The old man got me a piece of flat steel and I bent and cut and bolted in a new step. I think I was about 12 then. I was pretty proud of it!! Haha.
Killer job Dan! Sure looks a hell of a lot better than it did. Every time you shut the doors, it is amazing that it still has that new car sound! PEACE ✌️
You Sir are the Tri-5 Master!! I would think at this point you could give up your day job! But you probably need to hang on to it for peace of mind!! Great Job!! Another Great Video!!❤❤
This shortcut from doing a full floor (as you explained) is what I would have chosen as well. Great job Dan, you're giving this Nomad the respect it deserves!
I did my 57 Ford Retractable in hand made pieces, but I did find full rockers and did patch the inners. I did it all with oxyacetylene welding, So I can appreciate the effort and with mig welding it would have made life much easier and better if I had one then.
I don't know if you've seen this product before, but I've seen other shops use a wax substance to coat the inner areas of boxed in frames and whatnot, It's from 3M and it's called Cavity Wax Plus. That repair on the drivers side looks really really good!
There were 2 things on fire in this video. The nomad, and the banjo players fingers from that first time lapse! Awesome work as usual man, car looks great!
Dan... you need a few shop posters to keep track of things... Number of Tri-5 Chevy's saved ____ # of doors removed forever _____ # of radiator caps lost ____ # of car batteries borrowed _____ ( Of course, this is just a starter list* and a friendly joke) Thank you for all the entertaining videos, Dani & Dan) You two are the best ✌️🙂 * The real list would be many pages long... yes, another attempt at a joke 😮 Well, enough of me yapping, i'm gonna watch Dan the super body work, car door remover, car floor installer, and all-around garage super man.
Ordered my shirt, bro! Never mind that wannabe Canadian guy from North Dakota, Dan. 😆 He has minions, and you rock your shit harder with a day job just like him. Keep on keepin it real buddy!
Thanks so much for taking the extra time and effort to video your work. I feel like I’ve been a part of your builds even though I’m laying in bed watching you work. Lol
When I do floors now, I started painting inside of the braces and rockers. I also drill 3/16-1/4" drains on all it. Where the brace holds sand and rots the floor/brace I use a small hole saw so it has room to dump the garbage out. It seems to work pretty well. Not criticism, just sharing what works for me. I love this Nomad btw. Awesome car
Dan love the direction your taking this build using parts you have and keeping the car more or less intake everything your doing is improving the car great work
Barry Gilgen don't care what Mortske says I think Dan is getting better with floor work cause this Nomad floor I don't see anything wrong with what he is doing. nice job Dan your learning practice makes perfect
Such a cool car Dan!! U definitely scored on this one! Can't wait to see it out cruisin all shined up!! Just ordered my shirt! Been wanting that design ever since I saw u guys first wearing it. Thank's for making it available to us online spectators! Rock on 🤘!!!
Dan the floor pan man it's coming out great. you do a great job of explaining as you go.it looks awesome. I love what you said about the point system i almost spit my beer out. another awesome video.
I think it's great to only replace what needs replacing , it can always get a new complete floor in the future when it needs it. Keep up the hard work. On YT you make it look easy but we know it isn't.
Dan, On your front pan that braces the A pilller lower kick panel, you said were on Nomads, were on all 55s and 56-57 convertibles. The California frames were not on all Nomads because my Nomad has a C channel frame; however, I have a 210 wagon that I'm converting to a nomad has a California (box) frame. Nice job on piecing together the floor and braces. You're right about those parts. They add up fast, not including your time, wire, and gas in welding.
Great job!! I remember you saying when you got this Nomad you we’re going to take your time and do it right and you are now a man of your word .. this truly is the best work anyone could do .. lots to be proud of with this car 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Dan man you did a great job on that I've been doing it all my life I'm 66 I couldn't do it that anymore but you did a great job you would be on my team
That car is so freaking cool my dad had that exact same car in His late 20s early 30s. He had pictures of it from a trip he took in it from Detroit Michigan to Orlando Florida. His story’s of going on road trips in his Nomad would always spark my imagination as a little boy. Even to this very day I still want a nomad to go and a few road trips with my son. And rough it out of the back of the nomad. Such a cool cool station wagon!!!!
Dan, excellent job on the Chevy belair floor panels. You got this, buddy. Keep up the good work and stay focused and motivated. Your internet community ❤ you.
That is good quality work Dan, quit calling yourself a hack. Why don't you ever paint your fresh metal with something like POR 15? That's a lot of labor to just have it get rusty again.
Nice job Dan keep up with the good work you will have a wonderful car at the end of all your work. It will be something to be proud of I can see you both dressed up and cruising around in style definitely a power tour car 😊
Before pulling the body off the chassis and cutting the entire floor out of my 1940 DeSoto, I welded in temporary beams - one crossways to the B-pillars (its a 4 door) and one each across the door openings from pillar to pillar and to the cross beam. The body has stayed straight, the glass is all intact and the doors still close and latch. I also ended up welding lifting brackets to the temp beams across the rear door. opening

That still happens just different cars pretty much all of my projects are cobbled together with junkyard stuff just a different era vehicle
I absolutely love this comment. People forget ŵe worked with what we had.
Looks great Dan! Great job. Not near as bad of a hack as mortske says. Good for you
I still want a Hot Rod Jesus T shirt!
Dd fab shop gettin after it!!
My knees and my back hurt just watching you Dan.
More power to you man.
Yeah. It ain't easy work haha

Awesome man!
"High teens"? Don't be so hard on yourself, it's at least in the mid twenties.
Talk to Puddin (not as crabby as Mortske) he's been doing his merch inhouse, and it seems to be working well
Great Job !
A floor repair you can be proud of. Way to go!
I'm just past started on replacing my full floor plan on my '56 210 HT, and my favorite part of this video was you taking the time to explain how all the panels fit together, even though I'm not doing it that way. This car has so much potential. Please don't Chad the repairs.
@chrisallen2005. Maybe a motorcycle hauler just cut a big slot in the roof since you mentioned Chad😂
Chad would fuck if right up, like everything he touches essentially.
Got really tired of watching Chad never finishing 95% of the stuff he does he had a vidio about the cars he finished they are mostly from the TV show
Chads a greedy punk! You can tell by his lack of safety practice’s.
welding requires removing everything flammable inside or out! 🤷♂️🤪🤔👍
I like to risk it.
Dam brother you do some awsome stuff! Your a REAL and TRUE wrench! Keep them wrenches flying and keep them cars from dying!!! Your alway welcome at my fire side brother!
Appreciate it man!
In the long run you will be happier you did a solid job of repairing this one!
I totally agree
Very impressed! So many people would have seen the rust and let the car sit because they would have been discouraged. Looks great!
You won't regret the work you are doing on the floors. It will bring a great satisfaction when it is all back together and going down the road!

You Need to Teach That @Mortske How to do Rust Repair, Once he finds out how much work it is, Maybe he will give you some Respect !! LOL
Got a shirt and I really dig that you love to keep these old girls alive.
The more I see that car, the more I love it. such a fast and cool looking style.
I don't care what anyone says I like watching your channel
Your fellow Canadian Kyle at Carter Auto Restyling knows all about fire--you should watch more of his content... Fire is inspirational!🥵

You have a wealth of knowledge on these cars. I think it’s great that you are willing to share it.
Damn good job on the floors. I think that’s the way most people would repair them. Neat looking work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks buddy!
When in doubt ask, What would Puddin do?On a serious note,Dan gets down and dirty and shows us what it take to be a hotroder.
Puddin would weld a u-haul box on the back and make it lay frame. 😆

May be boring cutting fittings welding. But at the end of the day the value of the Nomad goes up. An a very nice car.
