1. Play who you want (recommend some beginner characters to learn the game with if they want someone easy) 2. Practice movement in the game 3. Learn your pokes, launchers, combo, and ender for your character 4. Crouching does not block mids
Keep a positive attitude. Don't think of the opposing player as an enemy, rather a training partner. (does not apply in tournament play) Improvement takes time. Consistency is key.
1 tekken will most likely not pay your bills, so breathe easy and don't freak out if something doesn't work out 2 don't get upset about your opponent's behavior/playstyle, what are you going to do? get on a plane and confront him? there's nothing you can do about it at this point except find a weak spot, he's not going to adapt to make you feel better 3 connect with your locals and don't be afraid to ask experienced/known players for help... but you should always listen closely and read between the lines 4 relax and enjoy the game, at the end of the day we have the privilege of sitting on our fat ass and playing video games... if things aren't going well today, turn the game off and re-inspire yourself - someone who had to learn all this himself :)
Just play the game and enjoy the fun the way you like. When you feel you hit the wall and feel you could learn more then go practice and look guides and videos, before that play this as a game not a school project.
1) why do you play tekken and does it justify to play long term?( be completely honest even if it’s selfish goals. Don’t do it for superficial goals) 2) a win or a lost matter but what matter most was did you learn anything from that recent match. 3) do not be afraid of strong players. Be excited that you’ll going to soon beat them. Adapt, improve, and succeed.
Taking breaks from play sessions help too. It is easy to get tilted in a competitive game, especially Tekken. That can negatively impact your gameplay so taking breaks here or there to recharge yourself helps a lot.
Thanks for all your guides on this game so far, man. The character guides, and even the guides on just the basic gameplay and movement have all been very helpful and informative. I’ve been playing fighting games like Mortal Kombat, street fighter, and soul Calibur my entire life, but Tekken eight is the first Tekken that I actually want to get really good at. So I’ve been checking out a lot of these beginners guides. It’s definitely been a challenge to work on improving the basics and learning different characters for me, mainly because I struggle with memorizing a bunch of different moves and learning when exactly to use them. I’m also completely blind, which probably makes things slightly more difficult. Lol. Fortunately, the sound design in tekken is pretty good, and all of the different characters attacks seems to have unique sound cues, which is definitely helpful for me. Anyways, I’m getting off topic. I’ll end this ridiculously long comment by saying thanks again, and I will definitely check out your future guides on Tekken eight.
Okay. Okay. You earned a sub from me. I was in the competitive SoCal Tekken scene back in 1998, and dropped out after the disaster known as Tekken 4, picking up and playing VF for the next few decades instead. I'm ready to come home, and your videos have made my hype grow beyond measure.
I also found it useful to go to arcade quest and it'll show you combos and moves to practice. They also have a rank system on arcade quest making it harder as you go higher up. The further you go up the more it'll show you. They also allow you to fight a ton of ghosts based on who you already fought online or in game ghosts from the game creators. You also gain a lot of customizations unlocked from doing so.
If anyone new sees this DONT SPEND A LOT OF TIME IN TRAINING MODE FIRST. Learn a thing or 2, play some matches repeat. I did this for Tekken 7 and it worked wonders. You can know how to do a combo, but it's useless if you cant play neutral.
Excited to jump in, been wanting to get into Tekken for a long time and your vids have helped alot❤. Im going to remember these things and go at my own pace and take my time
Game is super fun, I get super heated though when I know how to deal with spam like dragon tails, lows, jabs, king and general throws, but still keep messin' up.
1. Tip for beginners play with friends and learn moves while playing and enjoy the game :) After that look guides when you have more interest in the game like all other tekken fans :)
I'm new to the tekken series and I chose hwoarang and reina as my characters, especially reina, I realize she's very complex but I just don't like the other characters. Went to online matches today for the first time in 15 hours - I was just destroyed, it seemed like I watched a bunch of character guides, a bunch of guides on fundamental mechanics, tried to apply it within the game and it just didn't work, panishes that worked with bots didn't work at all against humans, I was very frustrated that I only won 3 matches all day because I don't understand why I'm losing, how do you start to understand why you're losing?
I honestly have so many ideas for videos I'll definitely be branching out eventually. I wanna make more smash content eventually, review games, and start streaming consistently. I'll probably stick with tekken for the next couple months but maybe I'll release a few different videos to gauge intrest and see how they do
The most think i struggel with is learning matchups Where to start, for what to look out, etc... Sure there are anti character guides, but until now i could not find a video that goes in it like a system So more something like, go trough this points step by step to learn a matchup and system can then be used for every character
So as someone who usually only does anime arena fighters, and smash bros. As well as only goes against the cpu since I'm an offline gamer, would you recommend this one? It looks so good but I'm just afraid I'll be bad at it. Is there a good amount of offline content for single players? Also the special controls can you turn that on from the main menu before a fight?
There's the full singleplayer story mode and the new arcade quest campaign which is essentially a second story mode that teaches you the game. There's a pretty good amount of offline content. I think you can enable the special controls at any time during the match by pressing a button.
@@DBZSZ1995 as an offline player myself and haven't really put time into tekken since T5, T8 is so far the absolute best fighter to get into as a single player experience. Main story is fantastic, character stories (arcade mode) is a 5 fight bout for every character with non canon story bits and the arcade quest mode is a good time to learn the game and still have fun while learning and unlocking a plethora of creature comforts. Tens of hours worth of content aimed towards the single player. I loved mk1 and sf6 but I think t8 is my favorite so far and that's saying alot. Pick the game up and you'll have a great time.
0:40 me thinking about the pauls in t7 that have 10k wins while in green ranks. They know the character, but not the game. Never heard a truer statement

Very true!
I’m on that break now.😂
Mines just ended 😤🙏🏾
Incredibly underated tip. Even taking a quick 5 minutes break when I start getting frustrated has helped me tremendously lately.
Focusing on not mashing and strictly blocking and punishing is a really good tip. Jab string punish small moves, launch big moves.
Yeah for sure
Watch out for them counter hit strings tho 😅
You are my go-to for general beginner and intermediate help for tekken thank you for ur content!
Glad to help! Thanks for the support :)
Also, dont get worked out on combos and remember to have fun

Cant wait to improve in tekken 8! Thank you BoogardMG!

Same thing worked for me when I played CNT as a newbie. Learning to block while poking let's me learn more about neutral plays
Yes for sure
The offline tournaments thing seems so cool. I am hoping I can find some locally

It's gonna be amazing
Excellent video mate, I've only played sf6 and mk1 so gonna be interesting g o learn tekken, maybe that could be a good idea for a video??? Thanks.
Not a bad idea
@@Boogard I think there will be a lot of people like me, I've always avoided it, but tkn 8 looks so good I'm going to learn but have no clue...lol

Upload more bro

I want to learn Tekken 8 for a 3D fighting game, I want to play because I haven't played a 3D funny game in a long time.
Tekken is an amazing 3d fighting game, the best in my opinion

4:04 That is literally me 😂
id love to see you do a devil jin guide
I'll definitely be making one when the game comes out
My simple answer to get better at Tekken learn how to block after every attack that doesnt connect with your opponent
I picked devil Jin to start
You included subtitles lol nice
I’m new to the game and picked azucena , got warrior and learning , did I choose a harder one ?
When I lose at I find it funny, so yeh that I do agree with.

I’m new and I wanna main Reina even doh it may be difficult 😅
If you like her don't let it stop you
learn game with reina -> lose -> repeat
The problem with Tekken is that I must spend another 300 to get a leverless because the damn D-Pad is giving me an aneurysm.
I wish they were cheaper I really want a hitbox

Play ranked, but don't worry about the rank.

Get a therapist because you'll need one after trying to learn it. Most of the characters are annoying to learn
