You're not missing anything with the lager. The IPA is good, but it's not so different than any standard IPA you'll find from a brewery. The coolness factor is just the Stone Cold element.

I personally haven't had subway for at least 5 years because of competition with better ingredients and prices, sustainability, customer service, overall reputation, etc. Unless they make DRASTIC and continuous changes, Subway will continue past maturity and into the decline cycle of their bell curve. My bet is that in ten years they have 90% less locations than they do now. FYI I used to love Subway.
