it’s actually cool that u keep ur mistakes in tho and don’t try to make everything seem perfect bc it’s more realistic that way and helps people who try the diy from making those same mistakes!
Tell me why I wasnt planning on making jeans like this at all, but sat through the entire video bc something about the vibe, aesthetic, and his personality hit right
So I've been using that sort of paper for a while and my recommendation would be to 1) have no water in the iron and 20 start of with the polyester setting first. That way everything sticks then with the parchment paper your gonna wanna go up to the cotton setting (hotter than the polyester setting) and go over the image a few times. And be sure to apply smooth pressure. And as for washes It last longer when inside out. :) hope this all helps!!!
THE PAIN I FELT WATCHING YOU PRINT WITHOUT FLIPPING I'm so relieved you realized before transferring onto the jeans tho For spots that get messed up you can take a fine tip sharpie to fill it in by hand, then use the protective sheet and heat set the ink so it doesn't wash out~ Also NICK👏🏽 NEEDS👏🏽 A👏🏽 SPONSOR👏🏽
Transfer paper on denim is a tricky thing. I'm done with the PPD instructions. I no longer use silicone paper, strictly the brown teflon sheet. Heat press is on the floor so I can give it a crazy amount of pressure for a full 30 seconds at 375F. I only do cold peel to get that nice satin finish with a textured look. I fix the image for 8 more seconds at 375F; (Not too long, otherwise it will stick onto the teflon sheet). Pant legs are easy, however the closer you get to the upper thigh and crotch area the thick seams, buttons, zippers WILL compromise the function of the heat press resulting in reduced pressure on the transfer paper, poor bond and increased chance of rips during peeling. An iron here is a useful adjunct in succeeding in areas where the heat press fails. Gotta choose your denim fabric too because it's a real drag to see all that neat stuff ruined after one test wash. Can't expect the client not to wash or know the right settings. I had transfer images that looked quite decent and well bonded (Old Navy light denim fabric), while cracks appeared on others (thicker, crude American Eagle denim fabric). It's definitely not a simple process and can be quite discouraging.
If you're talking about cutting Stencils on vinyl plastic sheets, you can trace and make carbons of images (use a dark make up pencil or a dark permanent marker) onto the vinyl sheets and cut them out with a regular pair of scissors. There's no need to buy an expensive circuit. Also you can use cheap black and white photocopies from your local library and make them into carbons or Stencils. There's no need to buy an expensive printer.Btw if you go to your local library ask a librarian there to print any image (that's legal) off of one of the desk tops there and they' print it for you ( and show you how to print off of a desktop yourself). This will cost you less than a dollar. That's a lot cheaper than buying an expensive printer.
@KOQI The best thing you could have done to help everyone watching this video is leave in ALL of the mistakes and explain why you did them and how to avoid them. THANK YOU !
“Do NOT listen to any of those things, any of those things, listen to ME listen to ME” 🤣🤣🤣 that made me smile, present self had gone thru the trial and error
the last vlog/jeans tutorial inspired me and i did a red bleached jeans (it looks like a red cloudy sky atm, kinda post-apocaliptic). am currently planning on painting something on it. any suggestions?
just a tip using that transfer paper, if you mess up and want to take the print off heat the opposite side of the paper/fabric and you should slowly be able to peel it off :)
YOOOO :D just found out abt your channel from this and !! honestly you seem like such a laid back and genuine dude, grats on 100k!! also, NICK NEEDS A SPONSOR
Okay I recommend u test print on printer paper before you actually print the designs on the transfer paper so u don't screw up and then end up wasting the paper
when u wash it will it come out? i'm curious
nope, you can wash em 🧼 the transfer paper comes with a care guide and i have a video linked in the description

Hold the iron still to get it hot enough to transfer. You can use foil underneath the garment to reflect heat, too.
