As someone who was there, that's the sound for sure. Thanks for throwing in some Vito. He's great and never gets enough credit as being among the 80s Guitar Gods, but once you try to play his stuff you gain a whole new appreciation for how technical, clean and melodic it is. Cheers.
I've had it for quite a while now. This thing is really versatile. Hair metal to thrash and heavier. My Orange covers my doom tones (though I'd like to find a Sunn Model T plugin) and my blues tones. Great plugin and nice chops- all the best from Canada.
Thanks dude! It's a custom finish they did for me - I sent them the Miami Vice logo for reference! haha. It's available to order now as "Vice Vomit" :)
Vice Vomit, I was wondering what it was called it’s awesome, it reminded me of a Kiesel jawbreaker a little bit. I like it can’t decide your favorite 80s color for a guitar, have them all.
Dude that cleanish intro to Monkey Business was on point maybe a little more bite than the album but it sounded awesome rolled back on the guitar volume. What bridge PU is in the Vice Vomit ? It cleaned up great.
I am so intrigued by Tyler guitars but they’re a unicorn I’ve never seen in real life. It’s tough to find a comparison guitar. I’d really like to hear you describe the neck spec? Great tones man!
It's based on a vintage Strat neck. It is very full feeling but not huge. I ordered this one slightly sized down (-.020 or so). It's comfortable, also in no small part due to their compound radius & great fretwork. Hopefully you can try one someday!
They are worldies - they are a step up from any other guitar I have - I have a suhr modern and a PRS Only guitar that compares to my Tyler is my Luke Valley Arts ! On parr
So generally speaking when possible I prefer to have all post-amp wet fx blended in in parallel. This is especially important to keep reverb & delay from interacting with each other. However it depends on the type of chorus. For some parts I really like having the core guitar tone modulated before it hits those wet fx, so I will do something like turn on a simple mono analog chorus in front of the amp.
@@kylekarich Sweet, I never realised that when I use send FXs the order doesn't matter! I always added them in order. Guess I should have read up on that! Thanks dude!
Hey Kyle, killer tone and playing, man! Could you please share your settings for the tone you are playing here? (I did see the cab info in the comments already, so thank you for that!)
Thanks dude! OD1: 5.5 OD2: 5.5 Master Gain: 4.2 Bass: 0 Mids: -4 Treble: 0 Presence: 0 Tube Distortion I am not using any of the built-in post FX besides the noise gate, and also a little bit of the pre "Tight" EQ because I like removing a little bass at the input. The cab is 57+121. What you will have to change the most to suit different guitars is balancing OD1&2, as well as changing mids & treble to taste. In post I have a tube optical compressor on, if you don't have a compressor plugin you like / don't want to do that I would just not compress at all rather than use the built-in, for distortion tones. With an API style EQ after I am high & low passing + pulling out some mids, so if you would not like to use a post-EQ, I would just use the Rumbling & Harsh controls within the plugin.
I've been using a MP-1 since 1989. I toured with the thing and I absolutely love it. But now that I'm older, I can't carry around a refrigerator sized rack full of processing gear for it. So I was thinking of a laptop, with this thing loaded as a stand alone unit. Out of that into my Harley Benton Thunder 99 Power Amp Pedal, into (2) 1x12 Celestion cabs. The only thing I don't see any info on is controlling it. If the presets can be changed via a midi fool controller, I'm in business. Do you happen to know if that is an option on the plugin? If it isn't, then they certainly need to add that function. I mean that's what a real MP-1 is all about. Having all those luscious sounds at your tippy toes.
I don't think the plugin itself has MIDI control but depending on your DAW I believe you could use automation to change presets or switch between multiple instances and control that with MIDI. They have a trial so luckily you could see how it works for you before you buy.
@@kylekarich Yes! Thank you - was starting to drive me nuts. Funny I got the much more obscure one and not the one I have heard 100 more times, lol. Rock on man, cool tones and playing! Inspiring me to go learn those riffs now 🤘🤘
Love what you are doing. I would like if you turned down, if not all the way off, the background music stock track. Almost can’t take it. Let your guitar playing do all the talking. It will stand out more without that noise. Keep it up!
Fuck yeah this slaps

Yooooo, seriously dude. Your chops are madness, and your tones are dialled. Very very nice and tasteful.
Totally Awesome- from someone who has an MP-1 yes you nail it brother Awesome playing
I really appreciate that! I'm jealous - I've loved the real one every time I've got to plug in. I need one someday.

Awesome vids. I bought the MP1 plugin at your recommendation. Question if you don't mind: do you go chorus into microshift or vice versa?

Tube distortion mode with power amp on & the VHT/V30 IR.
