That turned out fantastic!
a new subscriber here..i am frustrated as i didn’t get what i want in painting waves and seas..almost give up and planned to give away all my oil paints and brushes..after i saw your vids i am inspired.
Painting make me relaxed..felt so depressed this past few months, so much sadness..Thanks for inspiring people to continue what they love to do.
Thank you for your comment John, I am so pleased you are enjoying my videos and I have quite a few videos on my channel on how to paint the sea. Painting makes me feel relaxed too, its good for your soul 😊
I watched this the day it came out, ordered some guache, and have never looked back. I love oil, and the richness of oil, but for those of us who are challenged when it comes to patience, guache is a solid choice.
That's great Sam, I used to paint birds and animals in gouache which were successful. I was living in a caravan at the time so it was easy to clean up too!
Yeah the clean up is quick and easy, I’m definitely loving using gouache 😊
Hi, I’ve only just been led to your channel by the dreaded RUclips Algorithm. This was such an enjoyable, relaxing and informative video to watch. I am at the very basic start of learning watercolour and just playing with gouache, without the ability to truly call myself even a beginner at this point. If there is a description below “beginner “, then that’s me. I have been left gobsmacked over your mastery of gouache. Considering the reason for its existence in the first place, your beautiful painting truly left me feeling in complete awe of your skill. I have just subscribed, and yes, used the bell icon. I look forward to seeing more of your work - there’s an entire back catalogue to go through. Incidentally, I’m from Scotland. 👩🏻🎨🖌️🎨
You have done a magnificent job of this seascape. You can tell it’s watercolor but so much better with the gouache. I really love it. The colors are so refreshing. This is so beautiful 💕
Thank you so much Sandra 😊
Fabulous video and painting, thank you
Thank you too 😊
That's the sign of a great artist - they can take any medium and make it work for them! Beautiful 👏🙂 Now that you're using gouache more I'm going to sign up to your Patreon and eventually make my way up to using oils (I'm sensitive to chemicals and strong smells so I'm still figuring out best way to do that!) But in the mean time I can do your gouache and acrylic tutorials 😊 Thanks Sam!
Thank you so much. I’ll be doing more videos on painting with gouache and I’ll be making videos on painting with gouache for my Patreon channel. Looking forward to seeing you there 😊
You can also try watersoluble oilpaints like Copra. Instead of turpentine you will use water and a medium (Copra) without any smell. To clean your brushes simply use water.
@@jytte47 thanks, yes I've heard of them and think they might be what I'll try first. Will check out the brand you suggested. Bonus of easier clean up too!
Great to see you painting in gouache 🙌🏻
I’m loving painting with gouache 😊
Beautiful 👌
Thanks a lot 😊

Only recently discovered gouache and still trying to figure it all out. Usually paint with watercolour. Love this video and painting! Look forward to seeing more of gouache videos.
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching 😀
OMG, gorgeous!!! I'm not a very experienced painter (mostly watercolor) but I love it. I've just started with gouache and you are so inspirational! Thank you for the excellent videos. I'm not into oil painting, but gouache painting I'd really like to learn.
Thanks Edith, I'll be uploading more gouache tutorials to this channel 😊
Love, love, love this one. 💖
I love these gouache paintings and they are very helpful. Thank you. It would also help if you could show how you mix your gouache paint. For me it isceither too thick or too thin.
Thanks John, I will keep your suggestions in mind. I need to painting some more gouache paintings 😊
Hello , thanks for this video, I’m looking how to use Gouache and love seascapes, I use mainly acrilic but I want to use this medium so I can be outside, painting what I see in my back yard, I love watercolor as well, and play around with Holibin Gouache, I love how you build up this seascape, your accent reminds me of my Grandmother, I’m watching your channel! I use to paint with oils but the smells of the cleaning of brushes gave me a headache and I love how your explaining everything ❤️🎨🎨🎨

Thank you for this great tutorial.
You're very welcome, thanks for watching 😀
Top... ❤❤❤
Thanks 😀
Love the video, as always! If you don't mind sharing, what brand of paper and gouache are you using?
Thanks Stephen. The watercolour paper I am using is just standard watercolour paper that I got from an art store. My gouache paints I got as a set years ago and I cannot remember the name of the brand but they are a brand I have never heard of. I will be going to an art store soon and I'll buy a whole new set of gouache paints. I have heard Windsor and Newton are good 😊
Is that acrylic gouache or regular gouache? Pls
This is regular gouache 😊
Amazing. It looks like oil and so realistic. =)
Thanks so much 😊
I hate gouache for 2 reason..layering and blending....very tough
I have not seeen one gouache painting seamless blending like oils...always ends up marbled appearance
