@animeisart1 I think it was dead after the head was nearly severed. I noticed he made sure to cut through the area where the spinal chord is located... so even if it was still alive, it didn't "feel" being eviscerated-but I highly doubt it was alive anyway. that near to decapitation and the brain probably isn't getting oxygenated blood-nail was just the final... nail in the coffin so to speak.
Why? they hold it with the head so people dont get cut...and that eel is dead before the even pull the knife out of the neck....they cut the spine the is insta death
it still continues to move because of nerves, sources say even humans can move for few seconds after the head has been decapitated. The eel in this video is technically dead when makes that initial cut by the head
what? did my comment come off as that of an extreme animal activist? don't get me wrong, I LOVE MEAT. and I'm very much desensitized with the process of dressing animals. I was just merely stating what I had initially thought.
,Amazing Delicious seaFood.
this video deserves likes just for how sharp that knife is.
This looks so good.
Did he clean it 1st before putting the skewers?
I wish this video had captions. Seems like what he's saying about the process is pretty interesting.
Did the eel still have slime on it? It burn off when they grill it I assume?
I like Unagi. That's your opinion.
The eel was dead after the nail. The movement is just reflexive (like a lizards tail after it breaks away)
Hey could come to America and open a store here I will eat there everyday and maybe live there if I could
he is speak japan but tittle and a letter on video is korean, may be on korean TV show.
맛있는 (delicious) :)
I don't get it. The first cut seems to have severed its spinal chord, so why is its body still wriggling?
Ahhhh!! it's moving when it's already been skined !! :O
So tasty...
Master unagi blade wielder!

reflexes. The body's cells are still independently alive, so they behave as such. Including its nervous system

am i the only one who thought something suggestive after reading the word "dong"?
와 칼질 진짜 입벌어지네;;
