In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro is on a shopping safari! He's hunting for the perfect white tee shirt. Keep in mind Aaron is 5'6" and 152 pounds. Ratings below are between 1 (bad) - 10 (good).
The Review
1. GAP ($11) - small fits pretty well (8), not the softest fabric but it's good (5), quality (8), and OVERALL (7.5)
2. J.Crew ($18) - medium fits larger than he likes, fabric is soft, construction is similar to GAP, it's a nice shirt but nothing super special, and OVERALL (6)
3. Banana Republic ($15) - more stretch than the other two, it's thinner at the neck (in terms of the band), you can tell it's a premium shirt, and OVERALL (9 -9.5)
4. Zara ($18) - the medium is super stretchy and super tight, not comfortable for Alpha, fit (5), fabric (4), value is okay, and OVERALL (5.5)
5. Topman ($10) - medium is roomier with a regular cut, fit and length are good (4), quality is not good (3.5), price (9), and OVERALL (6)
Alpha, if you do more like this, you should do a comparison of pre-wash versus post-wash. You may buy a shirt and love the fit, or not like it so much because it is larger, but post-wash may change whether you like or dislike it. Just a suggestion. Looking forward to this series!

Completely agree here. I have the absolute hardest time with shirts because I'm right between a small and medium, so post wash it can go either way whether I still like the shirt. Just bought some Gap shirts that fit perfectly prewash, but i'm afraid of what they'll be like post wash.

Great suggestion. Was thinking the very same thing. A part 1 and part 2 follow up sort of thing. That's key to making a good investment.
It's so annoying when a shirt shrinks up too much or even becomes super loose after washing and wearing it a couple of times.
Banana Republic and Zara look best IMO. I'd like to suggest maybe have a poll in the 'i' icon (top right) to see which one the viewers dig as a part of the Safari series 🤔

Aaron bro , thank you if you read this comment , from the bottom of my heart I thank you , today after watching your interview videos in your page I followed everything I went to the dodge jeep ram dealer for a interview the man told me that in 40 years of doing the business that not one man has ever walked in a interview wearing a suit , I got me a good suit 2 button grey , I went with black shoes and belt with a blue shirt and pink tie yeah I know kinda bold but anyway he told me he doesn't hire people with no experience and he said since I was wearing a suit he said here a paper to take to the hospital for a drug test... 30 minutes after that drug test I received another call about a manager in training , and nailed it I went from nothing now facing 2 jobs and stressed a little bc not sure what to do but it's a good thing to feel that way , thanks Aaron thank you my man !!!! I've watched you for a very long time ever since you did videos at your house even before you ever did any of the makeover videos anyway thanks man , guys if you read this list in to me sometimes a suit can actually get you a job and I am living prof of it

Georgi Genchev I watched one of his jean videos and he recommended GAP jeans for simplicity. I picked some up and they are great! Also Levi's has some more simple dark wash ones too.
Georgi Genchev I have a hard time finding jeans that fit well. normally a 36X30 but straight cut and slim don't work, I'm not fucking skinny. Levis, Lee, American eagle, Hollister, pacsun, etc are all for skinny folks. Only Old Navy has decent fitting loose boot cut jeans, but the quality isn't the greatest. idk where else to shop but there. HELP ME ALPHA!!!

You should do more of these! I'm not always purchasing online and going to the mall is my best option to trying on clothing. My wife hates it when I can't find anything and it's getting harder to find the things I can like and feel comfortable wearing. We have a similar body shape and size as well, so I can easily base the size from you-as I've done so in the past. (only speaking for myself) If it grabbed my attention, I'm sure it has others. Great vid!
For the next episode do a "Shopping For The Perfect Polo Shirt" You can try buying Polo's from Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste, Calvin Klein, Nautica...

I recommend Gap crew neck T-shirts. Great quality, great fit ( I use medium and I’m 5’9” tall ) reasonable price and many colors to choose from.

great I was just recently looking for a plain white shirt and it took me forever to find the right fit. Now i thought: hey let's see if alpha finds a better one...but he eventually ended up with the same store I bought mine in the end....But hey, at least I can say alpha is knows his stuff

teaching mens fashion already did a video like this already and kind of has a series like this.
however here are a few suggestions for future safari videos:
-take a poll of what kinds of clothes they want to see
-take a poll of where they would like you to shop
-fitting pre and post wash (previously suggested by a top comment)
-side by side compiled visual comparison of each of the product
-visual text to detail your ratings on the aspects of the clothing. example fabric: 8 out of 10
-closing the video with rankings 1,2 and 3

All sorts of men's fashion but stores like JC Pennys, compared to let's say Macy or MensWare House to Walmart places like that.
I've always felt like Target's Mossimo Athletic Fit T-Shirts were perfect. 10 bucks a pop.

Rukataku It always amazes me how normal it seems to be in America and the west in general to go around public spaces and film yourself talking to a camera. I can't imagine doing that in my city without people constantly thinking I'm mentally challenged. This might be the first video of this kind where I see people looking at the camera like it's not the most common thing ever.

I get my plain T's from J Crew! They are the best when it comes to fit, comfort, and quality. They do shrink a bit after a dry.
