There are many great all rouders that can be worn as a daily wear watch. For well under $200 on sale, this San Martin makes a decent case for itself. Good size, comfortable, well made ane well finished, great lume and a known quantity for a movement. Maybe some brighter colours next time, a bigger clasp, and put some effort into the caseback! Cheers, Jody

I bought one of these, green dial. I’m really impressed with it. Gains about half a second a day. The finishing is perfect, and I have to say, I normally like interesting engravings on a full metal screw on case back, but I would say that San Martin have done a better job than Rolex, with the grooves for opening it and the brushed finishing I think they’ve captured a simplicity that goes very well with a flight / tool watch. It takes it back to basics whilst throwing in a little decoration on the dial and bezel. Beautiful, and really good value. This is the type of watch I would wear as a daily.

Quite attractively styled, I must admit. The Burgundy and Green are nice colourways, too. Still, in this genre it's hard to take my attention away from Oris' Big Crown series. I'd love to see more coin edge watches, in different shapes, rhythms, and dimensions. Here I regret that the onion-pumpkin doesn't seem congruent with the smallis coin edge so close by. Generally I find it harder to love dials that mix numerals and markers, but that's clearly a personal problem. Not sure what to think of the movement, but for the price hardly a great concern. The great thing about watches like this is that they make the underside of the market still a fun place to play in. It's a price that beats many decent quartz micros and certainly San Martin has proven to outdo it's price bracket in terms of finishing. Ultimately, for me, it just doesn't really get me excited and I miss both more design confidence and subtle refinements. As we know, each to their own. I do like San Martin is developing away from pure homages.

“San Martin for some reason decided to send me all four of them.” Maybe they looked at a well liked, value-oriented RUclips watch influencer with 272k subscribers and thought a couple of hundred bucks was a good PR expenditure. *lol* Anyway, nice review, and I like subtle Sinn and Hahnhart vibes I’m getting off this one. They did a nice job with the dial, and score for the “third-party” Orient 6922 movement, I love it. And yes, the F6922’s wind is definitely gritty, but very accurate for the money.

Bought this watch, black with SS bracelet. Thank you for featuring it. I’ve been looking for a very legible Rolex Explorer design watch in its original style and this San Marin was perfect with very similar specs (even 100 meters WR)! Even more legible. Did I get my math wrong or does the San Martin actually cost less than 2% of the price of a Rolex Explorer? No matter how I tried, your coupon code didn’t work. Eventually I used another code that did give me $10 off.

I’ve learned through watch collecting that in order for me to have a “keeper” it needs to have wearability otherwise the watch just doesn’t get worn.
