- The Lord of the Forest. A mythological guardian of the most virgin and remote forests. Protector of the flocks and the riders.
Basajaun is an off-road race through the Lord of the Forest domains.
Cinematography is gorgeous, hard to go wrong with such beautiful landscapes.

Working in television for more than 20 years, I appreciate all films as a cinematographer and editor. When I watched this and other films - I immediately wanted to participate and pass by myself.
I was in Paris in august 2023 and traveled Paris-Brest-Paris. A couple of months ago, the organizers came up with the idea of a film about the event. It looks like a children's movie, no drive, music - tragedy, no quality, very bad movie :(
I really, really want to thank you for all your videos about Basajun and other competitions and I think someday I will participate with a bicycle. :) :) :)

Es emocionante por donde lo mires tanto dentro como fuera, es una gran oportunidad para ser uno en la naturaleza llevar tu cuerpo al límite y romper los Basajaun en mi opinión personal 😁👍 te sube la adrenalina y como ciclista que soy te lleva al siguiente nivel felicidades 🎉

There were many steel bike, but any like this, hehe
I really like the videography and overall quality, but it really felt like I just watched 13 minutes of advertisement, a teaser rather than hearing stories and pains from the cyclists themselves. It felt rather disconnected from their stories.

If you look further into what Basajaun is, you could tell that's a cultural entity and the Basque Country has one of the oldest languages in the world. That's why oral transmission is very rich in myths and legends as the Basajaun, the protective spirit of the forest, so that's how we were inspired to call this race.

@@TransibericaUltracycling thank you. I spent lots of time in the Basque country. It is a fascinating part of the world. I am referring to the voice over spitting philosophical common places and platitudes. The Video would be 100 times better without it.
