Llane actually allowed Garona to kill him so she might have the chance to gain influence within the Horde to help change it into a force of good rather than puppets of the Legion. Garona was able to help influence the Horde as she later became a leader of the New Horde.
Yeah but it was painfully obvious that he let her kill him and that she was helping him and that she didn't want to kill him. How cartoonish is that? Even middle earth orcs wouldn't be that stupid.
I love this movie so much. If they could make just _one_ sequel, I bet they could get their feet on the ground with the storyline and impress the critics enough to make a whole series.
The King's plan might have been feasible, but no-one else knows about it, which means the humans will treat her as a king-killing traitor, and execute her on sight. Which may throw a wrench in the 'peace' plan. Even if they heard her out, why would they believe her, far less ever trust her again? As beloved as Llan seemed to be, his whole Kingdom will want vengeance on her. The only this plan could possibly accomplish is her survival. And she is completely and utterly inconsequential.
He was thinking late game. If she appears to be on the Horde's side to both sides, she can subtly sway the orcs toward a more peaceful attitude toward the humans. Otherwise, she just dies like him and Gul'dan and Blackhand go on to destroy everything. Notice at the end how she was able to convince Gul'dan to do that that Orgrim could not.
To be fair, it was literally "better than nothing" situation, and anyone wasn't really supposed to know that Garona killed the king if Lothar didn't make the miracle recovery of his body. It was more of a planting agent in the Horde that could influence some decisions and, possibly, save some humans.
What other people said. If she was "completely and utterly inconsequential" they wouldn't have made her half-blood, literally the bridge between two worlds.
@@amitkenan3878 He didn't know, he just didn't want to admit it might be the truth. He would've denied it had Garona actually done it for that reason as well.
A lot of folks hated this movie for some reason? Personally, I enjoyed it and look forward to the second movie. (I never got the opportunity to play either Warcraft 1 or 2, they slipped by my and my siblings proverbial gaming radar.)
WEll, Most of the hate I think came from the different between this and the War in Lore. In lore (not Warcraft 1 game) The war last for a wipe, and only and due to Brain Control Garona assasinte King Llane, Lord Lothar got capture by Orge for almost half a year, Mediv betray, HellScream took over Guldan's reign.... Basically, there are alot that got cut of from the story. I think Warcraft is not suit too make film like this, too many contents lost. Remember the 1st game of throne? (not saying the later seasons are good)
It is a nice shot and looks cool, but zug-zug is something peons say and basically means okay so to have the whole army chanting it after the enemy king dies and they are victorious is pretty silly. If only one the most iconic orc saying for fans meant victory or death, which people usually only used the victory bit of or something, then they could of chanted that...
this is why I joined the horde, the Orcs aren't bad people; they just had bad luck and yes difficult decisions had to be made. but if our planet was dying, what would you do differently?
Well, the green orcs in the movie aren't exactly evil, but they are being manipulated by evil (Gul'Dan, who is undeniably a villain, and even more so by, presumably, the Burning Legion). In the games orcs were very much intended to be bad, until it was sorta retconned. The horde only stopped being an instrument of evil once it was reformed under Thrall's command in the WC3 era. Now, that's not to say that humans/alliance are always good. Far from it. There's been plenty of bad humans, dwarves, high elves, night elves, etc. in Warcraft's lore.
magnumcornetto Yeah, let's hear it for Arthas having to be crazed by Mal'Ganis evil doings.Yeah, the way I hear it, he betrayed his father, his friend Bronzebeard, his 'trainer' Uther and even destroyed his Lordaeron his father's kingdom.
Rewatched the movie recently. Honestly, it's not bad. Yes, it's rushed, but so is season 8. And this movie makes sense, unlike season 8 😂 And i think Gorona was one of the most interesting characters, there is a sad irony in her killng Llane. She essentially lived her life as a slave for the orcs, enduring beatings and racism and whatnot. She was captured by the humans, but they were the first to ever treat her with respect and compassion. So when she joined in the fight, she had no love for the orcs at all. Even durotan rejected her, knowing his culture would never recognize her as an equal without some kind of achievement. So her killing of Llane doest grant her the respect of the horde, but at the cost of losing the trust of the very people that saved her in the first place. A shame there wont be a sequel, Gorona had a lot of potential for more.
this cycle of vengeance always repeats in warcraft and fuels this conflict. Firstly Hordes attacks, Alliances wants peace. Somebody important dies on the Alliance side they want revenge. Hordes wants peace, Alliance attacks. Somebody important dies Horde wants revenge. and cycle repeats.
Is that hellscream who grabbed her? He looks familiar with the WoW cinematics if he is fvcking push for a 2nd movie the fan base alone will rake in money
To be honest I was not a fan of how they changed this from the books. By making her kill him out of her own will and him willingly letting her kill him it takes away a lot of what made Garona such a tragic character. It also was a great insight into how frighteningly clever Gul'dan could be and that the signs were there from the very moment we met Garona.
It's always worse to kill a person you do not want to kill out of your free will rather than being mind-controlled. She had a full control of her body after all. And no one would believe her reason why she did it, except her being a coward who wished to save her skin and finally be accepted by mongrels who rejected her in the first place, especially by a guy who started as a jerk, but opened himself to her later and she to him.
You could have played Warcraft since the first game came out and not put together that the only way for the orcs to dominate the new ecosystem and in light of the inevitable human victory, is by making a hybrid species with the humans that unites both histories. This is the most important moment in the war between human and orc, the moment there is a choice between heaven and hell. Everything else after, no matter what it is, can only result in either extinction of orkin kind, or what I just described.
These humans must be straight beefheads because there is no way they would be able to handle these orcs otherwise. Imagine having to fight a silverback gorilla but then also 3 times larger. jfc
