      @@vqfivenothing does. Your eyes go bad for many reasons. Whether the degradation can be slowed down, stopped or reversed depends on the reason and situation. You can’t take someone who needs glasses and is 4+ and make them 20/20. Maybe one in a million glasses wearers because they have a specific cause that allows the damage to be reversed. In most cases, it can’t be stopped let alone reversed. Just like nothing else can. We age and we get worse with time. Depending on the situation, some people can be healthier when they’re older compared to younger, but thats in extreme cases and normally only by a few metrics. We’re all dying every second and getting worse and worse. It can be slowed down somewhat but not even significantly. Specially if we’re not rich and have all the time in the world to work on this one thing.

    I would dispute that & say that cod liver oil is the better oil to take as it does supply vitamin A which is an important vitamin for eye health & it was when I was lax in my diet due to lack of money & not having the resources to take cod liver oil that I ended up with torn retinas in both my eyes which really annoyed me because I knew that vitamin A was one vitamin that I needed to be on as I was aware that my body didn't process my food properly & needed the extra help of cod liver oil. We were given it as children in the 1950s to boost our vitamin A levels.

    Bilberry may be problematic for diabetics. When I looked for more info, I came across a 2013 journal article that reported “ingestion of a concentrated bilberry extract reduces postprandial glycaemia and insulin in volunteers with T2D.” The reported 18% drop in blood sugar might be good for the subjects, who weren’t taking diabetes meds - but possibly dangerous for anyone who does take diabetes meds, especially without glucose testing.
    For more info, search for the title “A single supplement of a standardised bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) extract (36 % wet weight anthocyanins) modifies glycaemic response in individuals with type 2 diabetes controlled by diet and lifestyle.” The brand used in the study was Mirtoselect, which apparently would have been 160 mg. of an extract. Sounds like a smaller dose than the product showed in this video.

    I must be under a Moon Shadow as the song goes. I recently went to an eye doctor office to get glasses. The one doctor ( duck ) said glasses won't do me any good at all because I have cataracts in both eyes which need removal. Okay, so I go see ( or not see, ha-ha ) the next doctor ( duck, quack, quack ) in the same establishment. He tells me I have 20/20 vision in one eye and 20/30 in the other. But the other has something I don't understand, which is not a cataract but something behind the lens which needs treatment. Before all this, 6 months before all this, I went to an entirely different eye doctor for glasses. That one told me I don't have cataracts in either eye and I got fitted for glasses both close and far away. So what the hell is this non-sense?

      As a supplement it’s not all that important if you have a healthy diet. He’s not saying lutein itself is not important, just that we can get most of it from a healthy diet.
      For diseases such as macular degeneration, there are studies that have shown how these pigments are beneficial at intermediate stages, but have little to no benefit in early or late stages.
      Optometrists are more than qualified to give out health advice with relations to the eye.

    The advice to not take lutein until you actually have macular degeneration is heard fairly often on the supplement education circuit. But I'd like to ask about an alternative, possibly for the elderly like myself:
    I take lutein, and I do not know if I have macular degeneration or not. If I do acquire this condition, I think having a maintenance dose already in progress might be helpful. I haven't heard anyone say that taking lutein without macular degeneration is bad, so what harm is there in taking it before M-D might show up?

      Krill is easily absorbed by the body. I personally take both fish oil and krill oil along with olive oil.

    Is 5000mg a day of fish oil safe for most people?

    • @neilpeartspurplenose8739
      @neilpeartspurplenose8739 2 года назад +1

      3,000 mg is the recommended safe upper limit from the FDA.
      In the UK, it's 4,000 mg.
      I take 2,800 mg per day, and it's fine.
      I wouldn't take 5,000, though. It will thin your blood, and can increase your risk of having a stroke. 3,000 is more than enough.

    • @annieyu5162
      @annieyu5162 Год назад

      yes, 3000mg is the maximum daily intake. 1000mg daily input is sufficient for adult.

    Omega 3 Fish oil never works... Because the nutrients from that oil can't be extracted when the capsules are in your stomach. It can be extracted if you eat very much oily stuff, but that is bad. (cause of Dementia, obesity... ) And 3Tsp Flaxseeds have the Omega Alpha oil... for your body and that will work.

  • @RacerX888
    @RacerX888 2 года назад +1

    I have been using Bilberry for years. I have severe glaucoma and my optic nerves are 70% dead in both eyes, but I have lost no vision and have no symptoms of glaucoma due to using Bilberry, eating a LOT of berries like blueberries, strawberries etc. and also take L-Carnitine and L-Cysteine amino acids as they are excellent for long term vision care. Also, if you use eyedrops for any reason, do not push the liquid towards the corner of the eyes like the doctors always tell you. Rub your eyes in a circular and upand down/left to right motions for at least 30 seconds to maximize the eyedrops medicinal value. Rubbing liquid into the corners of the eyes just causes half of it to leak out as you cannot force fluid into the eyes faster than they want to accept it.
